Coles Bridgewater in the Adelaide hills is offering 10% off on transactions of $50 or more. I believe this is due to the new Foodland opening this week in Stirling.
There is a little brochure they were handing out in store but they are giving the discount out to everyone.
Yeah, I had a look in there and it was pretty packed. Time will tell if it mellows out after the initial interest. It seems to have nice gourmet/local produce in the deli and that section along the wall but it is quite small.. there are still plenty of customers for the other supermarkets.
I previously worked in the Woolworths in Stirling so it interests me to see how it all works out.
There are still a lot of us oldies who miss the old Foodland (now Woolworths Stirling) with the bow-tied youth carrying the shopping to the car and a management that would source any product on request then phone you when it arrived. I'm watching too, it will be interesting.
Well, we still carry the products to your car on request. Just ask a staff member and they will get someone to help you. The sourcing products thing is a little more difficult because we really have no control over what we stock at a store level. That is just an issue with the company structure Woolworths settled on.

I think you are right about it being a response to the new Foodland. Business is booming at Foodland. Lots of locals keen to get revenge on Woolies and Coles for taking their favourite brands off the shelves and replacing them with their own horrid products.
