But if there is no stock at current full price, will additional stock materialise in two days to be sold at bargain price?
Why the negs?
I am just saying that current stock levels indicate that this product is currently unavailable in WA from BigW and therefore this deal will apparently not be available in WA. This info may be useful to other punters.
I neither said nor implied anything else about the validity or quality of the deal in other states.
@GordonR: Check it now. Two stores near Perth are available.
Long time lurker first time participator! I am wondering is this the same as the V6 Absolute (mechanically, not just the accessories etc)
Similarly curious.
Anyone got one? Thoughts?
Thinking about this for my Mum to make doing her home a little easier than dragging around the barrel vac.
Mechanically the same. I have one at home. Only accessories are different.
Yes, same V6 motor as the V6 Absolute but without the Hepa Filter. May work a little less better than the V6 Absolute due to it not having the Direct Drive Head attachment and the Fluffy Head attachment included.
Will this be good for hard wood floors and for cleaning cat hair off the couch? What’s the main difference between this and a $1000 v10 version? Are the heads different length? Less power?
It’s like car engines, V6 vs V10.
I have a v6 and I use it for both of those things, works well. V6 vs v10 is motor size/power etc. This one will do what you want fine.
And do keep in mind 20 minutes runtime on V6 vs 60 minutes on V10.
Wow 60 mins on V10? Thats would be great for a house
Yeah that's what they claim but not sure in reality how much difference in runtime. But the price difference between the V6 and V10 is HUGE!
Hard to believe … got specs? Same Li-Ion battery? same capacity? same engineering for cyclonic action? I don't know … I am just guessing, but from what I have read and using a V6 absolute, it uses more energy on MAX mode … 20min but I can get 40 min in standard mode …
@fatduck: 40 min from v6 ?
you sure it's runtime and not your 'house cleaning' vacuum time ?
@dcep: Hmmm …. it takes me about 40-50 mins to do the entire place, but it's not continuous use (start stop, move chair, start stop) - but then I don't need to recharge on non Max mode, on Max mode I only get 20 mins
guys for warranty issues, send Dyson an email and use the magic words "Australian Consumer Law", they will spring into action and sort things out. I got my whole V6 replaced after 3 years of use.
but way heavier too
How is this for hard floors (laminate and tiles)?
Anyone considered the new LG vacuum?
yes, LGA9 - awesome - i got DC59 - much better suction power and quieter.
One battery is more than enough - unless you always on turbo.
Battery on my current v6 just died after 1.5 years of occasional use. Genuine replacement battery costs $76, generic costs around $45. Just FYI
Battery on mine died after 6 months of the same. Thankfully under warranty still. However after 1.5 years I would still be making use of my rights under Australian Consumer Law, they should definitely be paying for that replacement.
Shorter runtime is part of wear and tear sure. But the battery dying is not.
My motor died just outside warranty. Dyson are the new Apple, expecting you to by a new iVacuum every 2 years.
sorry should have posted here instead

Anyone used this and the new Ryobi stick vac to cast a comparison? I already have an extensive range of Ryobi tools and plenty of batteries for large runtimes
Plenty on Youtube.
The Ryobi filter clogs up easily.
My Dyson the filter got clogged super easy too. I'd have to wash it after every second use and it took 2 days to dry.
So does our Dyson.
I'd probably go with the Ryobi. I had a look at one last week (we already have a Dyson) in the toolshop at Kotara. They have one powered up. Seeems to have a bit of grunt.
What's the difference with this Dyson and the one that's going to be on catch in a couple of days ?
Slim has a less wide vacuum head.
Why there are bad reviews for this model in bigw product page? 2.8/5 (20)
- frequent clogged up issues
- not enough suction power
Anyone who uses has faced such issues?
I have no such issues.
Does the job fine enough for me on the lowest setting. I walk around barefoot at home and it feels clean.
Only issue with this model is when emptying the dust bin. It's a pain to take off and put on.
Also, dust gets around the contact points and stops the motorhead from spinning.
Seems to me they are comparing a stick vac to a full size corded vac.
- You do need to empty the Dyson stick vacs often as their bins are quite small
- A stick vac will never have the same suction power as a full sized corded vac
Different purposes really. A stick vac is really just a secondary Vac that is handy to have around for quick clean ups.
Thanks both!
My honest opinion on those kind of reviews:
People only come online to complain, noone tends to deliberately feel so strongly that they will go online to leave 5-star reviews
People always massively Exaggerate in their reviews. "Oh no the box was dirty - 1 star", "oh no the battery only lasts 20min - 1 star"
I've had a V6 for a couple years and i think they're pretty great. Lasts long enough for a quick once-over for my entire 3-bedroom house, it feels clean, but i don't like to use it for the rugs or doormats etc because it just doesn't have the grunt
If you have small children, its perfect as not too heavy and you never have to vacuum again.
You meant not too heavy so can get the children to vacuum?
Yes
V6 animal is $349 at the moment
Just moved into an apartment, 20 mins seems to be OK for the size of the place to clean. Will this handle carpets fine too, or just hard floors?
Seems to be a few V6 models on sale right now, anyone who has experience with them think it's worth the extra $$ to get the more expensive models?
Or is there's a better deal atm?Dyson V6 Cord Free

Anyone know where to get replacement brush heads?
Picked up one just then. Stock located in WA, various NOR stores. Night peeps!
I have one of these and it has been a piece of shit. Always getting blocked up in the middle of a 2 minute job, the catch release is poorly designed and you need to stick a knife or similar piece up the sides of the chamber to clean it out. Suggest you look at the Bosch or lg products which are better
Got a click and collect in VIC this is a pretty good deal
Not available to purchase online (and no stock in WA)
