Cheaper from their ebay store using P5OFF.

    • Thanks grabbed one :)

    • Thanks, bought on ebay

  • Thought it was $349 in this week's big W catalogue?

  • Whats the difference between this, the v6 animal at big w for $329 and the v6 animal extra at JB for $349?

    • +1

Absolute has the most attachments I think. The Animal Extra replaced the Animal

  • It's the Animal Origin at Big W. I bought one this morning but now I'm thinking about cancelling the order. This has more attachments and has an extra filter to capture finer dust coming out of the exhaust. Seems good for an extra $50 on the Animal Origin. Plus when you account for the ebay vouchers it works out the same if you got the ebay vouchers.

  • What’s the deal with dyson, why do people buy this overpriced thing, what’s so special about it? I’ve compared specs many times and i can’t find anything worth paying extra couple hundred

Why so special about iPhone ? I guess you have to use one to be a believer, or hater :)

I bought a Dyson initially because I liked the concept and there really wasn’t much viable competition at the time.

I replaced it recently with another Dyson because i felt it was sufficiently better than the cheaper alternative (vax) I intended to replace it with. The cons with the Vax were only noticed when viewing and testing in person, not in the specs, including:
      - poor ergonomics.
      - difficult to remove stick
      - non washable filter.
      - charging jack not built into wall mount
      - brush removal from head difficult (3 Philips screws)

Dyson customer support was also a factor. Buying a replacement part on a long discontinued model was easy and surprisingly cheap.

But really, who am I kidding? I bought it because I want the respect, envy and adoration of my peers. Nothing says ‘I’m winning life’ like an overpriced appliance.

Our v6 has lasted several years now. If you expect yours to have a similar useful life, you are probably better off spending a bit extra for the v8 absolute with much better battery life.

  • the v7 was going for this price recently, via dyson website

    • but was it absolute? No absolute, no hepa.

      • its called cordfree, whats the difference with an absolute if you dont mind?

        • +1

I think the absolute comes with all the attachments (Direct drive cleaner head, Soft roller cleaner head, Combination tool, Crevice tool, Mini motorized tool) while the cordfree just comes with the Direct drive cleaner head. Actually, I don't think the v7 even has an absolute model (just fluffy and animal?)

  • i have ordered one thanks

  • Thanks ordered on eBay with code and store pickup!
