Detects and destroys formaldehyde, continuously¹

It combines a precise solid-state formaldehyde sensor with a unique catalytic filter that continuously destroys formaldehyde. HEPA H13 and activated carbon filters also capture dust, allergens, gases³ and other ultrafine pollutants. And Dyson purifiers have powerful Air Multiplier™ technology to purify the whole room.

Caveats
1. ¹Third party full machine testing based on GB/T 18801-2018 formaldehyde cumulative clean mass testing with continuous injection until plateau of formaldehyde CADR is achieved. Results may vary in practice
3. Gas capture rates may vary.
4. In maximum setting. Tested for air projection, purification coverage in a 81m3 room.

  • Isn't it this Vs. the decaying of plant material in the soil outside your window? Can we win?

    • Now you need noise cancelling headphones to silence the noise of the fan

    “destroys formaldehyde”,

    Bro gains +2 months lifespan

  • And loses 6 months worrying about the formaldehyde apocalypse…

    • Trumps tariffs will save us from those dirty illegal formaldehydes

oh wow $747 for a fan? what a strange world we live in

    • Not even AI or Cloud Based

    • Formaldehyde gonna get cha without one.

Received one of these as a gift a while ago.

    My criticisms would be that:
    - They're noticably not as good as my much cheaper, dedicated air purifiers.
    - Not good at maintaining temperature. (Eg. It senses that it is 21 degrees C, although it feels colder in the room. When you set the heater to the same temp, it keeps the fan on a quiet low idle speed which does nothing to maintain warmth. You set it to one degree above and it ramps up the fan speed to nothing too annoying, but not quiet. The temp in the room warms up noticeably well more than 1 degree and doesn't stop for a while. You cannot lower the fan speed at this point.)

Is the room actually hotter though? Ambient temperature vs what you feel with moving air can be difficult to gauge.

2 negs for your review - gotta love those Dyson fanatics

Don't think you need to worry about formaldehyde at homes.

Unless you're a med/vet student dissecting body/animal parts at home

  • +1

If it uses a catalytic filter to destroy formaldehyde then why bother with a precise solid state formaldehyde sensor?

The marketing wank on this one makes it an insult to buy

  • @OP please correct your post, this is a purifying fan, it doesn't have a heating function.
Only published difference between this and the new model is that the "de-nox" filter is better at breaking down formaldehyde into CO2 (arguably another pollutant) & H2O.
