    • It’s specified under ‘Plan Information & Terms’ at the deal link.

  • Groupon's deal still hasn't deliver yet ….

    • Groupon delivery takes a few days. Kogan direct is one or two

      • Nah, Groupon one is slow, mine said dispatched on 3rd from Melbourne, today is 10th in Sydney still hasn't got it yet.

  • Do you reckon will be eventually see this deal at $0.09? lol!

    • As an OZBer, I expect to see this deal at $0.01 eventually.

    • +1

      Or FREE?

      • It has been free - but it was before they upgraded the data on the plans. XL plan used to be 23gb data and a bunch of us got it for free including sim delivered. From memory this has been free, somewhere around $1, somewhere around $5 before - hence why i usually end up on kogan every second month lol.

  • can someone please tell me if this sim could work in a pocket wifi device?
    thank you

    • +2

      Yes it does

  • +1

OMG. This is crazy cheap. Thanks OP. I ordered one.

  • Pleasant surprise when I went to order this and found $10 credit from an OzB referral! :D

Also ordered the 90 day S coupon for $14.90 to use up the credit.

  • hi i would like to ask does this sim card allow hotspot to other devices?

    • Yes, I am using them with my pocket WiFi.

    • In Australia it's the device that dictates that, not the SIM. (Australian telcos don't deliberately block that - that's a USA thing.)

      • Some older Optus prepaid plans have blocked wifi hotspot sharing on iPhone.

  • Does Kogan check or care how many prepaid services you already have?

Because from them alone I probably have 4. Then I got a few Amaysims that are still active as PAYG.

    • +2

Kogan and all telcos only ask that as they are required to ask by law, same as doing id checks. Kogan itself couldn't care less. The federal government is the one who cares. You can have more than 5 but you will need to provide more ID, potentially in person as a result. See this. Answering falsely is fraudulent, having more than 5 isn't an issue in an of itself. Will you get pulled up on it? Unlikely.

      • I've had some providers call me up and check. And they will delay the activation until they confirm it. They actually asked me questions. Yomojo was the last one that did that. I think I had 4 active but there might have been one inactive that expired, and they called me up about it.

  • Need a new 365 day offer soon from these guys as my current plan ends sometime soonish (better check bet they don't warn you).

  • Are the vouchers being sent to email a bit slower than usual today ?

I ordered 3 and all came in minutes. Check your spam folder, and next time order later at night when there's no load on their system. The only time I've ever had trouble was when I ordered during the day or early evening.

  • ugh I ordered this two weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived! and I need to port tonight!!!

    • Thats the risk with the porting. It itself takes few days. I have gone without phone for few days in past. But worth it as I must have paid 10$ for whole year of unlimited calls

    • This is why you stack up Kogan Sims

      • Exactly. Buy 2, 3, 4, etc. - not one. Then keep one of those as a spare. Next time there's a cheap deal, you activate the SIM you already have using the email activation code. (The code arrives in your email in minutes, but the SIM card takes several days to arrive in the mail.)

When the SIM card you just ordered arrives in the mail several days later, put it away ready for next time to do it all again.

Occasionally they send a second SIM card when you order one. But to ORDER a spare SIM is normally $2. Since the free spare SIM rarely happens, paying 49 cents is worth it to have a spare SIM ready to activate next time without any delay.

  • I feel that using a second hand gumtree 4G wifi modem and these sims can mean cheap home wifi. You can have 100GB in 1.50$

    • Yeah - except Kogan doesn't always have these deals. They might have it month 1 & 2, but not month #3. Thought it has been more regular lately.

  • Activation or recharge must be made before the voucher expiry date.

Can this actually use for recharge??

    • No, new customers only

      • Saying 'new customers only' is confusing people.

You can't recharge an already-existing number, but the same person can buy 5x SIMs, activate all 5 at the same time (if they want to), using the new phone numbers printed on each SIM packet, all in the same name, and all paid for using the same credit card details (in 5x separate orders) - but each SIM only lasts 30 days unless recharged with a 'full price' recharge.

  • Bought one a few hours ago and still havent received the code for activation. Anyone know how long it takes?
I've got plenty of kogan sims lying around , so keen to activate!

    • It usually happens in 10 minutes. The ONE time it didn't for me, I had to phone them a couple of days later - something went wrong and they had to give me a new code over the phone. Check your spam folder too.

Kogan is the best. Envy Ruslan such a smart dude

  • Do these people know why people are jumping providers? And are they okay with it? This is what happen when you don't reward your customer base and attempt to expand by getting acquisition and 98% of them churned anyway.

    • Well obviously they must retain enough customers to make it profitable or they wouldn't continue doing it. He's probably buying discounted cheap data from Optus already paid for somehow but would have only been wasted. So Optus makes a small amount from Kogan for something they would have got $0 for, and Kogan retains a small percentage of people who stay and recharge.

      • You mean buying from Vodafone ? Kogan is Vodafone reseller

  • So once I activate the voucher do the 30 days start on that day or can I activate the voucher and wait till I need it like say in two months?

    • 30 days from when you activate

  • If I want to use this offer and the techniques described, for an iPad (data only) then I presume there's no need to port, just swap the sim out each month?

    • +1

30 days, but yes. Buy 4x SIMs if you want, activate all 4 before the activation expiry, and use 32GB each week if you want to - discarding each SIM as it runs out of data (or use it for phone calls).

  • Hey Guys,
Will the sim card be sent you once the order is placed, or will it only be sent after you activate with the voucher number emailed to you after ordering.
    Thanks

    • You can't activate without the SIM - you have to enter the last 10 digits of the SIM number.

      So you…

      1. Place order.
      2. Email arrives with an activation code you enter when signing up.
      3. SIM card is mailed.
      4. When SIM card arrives you activate online using the emailed activation code, and the last 10 digits on the SIM packet.

(Hence why many of us keep a spare SIM card. It means we can activate after step 2: the moment the emailed activation code arrives. And when the new SIM card finally arrives in the mail we keep that ready for next time.)

      • Oh okay, thanks very much mate

  • anyone having problem accessing paypal.com with their kogan connection? All other websites loading fine for me, only paypal seems to be blocked or something since yesterday night

    • I tried to pay Kogan using paypal once and it wouldn't work. I phoned them and they didn't know why. So I just use credit card/debit card instead.

Plenty of banks have a debit card feature now. e.g. Macquarie Bank is EXTREMELY easy to sign up online and then you have a debit card that shows as a "Mastercard" with online vendors (works like a credit card but money has to be in the account for the transaction to complete). This means if you want to use paypal for 'protection' - then you only keep $50 in the debit card account - so anyone that gets hold of your visa/mastercard debit card details, can't take more than what is sitting in the account.

  • Might be a stupid question but I have a new dual SIM phone. Have a cheap mobile plan with TPG but need extra data in the next few months. So I dont need to port any numbers. Can I just keep using these Kogan SIM's just for data or once I use one of the Kogan SIM's it will recognise I'm not a new customer?

    • "New customer only" effectively means "new account only". The same person can buy several SIMs (one SIM per order though), and activate them any time before the activation expiry date - and using the new phone number printed on each SIM packet. In other words, yes, one person can have multiple active SIMs - but each one must have its own separate phone number. (You could port your number to the first SIM card if you wanted to, but you can't port that same number to each new SIM without first porting out and back in again.)

  • This is Maaaddd lol

  • The 17GB, 7GB, and 3GB sims are also $0.49 so grab them as well if you require the multiple (spare) sims.

    • You can but 32gb multiple times nonnees to buy other sim

  • Recommend me a provider to port out to please ….

    • telstra

  • What's the voucher expiry date?
    Edit: Nov 8, got it

  • I got an email welcoming me back to Kogan.

Wondering if they will send a new SIM as I threw out the last one.

Are we guaranteed to get a new SIM card with this deal?

EDIT: Read the description. Free SIM Card included.
