Not really a bargain when the last post expired just over a week ago (9/12/24) & was cheaper -

Telstra $320 365 Days Prepaid SIM Starter Kit (165GB + 95GB Bonus if Activated by 10/03/2025) $269 Delivered @ Telco Biz Traders

Also Boost is cheaper after $39 cashback @CR for the 265GB $300 sim.

      Hi,
This post is for $350 Telstra sim.
$320 Telstra sim has been discontinued.

We also have $300 Boost sim for $247.50
      https://www.telcobiztraders.com.au/product/boost-300-prepaid…

      Thanks

So what's the difference between the discontinued $320 sim and the $350?

        • We did explain that in our earlier reply that it has been discontinued. In addition to that Telstra has raised the price from $320 to $350.
Hope this will clear that out.
          thanks.

@Telcobiz: Hence why I said it's not really a bargain. In other words price rises aren't bargains.

            • +4

@WatchNerd: The Lowest price of left overs stock of discontinued $320 sim is $300 and above and we are selling $350 sim for $285
We respect your opinion but don't necessarily have to agree with you though.
              Thanks

              • @Telcobiz: You would have loved the times when this site was OzInstock for PS5s.

              • @Telcobiz: Even when you spell it out some people on this site won't get it.

            • +1

@WatchNerd: Disagree. The old prices are history and we have to move on. They are gone finite. It’s like Cole’s raising its prices due to inflation. The fact is that these guys offer a discount to the current Telstra price which is a bargain. Sure it was cheaper last week but you can’t get that anymore.

        • $30 and they might turn off some of your network functions if they want you to upgrade your phone…

  • Hmm. My Boost year long Sim is finishing up soon. Thinking of adding credit then finding a good deal after Xmas. Maybe a monthly pan or something with a big gift card.

  • So if I'm currently with Telstra prepaid, then I need to port out to another provider? any recommendation? How long do I need to port out before I can port back in?

    • +1

      Hi,
There is no time restrictions you can port back in next day but better to wait for couple of days to avoid network complications.
      Thanks

Some people have had luck calling Telstra and getting it activated against their active SIM with bonus data etc.

  • This is actually a good deal for me and I jumped on it. My Boost 365 day plan expires 8/01 and I'm having all sorts of issues in Perth CDB where Boost data becomes unusable in the afternoons. I was planning to swap to Telstra Direct prepaid anyway to check if the performance is any better, wife has Optus and we want network diversity between us in case of outages.

    • +1

      Glad it worked for you.

      • rep, does this SIM have WIFI calling?

    • Shouldn't they both have the same coverage?

      • Not really, 3 same models Aus Samsung 5G phones in our area - Campbelltown, NSW
Boost: outdoors/indoors struggling to get data/phone reception on 5G or 4Gonly
        Wollies: no problem
        Telstra prepaid: no problem
        Numobile(Telstra): same as Boost

        • So boost doesn’t have full Telstra acccess or boost traffic ranks behind Telstra?

          • @Be careful: Based on my isolation tests, yes. Even swapped phones to ensure issue not caused by phone/hardware. Since 3G shutdown the issue persisted. Most likely traffic management inplace that affects performance. My wife on Wollies service dont have any issue. Friend on Postpaid Telstra don't have issue.

      • They should, but many colleagues in my office are Telstra direct and don’t have same issues I have which has followed me across multiple phones with boost.

    • Out of interest, is there any difference between boost and Telstra? I know boost use the Telstra network but often the resellers don’t give quite the same quality. I.e. traffic ranks behind Telstra traffic. Other resellers don’t get full access to the network etc .

  • I'm on the Boost mobile, can I register Telstra as a new customer.

    • Hi ,
Yes you can but you have to contact Telstra customer care to port your number.
      Thanks

  • i'm thinking to buy it, anyone bought it from them? any issues?
    thanks

  • 4 purchased and delivered express thanks @Telcobiz

    • Thank you for buying from us.
      You are welcome!

  • May I ask what does "the first recharge included" mean ?

    • This term is used to describe that the sim already loaded with the value mentioned on the sim card i.e $350
      Thanks

  • This is currently cheaper at Auditech for $282

    https://www.auditech.com.au/telstra-350-prepaid-sim-starter-…

  • Just ordered one of these. Was wanting to switch to Telstra to get better network coverage. This makes Telstra prepaid effectively the same per-month cost as the Telstra wholesale network prepaid resellers (Woollies, More mobile, etc). Thanks Telcobiz!

    • You are welcome @axloz
      Good comparison.
      Thanks
