    Silent sweep-hand clocks are very expensive, so I think it's just overenthusiastic marketing copy. Sweep hand clocks are more expensive than the ticking kind,and they are quite a bit quieter (But still not silent in general).

    There are some other reviews that make me very wary.

    This is cute, but I've owned it for 3 months and it's not keeping time. I've changed the battery a couple of times and it doesn't fix the problem. A clock that doesn't work isn't much use to me.
