    DiDi had loads of incidents in China, recently a few young girls wore raped and murdered taking this rideshare service. They only apologised after a few of murders to their customers. They sent two twenty some employees carrying a few cases of milk to the funeral in T-Shirts and Jeans. Poor young guys didnt even know what to say and smiles a lot. very poor managed and disgusting company, the only thing they care about is money, nothing else. It is run by some elite group to maximise profit. Sad thing is their isn't much competitor in China to DiDi, it's huge after defeated Uber in China.

    That's terrible. Unfortunately, I don't think Uber or Olá are much better than that.
    I caught a Uber overseas, the driver didn't know how to turn on the AC and was driving sanegrously. Police stopped the car with the guns in hand because the colour of the car had been modified. The officers were very aggressive, like they frequently are in developing countries. They asked the driver about the colour of the car. The driver justified saying "the car is not mine, I got from someone else this morning". He was driving a car registered with another driver. The car had been illegally modified (painted using different colour). Police probably saw the pessengers shaking and thinking they were going to die… (if you think that's too far from reality, that's probably because you have never been to a developing country where Police and the bad guys kill each other on a daily basis, and frequently shot before even asking questions). Police let us go (because we were passengers!).

    I sent an email to Uber talking about the illegal car, the driver who was not the one registered with Uber and didn't know how to operate the basic functions of the car, and admitted he was driving for someone else. Uber said they were sorry about my bad experience and offered the equivalent of 25% of the total cost of the trip as a compensation, which will be less than $4. That's extremely poorly managed considering the events.

    So, Uber "might" have a better control in Australia but given that we are comparing what they do overseas, I think they are pretty much the same. You are being naive if you think Uber cares about anything but money.
