I was going to post this same deal earlier this week, but then I couldn’t find anywhere to actually buy tickets (or any ticket price, anywhere) and the “Free ticket” page looks more like a “give us all your details, sign up, and we will never ever will leave you alone”. Then I had nightmares of JV ~~bulling~~ making a condemning comment for some reason and I decided not to post.

  That's the price you pay for free events in general. You can always create a separate email account for that.

These events are always free, you rock up on the day and they usually have a bunch of screens where you can enter your details before heading in the door.

  I would rather get my tickets in advance then joining the queue to register on the day. There is no obligation to attend anyway.
