  • What kind of light intensity? Would 30 of these be enough to properly light a room if attached to the ceiling?

    • +1

You're willing to spend $800+ to do that?

      • probably collecting dust after 1 month, then end on ebay (gumtree), or worse landfill.

      • Additional panels should not set you back that much.

      • I thought these were very expensive at first but then thought, my pendants, chandeliers and other light fixtures are $1000+ in each room. I considered getting 4 of these or a larger kit for the study/gaming room.

        • These won't last as long as expensive light fixturestho

        • And where do you keep your expensive jewellery? ;)

    • +1

      A $40 light fixture + a $5 1400lm LED globe certainly would.

    • Yes, I have 18 and their output is ~1800 lumens. So 3000 lumens should be enough to light a large room.

      • Probably costs more to run as well

You can get it for $225, free delivery, with the current eBay code:

  • I'm actually looking for the panels. 9 pieces looks neat but unimpressive.

  • This is the old model with triangular panels and a 30 panel limit.

The new model has larger square panels and a 1000 panel limit.

I'd personally skip the old model.

Note also the expansion packs work out around $30 per panel.

    • Are you sure? I can’t find any information relating to new square panels on their website.

Early release this month, full release later this year.

The Nanoleaf Roadmap webpage has more details.

        • Thank you for posting the link! It’s important to note that even that article posits that the new ones are likely to be significantly more expensive… so anyone not interested in the motion sensing, touch sensitivity, massive expansion possibilities or square shape would be better off getting this deal. That’s why I think the deal here is good for people who are looking for interesting accent lighting at a reasonable price.

misread it as $23 for a second :(

  • $239 is the sale price? whats the usual price? Its currently cheaper on ebay

  • I bought this for $239 a few months ago and I think it’s great. As accent lighting in my apartment, I don’t need a new design or the ability to extend to dozens of a panels. I think this kit is great for most people who want a bit of decorative feature lighting.

  • I've got these as night lights in my kids bedroom. It's pretty cool and puts them to sleep.

  • Were $200 earlier this year https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/360358. Imagine they may go down a bit more once the square ones are released?

  • July is title improvement month.

    • In future, please mention the store/retailer in the title.

That's been fixed. Moderators and power users spend time fixing titles throughout the day and any help is appreciated. Thanks for posting!
