eBay.com 15% off Sitewide ($25 USD Min Spend, $100 USD Max Discount Per Transaction)

6250
PERFECTDAY
This post contains affiliate links. OzBargain might earn commissions when you click through and make purchases. Please see this page for more information.

It is time to move to USA once again for a 15% site-wide deal on ebay.com starting at 8am PST until about 7pm 11pm (extended) PST on the 29th June (Saturday 30th June for us and please do the timezone conversion based on your location)

The word spreading on the interwebs is that it won't be a 20% like last time but 15% is always better than the current 10% off coupon running on ebay Australia. Again similar to last time you will be able to purchase ebay AU items provided you move to USA in time.

For moving/relocation instructions see here

      lolwut

    • You didn't actually read the deal did you?

    • hahhaha

  • Would this code work for purchases that one has already committed to from eBay.com.au (items sitting in cart)?

    • If they are in your cart, then you aren't committed yet.
Once you've pressed "buy now", you're locked in to whatever terms you agreed to.
If you haven't paid yet, its beside the point. Have you agreed to 'buy' the items?

      • Hey UFO, yes I clicked 'buy it now' today

        • i think you need to checkout before it is final

        • @pinkybrain:

Check out is only when you add an item to the cart and keep shopping before committing.
If you press Buy It Now, you've committed and just have to arrange payment.

I use my shopping cart to compare items before buying… I never press "buy it now". "Always add to cart".

      • Long version:

I used the "make an offer" feature to bargain down the price of a camera I was interested in on eBay.com.au which I then accepted and committed to buy.
Then this 15% off code came up. So I did the right thing and moved to the states, completed the purchase on ebay.com
It has been confirmed by eBay and paypal so now I'm deciding whether to stay here a bit longer or move back to stralia..

        Short version: Yes.

  • oh no doesnt work with qd_au this time!

    • -1

lol why do I get voted down…it is true. i go ebay.au search item, then make it ebay.com and the item disappeared.

    • Actually work now if you add to cart on eBay.au then go to eBay.com checkout. Excellent

If you purchase anything from overseas, you are only saving around 6.5%. It is close to July 1.

    • +2

They intend to rely on sites like ebay US and amazon US to collect the GST and pay the Australian government.

The procedure for parcel clearance and the $1000 limit is not changing.

Doesn't matter if your parcel arrives after July 1. As long as the purchase is made before July 1 no GST will need to be paid if less than $1000.

      • +1

I wonder what should be the case if you buy when it's July 1 here but still June 30 there?

      • The procedure for parcel clearance and the $1000 limit is not changing.

Of course it's changing. They would need some way to tell which parcels have paid GST and which ones haven't. Holding all parcels over $1000 until you provide proof that you've paid GST is just asking for trouble.

        • Nah, is it really changing or are you saying you know? Because they can and they will (carry on doing it the normal way, at least in the beginning).

In the 2nd phase, eBay will help vendors get the commercial invoices declared with GST.

In the 3rd phase, they will have some form of multi-million dollar system (paid for in blood) that uses QR codes hooked up to ebay's cart that allows the parcels to be scanned rather than requiring a small number of humans who are all better off out of work (or programming robots to replace others, of course). But of course the system will be flat out getting half of the parcels scanned, others scanned wrong and more people will be needed because the multi-billion dollar system leaves them all upside down or on end after other people had placed the parcels the right way around on the way in.

Version 2 will require less people, cost half as many billions and be paid for in full by importers who will be paying higher admin fees to collect dutiable parcels. will have to prove its been paid, or pay it the way they do now, (plus fees and duties).

        • @resisting the urge:

Nah, is it really changing or are you saying you know? Because they can and they will (carry on doing it the normal way, at least in the beginning).

So come July 1, they're going to start holding all packages over $1000 … even if you've bought from a foreign vendor on Amazon Australia and paid GST? Seems (profanity) up.

In the 2nd phase, eBay will help vendors get the commercial invoices declared with GST.

This makes sense, as long the end merchant is aware of it and uses ebay systems for shipping. If they use their own, then the package would probably get held up.

In the 3rd phase, they will have some form of multi-million dollar system

Again, would only work in the merchant uses ebay's shipping features. You're out of luck, the moment they start shipping the package themselves.

      • Will the TRS scheme remain and also the $900 import threshold?

        • yup - no change there

  • Damn can't use my price protection if it's eBay US and not eBay AU….

  • Can we use eBay Gift Card that I bought from Woolies in eBay US?

    • +1

      No

      • +1

Aren't we using the AU site though?

  • Will Click & Collect (eg at The Good Guys) available from eBay US?

    • Yes keen to know too. I cannot see any ebay stores on US ebay, leet alone Australian stores. Let me know if you figure it out.

    • Unfortunately Click & Collect option disappeared when changing to eBayUS.
Therefore I had to find another seller that offer free delivery, but I have to wait for a week for delivery.
Well, I don't mind waiting for delivery for $70 saving :)
      Thanks OP

  • -1

Gonna buy sth I don't need tomorrow. Hope it works on ebay plus thing too so I can get free delivery from local sellers.

    • But ebay plus is Australian, so when you switch to US it probably won't work.

      • -1

Oops,da means we have to go through ebay US to purchase Australian items? @@

  • +3

    • what is their obsession with P words…

    • code doesn't work

      • +1

Shop for eligible items from specific sellers

        • +1

          yeah just realized that

I check those seller (which are US stores) and their shipping cost will be too great
and most of those items I have no interest in getting..

so this code is useless to me.

  • Would this work for items that have been won through an auction? I have an item that I am yet to pay for, so would anybody know if i could change to US address & use the code to get the 15%?

    • Could you please try it tomorrow and report back?

15% off might give me a little more bidding power tomorrow haha

      • +1

Just done it & it worked. Thanks OP for sharing.

  • +1

Can I pick up in the US?

  • I've been trying to set up an address to a USA version but any time I selected United States of America in the drop down it takes me back to the account settings…

Is this happening for anyone else..?

EDIT: NVM - I figured out what to do.

    • And what did you do?

      • +1

Set my address to Australia, saved it, then updated it USA.

  • Any minimum spend?

Surprised I haven't seen a "code doesn't work" comment yet - or I've probably just missed it..

    • Well apparently it is on tomorrow so no one can check yet.

  • -1

Ebay.com offers me 20% off for my birthday … maybe for their independence day.. anyway same day… The code is partyingusa. Better to try… Max $50 off. Good lucky.

    • Hey, I'm not sure about that - I am reading everywhere that the code is meant to apply sitewide but PARTYINUSA doesn't appear to apply to all businesses.

    • +1

I think that code is selected sellers.

  • Can I use this to purchase Officeworks stuff

    • Yes you should be able to without issue

  • Of course I choose this time to be broke. :(

  • First time moved to USA XD
Can't use the 20% off for my A$286 item, have to wait for the code tonight

  • Does anyone know if Officeworks is participating?

    • Yes, this coupon does not restrict Officeworks unless they manually close up shop

  • PSA: Make notify eBay you are flying back to Australia after the sale.

I forgot last time and was wondering why the eBay deals on OzB weren’t working.

  • +10

Instructions unclear. Bought plane ticket to USA

    • +1

All good. As long as bought plane ticket from OzB deal.

  • Will be good for items that don't fall under eBay plus since it won't be available when on eBay US. Unfortunately for ones that do, the $20 flat postage will negate the discount of cheaper items :(

  • +1

So errm.. for working out import tax after July 1, is it based on sale date, or shipping date, or when it arrives at customs?

    • I'd like to know too

    • +1

      For gst sale date

    • +1

      Sale date.

      • Will that be labeled anywhere on the box though?

  • +2

    Crucial MX 500 1TB will be $233 Delivered :)

    • great deal

but 1tb seems overkill for me

but can't find 240/500gb good deals

the intel 535 360gb got price hiked already

  • So all these Discount codes are region locked? As I can no longer use PICKSMITH code after changing to USA
    - and how many times can we change our region without issues?

    • +1

Keep changing and let us all know.

      • Were u able to use PICKSMITH code after changing?

  • So what's is that in real Aussie time? Anyone worked it out yet?

  • Thinking of getting Air Jordans. Not sure if I should get via US eBay or AU

  • It's one transaction limit?

    • Yes

  • +3

    The code could be "PERFECTDAY"

    • Code working for me as of now.

      • +1

        Told you

        • Which eBay store do you get the crystal ball from? 😄

        • +1

          @O O: ^__^

        • @Turd:

Can you use it on ebay.com.au?

I get an error "We ran into a problem. Please try again later."

        • +1

@Presjar: OP has the link but..

Go on your ebay account and go to account settings
Then on left hand menu go to addresses and change Registration address to USA (do not change delivery address)
You should get a message congratulating on your move to the US and then click submit
Then browse on the AU site and see what you want to buy, when you know and have the product page - amend the url to ebay.com (instead of .com.au)
If done successfully you should see the price in AUD and dollars
Add to basket and choose paypal

        • @Turd:

I did that and completed the USA change, but looks like it won't work for my item :(

I get no buy options after changing .com.au to the .com site

          AU https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-LEGO-Technic-Mack-Anthem-420…

          USA Broken https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-LEGO-Technic-Mack-Anthem-42078-…

        • @Presjar: ahh that sucks… 167 at amazon with new user signup and 10% off NAB card might help u

        • @Turd:

Found it cheaper and it worked for the extra 15% off

        • @Presjar: Let's hope they have stock and dont "cancel" due to no stock, they did it to me when I used codes for the silent mary and bucket excavtor. dodgy practises.
