Free 1 Month Plex Pass Trial (Save $6.49)

GOAL

Found this Free 1 month trial in an email from Plex which works on current free accounts - Similar to this popular deal from Hamza - cancel straight away so you don't pay anything after the trial finishes

To get you hyped for the international soccer (football, futbol) matches, we’re offering 30 days of Plex Pass for FREE — all you need is a compatible tuner and antenna! Plex Live TV and DVR features our easy-to-use channel guide and powerful search, so you can quickly tune into the games you want to watch (or record!).

Basically you don't need to add the Tuner and Antenna but still get the full features of a Plex Pass - (would've been handy for a recent OS trip where I found I couldn't stream my collection)

Enjoy!

  • i just signed into plex and upgraded but cant figure out how to stream the new channels [i dont have a tuner/antenna]

so is this useless for those who just use it for streaming?

    • +1

Plex is mostly for streaming your own collection of movies and tv shows. If you have a TV tuner it can also be used to stream live tv(and I think record for playback later).

      • Yeah that was the main reason I was posting - as mentioned in the post, I recently went on an OS trip and found I could no longer stream to my iPad or phone and would have to pay for a pass to be able to stream my collection from my server…this may be good for that reason or to just see what else it offers ;)

        • Just set up a VPN at home (or port forward on your router if you're bold).

          Or pay for plex.

        • Umm what? You don't need a Plex pass to stream over internet. You do need it if you want to download/sync the files.

        • @ashanrath:

That's what I thought but it would only show me 1 minute and then ask me to buy a plex pass to continue… I've been using it for years too

EDIT - as per your link 'Our mobile apps (Android, iOS, Windows, Windows Phone) can be used for free, but have limitations.
Until the mobile app is unlocked (through an in-app purchase or a Plex Pass subscription), video and music streamed from a Plex Media Server has a 1 minute limit, and photos will be watermarked.'

        • @ashanrath: You can only stream for free to desktops and TV. To use on mobile devices you need the pass unless u prefer watching stuff for a minute or less.

        • @urbancartel: Yeah, missus had the same issue until she purchased the full app through the in-app purchase. It was fine after.

        • @0FoxGiven: you can just buy the app. It's been free before.

        • @Chickfilo: You could have just used the infuse app on iOS to access the plex media, its free and arguably looks better than the Plex app.

        • @0FoxGiven: Thanks and tried that app… I think the Plex app is much better. Load times were much quicker and also Infuse can't access LiveTv, photos, podcast etc. It makes you pay to allow chromecast as well so it's not entirely free. For less than $8 to unlock the full Plex app, you'll also be supporting the Plex devs which is a bonus.

    • I don't have a Live TV streaming box such as HDHome Run. I bought the Plex Pass to support the Devs and there are some nice features in Plex Pass, such as:

      • Upload Camera roll
      • Cloud Sync
      • Mobile Sync
      • Share playlists
      • Parental Controls

I wish divipay could get their service sorted out so I can sign up for things like this without having to worry about cancelling
