I had the same reaction when I first heard of this brand. It’s made in France and has a lifetime warranty. We got them off gumtree at a much lower price, although this price is actuallly not too bad
Warranty - you need to return it to the bricks and mortar store that you bought it from.
Edit: if you buy from this seller YOU WILL NOT HAVE LIFETIME WARRANTY. Need to buy it from one of their authorised dealers.

Yep. Specifically mentions Needofthedayau… and no warranty if you buy off that ebay seller.
The fact you need to bring to a bricks-and-mortar distributor, makes you want to buy at a place like TGG (like I did).
What makes it worth $292?
Nothing.
We brought one of these, the castors broke in the first week because of the absolute rubbish design. It also kept blowing the mains supply not the greatest heater for the price.
I agree, they are largely a panel for wall mounting and the castors are an afterthought. They work very well on the real though. Did you have any other high power on the same circuit? It won't take too many heaters on a single circuit to start blowing it.
