that post links playstation games deals and not PS4 Pro

    • BIG W

    • +2

Even if it was contained in that list, this post would still fall under the duplicate post exception, as that post does not or made no attempts to list the console on sale in the title.

      • It's bending the rule don't you think? Clearly, that deal cannot possibly put controller and console details on the title. However, it is the most comprehensive one since prices from multiple sellers are there (so you can see PS4 Pro prices from multiple sellers).

We don't see people re-posting controllers from that deal, do we? Cannot help but feel this is here to gather PS4 fan boy votes.

My controller deal was posted before that deal was posted FYI. The poster could have identified more bargains in the title if they didn't put all the store names.

That rule is fair enough considering that if someone sees a bargain within a big post that isn't outlined in the title, they should be able to make their own post to highlight it.

        • @doweyy: Posted before that deal, all good. This is after that deal and after the BigW deal.

This deal rely on the NAB credit card rebate and new customer rebate. Otherwise, it is the same price as the BigW deal.

BTW, now you mentioned your deal, I do recall seeing it, now I've +ve voted that deal. First person to post it, I most certainly am happy to positive vote it. Already been posted, sorry no vote from me.

          @netsurfer:

Completely understandable, I just think that even if there's a post with a massive amount of items and links, some people might miss a good bargain and someone else posting it might advise them of it :)

        • @doweyy: Well, if OP acknowledged the other post and mentioned it just had too many items listed so it might be hard to find, then it is kinda okay for me.

The first reaction I saw this deal was: I already saw it few hours ago.

Someone reported it is now showing $519. So, if you don't have a NAB credit card, even with the $20 voucher, it is the same as BigW's $499. If the price continued to stay at $519, this deal basically has expired.

I've had this happen personally with my posts, when I couldn't fit all my items I've picked for a post not fit in a title. Unfortunately, it's the rule, but it's also to avoid encouraging someone from posting every single discounted item from all stores without curating the post to consider which are objectively actually good deals.

Incorrect, the post you refer to about the comprehensive list (that also advertises a third party site), actually re-posts some of the earlier posts which I have identified here, with zero credit to those earlier posts. Also this post, as pointed out by the OP, is for a PS4 Pro from Amazon, which isn't in that post anyway.

That seems like the case for the black version, the white version as pointed out by stainedteatowel, is still $499 as of the timestamp of this comment. (I've asked mods to modify the post's link)

          @netsurfer:

I'm sure everyone on here lives near a shopping centre. You're forgetting delivery cost of. $9.90 to $15.90. also forgetting that big W site says usually says it's out of stock or delivery isn't available.

If you're able to get it cheaper, why not? Can't see what your issue is.

Damn. I should have really pulled the trigger on Boxing Day

    • +3

You could have got it < $350 with the AMEX cashback back then…

        To legit to quit !

        • If you're going to post it, at least spell it correctly!

  • Hey people I saw this too but didn't seem like a deal.should I just wait a few months? Will it get cheaper?

    Thx

    • It will definitely get cheaper in November/December (around 400 bucks or less). It's unfortunate I didn't buy one around that time last year.

      • I am holding off till christmas/boxing day.. the gen1 ps4 is going fine at the moment.

  • Showing 519 to me. Expired ?

    • Bought one for $499 an hour ago, now showing $519 for me. Maybe expired?

      • Yeah, it's weird. It showed 499$ this morning for me, but now is 519$. Hopefully tomorrow it turns back to 499$.

Only the white shows $499 for me

      • sony deal was better for $499 with 2 controllers.

        • +2

Forgetting the cost of going back in time.

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:

It shows that there will better deals if you are willing to wait.

There's always a better deal around the corner.

Not to mention upcoming Xmas deals

        • +1

@pinkybrain: sure that's true. but that was a click frenzy deal. I don't see any major deal occasion coming up soon.

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:

          Xmas dude, Xmas.

If they can't sell these, then they need to clear the stock.

There was also the Shopping Square deal at $447 or something.

I am in no rush to get PS4 Pro and I know I can wait for a better deal..

I have bought items on here which I thought was a bargain at the time, only to see a much better deal later on.

If there's one thing I learnt from ozbargain, there's always a better deal around the corner.

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:

If you must get PS4 Pro now, then get this deal.
          Else wait.

With Amazon AU doing these big deals, it will be interesting this Xmas to see what they do.

They are starting to give some good deals lately..

e.g. Xbox One S Minecraft Edition

@pinkybrain: yeah from black friday on, it'll get better. Seeing as ps5 is nearing.

Has anyone got it from Costco recently? And what firmware did it come with?
