Only $205 for a 64gb S6 (it says "includes" $125 bonus so assuming that is the total, not $205 + $125??). Then I guess you have to pay full RRP for the upgrade, so sounds like a rip off to me! Better off selling privately. Just have to laugh at Samsung RRP these days, $1349 for a bloody phone.

In all honesty, we can thank Apple for that. They are allowing people to think a phone is worth 1.5k…. No way it is.

      • Worth is what people pay for it.

        • Yes. And people think it's worth it when there are Apple products of equal value, only inflated much further.

      • You can also easily find these phones on sales elsewhere for $800-900. RRP is always a rip…

    $535+$125 is $660.

    I also think that the $535 already includes the bonus i.e. it is $410 + $125 = $535

    • +1

      Yeah I agree.
      535 Max is my interpretation

    • If you check the S8+ 64GB, then go to Trade In Online, again select S8+ 64GB it the value is $640.

      • Yes S8+ is coming up as 640

    • Yeah, it does

      Samsung Galaxy S8+ 64GB

If your device meets all of the below conditions, you could receive:

      $535 Credit^

Includes a bonus $125. For a limited time only, offer ends 31 May 2018.

  • How is this a bargain?

    • +2

      It is for Samsung lol

  • The old trusty Galaxy Note 4 has a trade in value of $305 before 31 May..not bad.

    • +2

      I think $180 already includes the $125.

      • Damn, you're right.

    • What about note 3 lmao?

  • +2

    For Samsung S7,

With everything working in perfect condition: $280 (includes $125 of bonus credit). This means that without the bonus credit, a perfect condition S7 only worth only $155.

However, for S7 with crack screen and some other minor problem, it's worth $180.

What kind of trade is that?

Blah, can't trade the old trusty Galaxy Nexus :)

  • Not to mention your credit is for RRP, probably save more on a sale than you would get trading your phone in for most people.

  • But you would have to buy the new Galaxy at full RRP, which is ridiculously high.

    • Because you're getting a credit for it in your account,or just wait for Samsung Sale and buy it.

  • So Shamesung will buff the phone and sell it to "other markets" as factory refurbished?

  • And yet there will be people dumb enough to go for it

I think is not a bad deal as you're getting $640 for S8+ 64GB, credited to your account, save the money and wait for Samsung online sale.

        1. Read the T&Cs it says " Price quoted is based on trading in a Samsung Galaxy S8+ in full working condition until 31 July 2018 and is inclusive of a $125 discount on the purchase price of a Galaxy S9, S9+ or Note 8."

        Keyword. Inclusive.

      • Yeah, in the meantime, have no phone to use

  • +6

Wow, I can trade in Note 8 for $785, and get a new Note 8 for $1399. So I just have to pay extra $614.

  • Just to confirm, ran it right through to the checkout with an S8+ to trade in:

    Upfront discount $125*
PLUS up to $515^ post trade in

The $125 is a discount on the new purchase, brought the price of the S9 down from $1,199.00 to $1,074.00, then the $515 trade in credit is applied = $559.

    OP is correct.

$125 is an Upfront Trade In Discount on the new phone, not credit applied to your account.

  • Will they take overseas stock or just Australian stock?

    • They have no reason to take anything that wasn't purchased here.

      • Wrong - see my comment below

    • You need to provide your phone's IMEI when trade in.

Not worth trading up an S8 for S9. It's just a minor refresh.

Would be worth doing if it was S9 to S10 though, or S7 to S8. The even numbered ones are the big updates. The odd numbered ones are like Apple's 5S, 6S, 7S.. 9? In other words, not worth upgrading to from the previous gen.

  • is it worth trading a s8+ for a a note 8?

    • No.

It's the same phone, same specs, but with a pen. Not worth the few hundred dollar changover price for a pen.

The trade in value is fair, but you'll be buying their phone at full price instead of being able to shop around.

  • For those interested in doing this, I traded-in my S7 Edge dual sim (grey model from overseas) back in march under this scheme. They gave me $385 for it.

For me it was worthwhile as the camera on my S7E had stopped working and Samsung wouldn't touch it given it was purchased from overseas, which meant it would be worth stuff all if I tried selling it.

They only gave the exterior a quick once over for any signs of damage/cracks/chips etc and didn't check anything else. The phone was in pristine condition apart from the camera fault.

I ended up walking out with a S9+ coral blue for $964.

    • My S7E doesn't work for longer than 5 minutes. It shuts down randomly. I don't think I can get a good cashback from it.

  • Trading in a S8+

    S9+ 64GB Price: $1,349
    Minus promo -$125
    Minus trade in -$535

    Purchase price: $689

Don't think it's worth it. The upgrade to me is only worth about $300 imo plus I love the S8+

  • I entered my imei for grey import note 8, change over price for S9+ is $534

Not too bad but I love my note 8

  • This is not a deal, you still can get it cheaper from Costco outright than trading it with a Galaxy S6 for $170, ripoff!! Samsung!!

  • Will you be able to trade in S8+ bought from kogan(international edition)?

    • It's working, I got 515 for an S8+. Last time instore they did not allow grey imports.
