Note: grey import, warranty may require return shipping to Hong Kong (paid for by you). These guys don't have a great reputation here on OzB

    • Friend bought a Mi A1 from there. Wasn't happy with the camera. I told her to either sell it or put up with it. Easier than sending it back to them.

  • +2

Dammit. Needed a phone semi urgently and bought one yesterday…

Plus side Au stock from QD on Ebay so should arrive today or Monday.

    • +1

Please could you let me know what you bought?

      • +1

Used an eBay code, possibly PULL 5 on https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142742583968

if that doesn't work (trying to post on phone) search for the last few Nokia 6 posts here and find seller QD on eBay.

        Mod: Fixed link

        • Thank you. Copy and paste from ebay app.

        • +1

Thanks for that - just checking it out

    • What provider be good with my bands? LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 40(2300)

      • Depends where your using phone, whether you get good reception with B3 ( used by all 3 Telcos ), B1 ( used mainly by Telstra & Optus ), B5 ( Only used by Vodafone but an Important band for rural ), B7 ( Telstra & Optus ), B8 ( sparingly used by Telstra ), B40 ( sparingly used by Optus ).

As you are missing B28, Telstra & Optus might not work too good in some rural/regional areas.

You have all three bands ( B1/B3/B5 ) used by Vodafone, so if you have decent Vodafone reception where you plan on using your service, I would go for them as they also provide great value data inclusions.

Kogan uses Vodafone, awesome value there if getting 12 months prepaid with 30%-40% off deals posted here regularly.

You can get Apps to check which towers/Bands are operating in your area.

Nokia can, why cant Apple make a phone with that spec and price.

    • Because Apple….

    • Apple is not run by dumb people. It would be dumb to move from devices with large profits to mid ranges devices with almost no profit.

      • We need something like hackintosh for phones, I'm disappointed someone clever hasn't thought of how to do this

      • well i’ve been inside an apple store in melbourne , staffed by apple, there to help with device use or on the spot warranty issues, not cheap to run ….. haven’t found a nokia store …….

    • There's a reason why a $300 phone costs $300. The camera on this isn't amazing. It's as good as the Mi A1 if you compare them on gsmarena. Good enough for some (and me), but others might want a better camera. You get what you pay for. Apple phones have really good cameras.

    • they are busy looking after a different demographic that is time poor and money rich ….. same as why doesn’t vue de monde or rockpool do $16 steak like the local pub instead of $50 steak …..

Have been keeping an eye on the Nokia 6 for a little while. I bit at $301 delivered. OS warranty is OK for me as Paypal covers the return postage.

    • Hi BlinkyBill,

how does Paypal cover return postage please? Just curious what you mean.

      Thanks

      • +3

Up to 8 returns per year up $45 refunded for postage costs. I've used it once before. Credit showed up pretty quickly to my PP account.

O_O This is news to me. I might check it out.

        • Thats great - thanks for that. Wasn't aware

        • N.B. "lodge your refund request within 150 days of the date you purchased the item to which the refund request related", so essentially you're covered for 5 months, minus the initial delivery time

        • @RiseAndRuin:

Odd I returned a phone to Hong Kong well after 5 months, more like 8 months and was credited back about $20 return postage.
          1. Either they don't police it
          2. Terms may have changed (I last used the service in April 2016, for a purchased made in August 2015)

      • Did you end up getting the Nokia 6.1 2018 from this deal or from ebay qd_au?

See it now down to $269 + del @ eglobal.

  • Not bad - no mention on whether this is a dual sim model though?

There's a "Dual Sim Notice" tab but that's shown for all phones, even those that definitely don't support dual sim…

Better deal, especially if you aren't afraid to flash twrp and grab an excellent rom with OTA updates.

    • +1

No Band 28 or wireless charging so may not be better for everyone…

  • eGLOBAL = buyer beware
    No local warranty.
Don't abide by Australian Consumer Law.

ACL typically recognise phones as 2 yr warranty however EGLOBAL only do 12 months.
Ignore the following sentence in their warranty policy: "The above time limitation doest not limit your rights under the ACL." Because they don't abide by ACL.

    It's $264 on Catch.com.au https://www.catch.com.au/product/nokia-6-32gb-dual-sim-ta-10…

*Edit (this is including Free shipping)

    • +2

Not bad - that is the 32GB model versus the 64GB model in this deal…

    • +1

      different product.

    • +3

      Not 2018 model my friend.

  • Ahh yes my mistake. I see the 64gb version is $334 @ Catch.

    • Nope $354 for the same one. Note COTD also isn't local stock.

  • no local stock means no AU charger ….. depends what local warranty and local charger is worth to you.

  • +1
