      Hi klaw81, this product is made by Eglo, a premium international lighting brand that invests in R&D for their products. You will find that every single component used in the strip light kit is superior to the ones found on eBay. For example, the LED driver will last much longer, the LED chips will be better constructed, the brightness will be higher etc. These are often things that the cheaper LED strips fail to mention about. This product is also fully Australian standards approved and has a 5 Year Warranty.

      Can't speak for this brand myself, but in general ebay LED strips are of poor construction. They use shoddy LEDs and run them hot to make them brighter. End result is it looks fine to start off with, but loses 50% brightness in a few months. Also very power inefficient, often close to halogens for light delivered per watt.

    would this suit a 4 tier display cabinet? how would i go about cutting the 5m strip to 4x 4m strip and running it off one dc adapter? do you happen to have any instructions manual rep?

      There are four connector pieces included for you to cut and rejoin the LED strip at various points. I have attached the instructions manual on the Specifications tab of the product page. When you rejoin the LED strips, make sure the positive sign of one end is lined up with the positive sign of the other end. The power flows one way along the strip.     6W/metre? Not much.

    Only 25mA per LED. Must be those small 3528 LEDs.

    I've bought good 5050 LED strips from ebay for less, but also bought complete junk.

      Unfortunately no. They only come in 3000K Warm White or 5000K Cool White.
