Need a bit more PD power i think. I would get one but i have a few already. Will wait for a bigger pd charger.

    • +3

I have the 30W PD one (single USB-C port)

  • So this won't fast charge 2 Android phones at once? Only Apples?

    • My understanding is that it will do both. Apple specifically gets a mention since it's Apple…

In either case "fast charging" depends on the phones capabilities and ports.

Is this any good will it fry my phone?

    • won’t fry phones, concern for some is that they want the usb c port to be higher wattage as some notebooks now charge via usb c ports.

so this charger is great for phones but might be a bit light for mac or hp users.

Any good deal for BlitzWolf BW-S7?

Come on op. Come up with the goods.

Can anyone with more technical knowledgeable than me explain if this is better than BW-S6, I know one of the differences is the QC3 is usb C than usb A. I have an S9+ and a Tab S with quick charge will this charge both at QC rate? I do know that both Samsung devices are only QC2 but gonna primarily also use this for my Xiaomi powerbank which has QC3 input.

Hope it makes sense and glad this came on ozbargain before I jumped the gun and bought the BW-S6.

    Thank you in advance

    • Description states that the Type A port can only charge at normal speed or fast charge apple devices, only the type C port uses QC.

What cable do you plan on using to QC the Xiaomi power bank? I'm assuming you mean a micro input Xiaomi bank like the regular, 2 or 2i, not one with Type C input like the pro or ZMI? Just asking because I can't find any Micro to Type C cables, everything is Type A to Type C or Micro.

This should be better than the BW-S6 in the long run, as Type A is used less and less, but until then, I don't think there's any major differences.

      • It's just a micro usb as it's the Xiaomi 2C. Ok then yea if only type C uses QC then it would be better to get the BW-S6 so can at least charge them all at QC. Thanks for the help

        • I had the same dilemma between S6 and S11. I found out S11 is useful if you have devices that supports PD (Google Pixel 2). Some notebooks, tablets etc supports it because they need more power at a faster rate.
I just bought S6 today and charge mainly my LG V30 with QC3 and other devices too. Having a USB C or USB A wouldn't matter if the device has limitations drawing power. Both have QC3 but I prefer USB A ATM. Another note is to buy a good USB cable that supports faster rates(Check AWG)

        • "Tekuza" The BW-S6 only has one port that will do QC3, the second one is limited to 2.4A with a combined total (when using both ports simultaneously ) of 30W.

  • Got a Q re this charger and I may sound a bit like a technical newbie, which I am…
I have ordered a 12 inch Macbook, which has a USB C connector and which comes with an international charger. It has not been delivered yet, so I assume that I will need an Australian plug to go with it.
The Apple charger is 29W. This one says 30W and I like the idea of charging my laptop and phone at the same time, when I travel.
Will this fill that role, ie, is it compatible with a Macbook?
    Thanks in advance.

The USB-C port is 18W max for this device. The 30W comes from the 18W USB-C and the 12W USB-A port. If your charger outputs more than 18W then this charger probably won't charge it the way you would want.

      • Thanks for that

        • people were having trouble with aftermarket USB C chargers for HP notebooks, and people complained about lockin in having to buy HP chargers …. was very hit and miss with 3rd part chargers for HP owners, some would work, some would not.

It turned out that the laptops talked to the charger and if it was low power, they didn't charge, HPs answer was they were concerned about people using low power chargers and the use experience was "takes forever to charge my HP laptop", the fault isn't the laptop, it was low power chargers. So this forced users to either use the HP provided charger or a high power 3rd party charger.

As more laptops and tablets go USB-C PD people will become more aware, just like in the early days trying to charge ipads with their 5W iPhone chargers ….overnight and still not 100%, then they went to 12W chargers and all was good.

Problem with QC is that it is QUALCOMM proprietary and needs to be licensed ($$$$) and originated from phone market …. USB-C is an open standard and less licensing costs so bundled as part of AMD and Intel chipsets for laptops ….no need to have QC, no need to pay Qualcomm … apple iPhone have their own chipsets so doesn't use QC, laptop manufacturers use AMD or intel chipsets so no QC …. mainly android devices with Qualcomm chipsets use QC.

        • Notebooks require more power than phone chargers. So this wouldn't help

The 'international' charger plug uses the same type of plug as an iPad charger. If you have a spare iPad charger, you can change the plug.

The 12" MacBook supports 5V, 9V, 14.5V, and 20V charging. However, as inaestuo pointed out, the BlizWolf BW-S11 USB-C/PD port only supports up to 18W (9V/2A). It will be up to the Macbook to decide whether it is willing to use 18W or not. Apple's 29W charger can operate at 14.5V. You probably won't be able to tell whether your Macbook and the BlizWolf charger operates at 9V unless a meter is used to measure the voltage (because Macbook would charge at 5V as well, except it takes ages).

I don't recommend using these chargers for Macbook. They are designed for phones and tablets. Also, the laptop is expensive so it's better to stick with original one. BlizWolf chargers rely on the underlying chipset to do over-current protection. However, I am concerned that QC 2.0 and QC 3.0 modes being supported through the same USB-C port as well. While technically, it is possible to support that configuration, QC 2.0/3.0 don't conform to the official USB-IF specs. Again, you are relying on the charger chipset to do the job properly.

      • Thanks for that, I will look for a iPad chargers as a spare

      • can’t recall if it was on ozbargain or trawling banggood, there was a 45w usb c pd charger, that is the beast you want if happy with just one port …..would do macbooks and phones.

        • It's on Banggood but only one port though

    • Great question. I’ve wondered this too.

  • Still waiting for my last order.. Grr..

    • mine arrived today (brisbane)

    • Got mine last week.. Funny enough the s6 that I ordered on the 2nd came yesterday!

  • Got 3 for the family last time. should i get one for myself?

  • Why would people buy this when IKEA sell a three port USB with same wattage at $14.99

    • +1

      IKEA doesn't have a USB-C Port

    • Does it have usb PD? Does it have quick charge?

Belkin sells a Type-c usb pd charger for like $90, just to give you perspective…

      • -1

For perspective, the $90 Belkin is a 45W charger so will charge a MacBook or iPad Pro at maximum speed, and not too far off for a MacBook Pro 13.

      • Thanks, good answers. I still haven't received something from bangood I ordered 6 weeks ago so I'll just stick to local stock.

Is it good (compatible) for Nintendo Switch?

  • +1

    Is this Benson Leung-approved?

    • It won't be. He recommends not touching anything QC with a 10' pole.

  • +3

Does this have an Australian certificate of approval?

    • +4

Why would it? It's a Chinese website and ships from China.

  • Be careful. I have ordered this exact product from the last deal on 5/04 and still hasn't arrived. Their ETA has kept moving further and now sits on 06/06.

    • Are you able to cancel the order?

Any reps here that can assist?

      • The product is already shipped. No tracking though so who knows where it is but I am sure its still outside Australia.

If it has hit Australia I would have got an Aust Post text or email

Can only do chargeback before it expires

    • I recieved mine yesterday, I'm in Sydney.

  • Think I’m gunna give this a miss at the moment wait for another deal or just bite the bullet and buy an offical Apple plug thank you to all that have commented and answered questions.

  • Anyone recommend a USB-A Quick charger?

  • Can you use PD slot to charge a device that doesn't support PD?

Anyone know how many watts Switch charges at?

This thing is saying 30W, but each socket is 18W max. Not sure how they get 30. If they're counting both together, that would be 36W.

EDIT: Wait a sec.. QC is only on the Type-C port? So if I use a C to C cable on my S8, I will get QC charging?
