Existing customer, worked for me - thanks

  • Has anyone used Youfoodz before? What are they like in terms of size and quality?

I was going to get a few to throw in the freezer at work to save me buying lunch. Yes, I'm aware making my own at home is cheaper, and I do, but now and then some variety would be nice.

    • +6

Taste is fine, a step above your frozen Coles and Woolies
Quantity is small - 250-300g generally

    • +2

Size wise they're not large. I could fit in 2 meals if I wanted to. But it works fine for me as I prefer not to eat a heavy lunch while I am at work. To give you an idea, I think they are approximately the same size as the meals you typically get on an international flight.

      • Thanks. That was my concern. I'm not a big guy, but I think I'd still be hungry after one of these and inevitably would decide a brownie or a muffin was a suitable snack

        • I found the portion size quite small..around 350-400 calories. If you are looking to lose weight then a good option. I won't be doing it again.

        • Thats what happened to me when I took them to work.

I found them so small and felt that I was getting sick and almost felt like fainting by the end of the day. I often needed to compensate the small portions with unhealthy food.

I'll give it a plus though as I felt better using them for dinner alongside a serve of vegetables. Would never pay full price though.

        • +1

Portion size is small as others have said, which I don't mind. It works well if you prefer to have a few small meals through the day rather than a big breakfast, lunch, dinner.

          @arcticmonkey:

how much calories do you eat per day on average and whats your weigh? What's your goals? Are you trying to lose weight? Losing weight doesn't involve starving yourself. Sounds like you aren't eating enough and solely just relying on youfoodz as your entire calorie intake.

I make my own breakfast, have a youfoodz for lunch and dinner, a protein shake throughout the day and a snack to get my calories up which usually takes me to about 1800-2000 calories per day.

You should not be feeling sick or feel like fainting form them so you definitely aren't eating enough food

    • +1

      I have used Youfoodz

Their food isn’t for freezing. It’s meant to be eaten fresh and the delivered meals have use-by dates of about 7 to 10 day’s from delivery.

      • -2

7-10 days in freezer right ?

      • +2

You can definitely freeze them, as they haven't been frozen before. However some things survive freezing a bit better than others. I would not freeze the wraps, roti or fried meals but the rest is fine to freeze.

    • +1

They aren't huge and you will probably be hungry afterwards. Zest Meals has at least the largest most dense meals I've had from these types of companies. YouFoodz is good for a regularly updated meal list and the freebies you get, that's about it.

  • Perfectly timed - thanks so much OP!

  • +1

ordered 7 meals for me, and 7 for the wife.

    Thanks OP

  • Thanks OP

  • -1

How many calories per meal on average?

    • +1

Click the link. It tells you on the website.

    • 350-400

  • Becomes tempting with the referral credit

    • +2

Not sure if it will work. Can anyone confirm?

      • +1

you get a code but it is not stacked with this code. so it didnt work in my experience. i also tried first order 20$ off, it didnt work either.

        • Thanks!

        • btw, you dont have to use the code that they give you with $10 off to get the referral. the referral is based off the "youfoodz.refr.cc" link, so once you open that you have to order in the same window and you can use a different promo code.
eg. you could be a new customer, use a referral link and use the yum740 promo code :)

        • +1

Only one code can be used so use the one that gives the biggest discount.

  • +8

Thanks! I don't order at full price but when it's $40 for 7 it's excellent value for the taste and variety.

  • Do we know when this expires?

    • +2

      Expires 25 April

  • Thank you OP!

  • +3

fairly healthy meals & the majority taste nice too. Much better than WeightWatchers or any other frozen meal.

  • thanks of by the way.

  • +1

Did anyone else have to pay an additional $20 shipping?

    Nevermind, Perth metro shipping @ $20 :/

    • Should only be for WA customers.

  • +6

$20 delivery kills the deal for Perth Metro.

  • Thanks just ordered, will get the mrs to order another lot as well, cheap for $40

  • Been wanting to give this a go for a while, this tipped me over the edge.

    Thanks OP

  • Can you stack this with the $10 off referrer code?

  • +2

They’ve cancelled numerous orders when I’ve used the promo codes. Has anyone else experienced this?

I’ve been using them for about 2 years, quite religiously. I would say I have ordered 70+ times with them. So pretty disappointing they cancel my orders just because I use a code :(

Also not sure if the nutritional information is accurate? I have found the portions to vary!

But the convenience and variety is why I order with them. I have these meals for lunch usually.

    • I've ordered from them approximately 10 times so far, always with a promo code. No cancellations so far.

      • Oh wow, way to make a frequent customer feel valued :(

I’ve even had orders cancelled without a direct email from them!!
Only knew via refund notification from PayPal (I pay for my orders via PayPal).

I tried THR1VE but their meals are just too bland for me :(

        • +1

Surprise surprise! Got this email from YF this morning -

          Hi <Name>,

Thank you for your order, I am so very sorry this has been cancelled due to unauthorised use of code, this code was sent personally to our clients, if you have an email from us stating this we are more than happy to re-instate for you, however you are more than welcome to put in an order with your Gold-Member Status, have a lovely week <Name>

          :( oh well!

        • @Sunshineeeee:

That sucks. I did get an email with the promo. From the comments, I was under the assumption that it was sent to all existing members. Guess not!

        • @RyanMK:

          SNIFF.
They should really reward customers who frequently spend with them!! 70+ orders amounts to a couple thousand $$!

          Enjoy your discounted meals :)

  • Got Customer information does not meet the requirements for the YUM740 discount code …any idea why?

    I've ordered 7 meals

    • I just tried it again. Worked for me. Maybe try a new account.

      • still doesn't work for me:|

        • +2

          is your total over $69?

    • +1

i think its targeted to existing customers that havent ordered in a while.
and im guessing they forgot to lock it down until now.

  • Cheers OP. Ordered this coming weeks on friday just been but turns out I can order for the week after next too so I still got to cash in on the sweet discounts :)

  • Thanks, just ordered.

  • +3

"Customer information does not meet the requirements for the YUM740 discount code"

What requirements do you have to meet?

    • new user

      • got this error message too. New user.

Someone commented it’s for existing user too.

      • I am a new user.

        • Maybe try incognito mode or another browser.

        • +2

          @Red Hippo:

Dunno why that would do anything since I have never visited the website in my entire life until right now.

        • @serpserpserp:

Maybe it's existing customers only. I have no idea. Sorry.

    • Same, op anything in the email?

      • +2

I think you have to be an existing member. I received the email as well, saying they missed me. Same code

  • Looks like its not working now the code

  • Tried a different browser as wll

  • Customer information does not meet the requirements for the YUM740 discount code

    help?

  • +1

I would say its all over for the code

  • Still works for me. Existing customer.
    I used the app.

  • New member, tried online and in the app, got the same error above and in the app 'Your account is not in the eligible group'.

Made an order anyway as the $20 off was pretty good - now I am eligible for the $30 off!

  • Does not work for me with new account, wonder if its because the site just generated a $20 off code for me email.

Wont bother ordering as delivery is $20 so very expensive at $10 a meal when they sell them for that price at my local IGA.

  • does not work for me. new customer. tried app as well.

  • +3

    Code is targeted.

Customer information does not meet the requirements for the YUM740 discount code

  • It worked for me just then and I'm not a new user, nor did I get an email about it beforehand … So not sure how they are targeting it. But thanks OP, I'm about to have a massive week at work so this will take some pressure off :)

  • Solid half hour of time wasted only to see that the code doesn't work. Very disappointed.

  • any codes for new members?

    • +1

      HEYTHERE-4467 gives $20 off

  • +1

Just worked for me, existing customer.

  • Thanks grabbed some, will see how they compare to when I last tried them a few years back

  • Has anyone had any experience using Australia Post Parcel Collect to have youfoodz delivered to a post office instead of home (unit, no reception desk nowhere to leave parcel safely).

    • +2

Probably wouldn't work. Youfoodz don't use austpost for delivery.

  • -3

Doesn't work. I get the "Customer information does not meet the requirements for the YUM740 discount code" message.

I'm a new user. Never bought anything from this site. Bit of a pain after spending all the time choosing my meals and filling out the forms.

    • WHA

    • I got the same error. Wonder if the code is expired now. I signed up and got a code for $20 off my first order. Code doesn't stack with the referral one though :(

    • "Existing customers".

"I'm a new user. Never bought anything from this site"

      There's your issue.

You misread the title, that isn't downvote worthy. I'd remove the downvote if I were you.

      • +2

HEYTHERE-4467 gives $20 off for new users.

  • Their checkout design is very slick, also it can make it easy to forget to put in your promo code.

Don't made the mistake I made and forget it, as customer service will not apply this to you.

I think they're onto this post BTW.

    • Haha “onto this post”
      Why do you say that?!

      • The live chat grilled me on where I found this code, and then some people reported it's not working for them anymore, etc. Just a hunch.

Surely they'd notice a massive spike in orders - the YouFoodz digital part of the business seem very competent, the whole experience was top notch.

  • Not eligible for WA 😕

  • still worked for me

  • I've been in YouFoodz for a couple of weeks now. For existing customers, do they give you a code to use every week?

    • +2

No. But order often enough and you'll get a 'Gold Member' discount which can range up to 10% off your order (doesn't stack with other codes).
They do regularly offer a free extra meal so figure the cost per meal to be about $7-8 in that case, and there are often these codes sneaking out.
I have issues cooking regularly (long work hours and chronic pain), and being able to look forward to a fresh dinner with crisp veges and good variety is more than worth the price for me.

    • Yeah they often throw in a free meal (last time it was a spaghetti bolognaise) or a treat (free protein balls or Anzac Cookies). Also they gave us a free reusable water bottle recently and a reusable takeaway coffee cup. So they do reward repeat customers :)

  • OzBargained in ACT? I can't even complete my order or choose the day I want either.
    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/44465/58299/youfoodz.j…

  • hmm another youfoodz blunder it seems like, i got screwed over the last time with their codes / deals.

  • +1

existing customer but i cant get the code to work for me since yesterday. It says my cart does not meet the code requirement! I'm already ordering over $160! Customer service says they cant do anything! and ask me to come back to them if i have any other Q! Shame on Youfoodz if they are reading this

  • +3

My food arrived today. Size wise its not too bad. Taste wise = Bloody nice very impressed

  • Received my order on Friday, decided to freeze a couple and see how they would taste lunches this week.
Received a free protein ball, packet of protein powder, ANZAC biscuits, a set of metal cutlery and a discount voucher for the next order. Good value for money

    • i received nothing , not even the biscuits, my delivery arrived on friday too!!!
