    Oz Bar gin and tonic

    • That would be nice :)

  • Thanks for picking that up! I'm updating it to ozbargain now :) Give us a few minutes and the code will work.

  • what is 30 day guarantee? guarantee to have coverage for first 30 days of 2 years?

Fixed Wireless broadband? it is wireless or it is fixed line?

what is your price of the plan?

    • You can find out more about how Fixed Wireless works on the website. Basically it is a microwave signal sent from our tower to a small dish on the roof of your house. Then like fixed broadband you just have a router/wifi to access the broadband.

30 day guarantee means that if we don't deliver on speed/service in the first 30 days you can get out of the contract. Basically we love to prove how we can deliver. :)

      • so it will be 30 days no question ask guarantee, i can get out of contract at day 29 if i am not happy?

        what is the overall cost?

Can you post some plan and price, all deal in here do require price.

        • If you aren't happy because we aren't delivering what we promise, then yep!

          No gimmicks.

The costs vary depending on the monthly data plan and speed options. There are too many to post here. They are all on the site.

        • @Clear Broadband:

Too much to list then we are too little to care about your service and product.

Perhaps you should refer to our posting guidelines

        • @LoveBargain15: Hey LoveBargin15, we've been as specific as we can be about the plan length. The data options and speed options have so many variables. It's so easy to look at the options on the site… but since you asked :)

You say refer to 'our posting guidelines' are you an admin? It's my first time posting here, so I'm trying to do the right thing, but figured it's simpler for people to look at better graphical options rather than a series of just numbers.

          Hope that helps!

        • @Clear Broadband:

i am not an admin but that is ozbargain posting guilde, understand you are the first time poster and we all want you to be shine here.

It is just a kind suggestion to make your post better to reach your potential customer. take it or leave it is totally up to you,

        • @LoveBargain15: Thanks! :)

        • @Clear Broadband: That information belongs in your description. Your 'edit' button is between 'view' and 'revisions'.

  • Rep, perhaps you could make it clear in the description which cities/regions your services cover?

Your website's coverage checker is terrible.

Hi Klaw81, Coverage map is on the website.

      • Firstly, that doesn't address the issue. Users shouldn't need to trawl through your website to find out if this deal is something they can take advantage of. A simple list of the major areas you cover is not a big ask.

        https://www.clear.com.au/residential/fixed-wireless/availabi…

Secondly, Is that what you call a "coverage map"? If so, it's basically useless. At very least the dots should be labelled. The north-eastern dots could be northern NSW or southern Qld; there's simply no way to tell.

This is what a good coverage map looks like:
        https://unitiwireless.com/coverage-map/

        • -1

The service checker finds out whether you get the service in a few seconds Klaw81.

To put a coverage map out like Uniti has is misleading (looks good, point taken on that), as Fixed wireless relies on line of sight. Just because you are in the 'coverage area' doesn't mean you will get coverage.

I'll chat to the team about creating more detailed maps.

We always point people to the service checker first.

        • @Clear Broadband: That's still a pretty weak response, honestly.

You have to input the exact address you're interested in, because anything else gives you a BS response. And you don't know if it's even in your city, because the map is useless beyond ruling out anyone further north than Brisbane (or is it actually Coffs Harbour? I can't tell).

And while Uniti's map may not be accurate, it's pretty clear from a quick glance that their coverage areas are in Melbourne and Adelaide, which is more than you can say about your coverage information.

I don't actually care much (I have fibre NBN at home and work) but for the good of the OzBargain community, it would be great if wireless ISPs would do the courtesy of at least mentioning which areas they service in their "bargain" post.

        • +1

Haha that "coverage map" is terrible!
Oh well, at least Norfolk Island is covered. Or at least i think its Norfolk Island?

        • @klaw81: Sorry completely disagree.

          Let me explain why.

Fixed Wireless needs a line of sight to the actual single property, because neighbouring buildings, trees and other obstacles can impact the potential for the service not to work. Fixed Wireless is all about line of sight connection to the house. It's impossible to do a one size fits all, yes or no for a whole street or an area. Service accessibility changes from house to house.

Imagine people's frustration if we said yes to a whole street just because a property was in the same street as another accessible property? That would be very annoying and frustrating right? You'd only find out once you've paid us and our installer has come to set you up.

While that increases some service disqualifications at the front, we think it's the fairest and simplest way to find out whether it's an option or not.

That is why, although Uniti has done a nice job with a map looking at areas of general availability (in one city), every single building connection needs to be checked beforehand (Like I said I'm chatting to our team to add more detail on our map).

Fibre works in the same way, but in area blocks. Your area either has service, or it doesn't.

Go well with your fibre connection! BTW I'm on cable which is fab!

        • @Clear Broadband: I have enough technical knowledge to understand that coverage maps are not perfect, especially for line-of-sight services, but thanks for spelling it out clearly anyway.

All I really wanted was to see a list of covered cities in a list in your original post. I think it should be mandatory for all ISPs on OzBargain, particularly given that many wireless ISPs only service one or two areas but advertise deals on this forum as though it's a nation-wide service.

Thumbs up for the fast responses though.

  • Oops!
It looks like the gremlins are loose in our systems right now:
    Incorrect referer.
If you give it a few minutes and reload the page, we'll try again..

can't check my address on your web site

    • Oh no!

Which plan were you looking at GrunkStrap?

Try hitting refresh on your browser. That should clear any history.

      Working for me now :)

  • We like to see prices. Bargains have prices.

    • No probs PJC, they are above in the comments. The deal covers a range of prices. :)

      • This is OzBargain. That information belongs in your description. Your 'edit' button is between 'view' and 'revisions'.

        • What I've learnt from this thread is to only offer the deal on one price point to make it easier for everyone to understand. :)

The deal isn't the $, its the 50% off the first month and free install which IS in the description.

We live and we learn PJC :)

          I'll amend the description.

        • @Clear Broadband: We come here for bargains. You need to tell Australia's largest buying community your prices to assist shopping.

        • @PJC: Already amended the description… happy shopping PJC!
