    • This is the version of the $59 plan ie It was updated in December

    • I got the same thing

  • Do you guys think its worth extra 10$ a month for the 256gb

    • I went with the 64gb because memory is expandable on the 64gb but not the 256gb

      • -1

What do you mean? I have like 450gb on my S9plus now lol. 256gb+Samsung 200gb micro sd.

I actually spend a good 10 minutes in store deciding between two. Decided to just go ahead and pay the extra 10 bux.

        • Really!! I was told that it wasn't expandable!

        • @princess_nik_nak:

Yes really:) It might be a bit overkill for some people but i already filled up 400gb of offline storage..

    • I got standard 64GB as I have a 200GB sd card I got from an previous ozbargain deal ^_^

    • I went with 256gb also. Less fuss moving stuff around. I may be wrong but I also figured faster access to internal storage rather than SD card. I also moved my 128GB card across so heaps of space for now.

      • I find it safer on the sd card if the phone fails. Had it happen before and lost some nice photos :(

        • Agreed. Photos go onto SD card. Other stuff to internal.

        • @Covfefe:

edit: thought i read 9+ doesnt have expandable memory where 9 does..i think both do

        • +1

@overlook: I have 9+ 256gb. It has expandable memory. I have extra 128gb in it now

        • SD card will probsbly fail before internal

    • $240 for 192gb

  • Tried to price match with Virgin Mobile on Swanston Street, Melbourne, and no interest in matching or even coming close even for a 5+ year old customer.

Time to bundle with Optus I suppose

    • Yep im in the same boat. I spoke to them on Live Chat and the best they could offer was 5gb instead of 2gb for the $68 plan.

Like how is 2gb still a decent offer in this day and age.

Also keep in mind that they acknowledged that I had been with them for over 10 years.

When I said that Optus was offering 20gb, their response was "But would you use it?"

Plus you get other nifty perks with Optus. Looks like im going into Harvey Norman tomorrow to sign up and get that $100 gift card.

  • My current plan has the family & friend's discount. I did an upgrade to get the S9. Does anyone know if I will keep the 25% off the new plan?

    • i was told if i upgrade and I will lose the 25% off

    • double posted

    • You should have asked before upgrading. I would say no.

    • It should carry on to new plan, make sure with them before making change

  • Are people receiving theirs, mine is out for delivery?

  • Went in to Harvey Norman at Fyshwick. Had previously spoken to Vishnal over the phone.

He sorted me out with an S9+ for $74, 20gb, 24 month contract and all the other perks. Also got the $100 gift card.

Word is that if you enter into a contract thats over $85 per month, you get the $200 gift card. But I was just happy with my $74 plan.

So if you are in Canberra and want this, go hit up Vishnal.

    • The S9+ for $74?

      • 64gb version

    • Hmm might have to hit up HN!

      • Yep its all up and running and the phone has been a huge improvement on my previous s6 Edge.

Im still getting used to unlocking the phone by having it scan my irises.

Oh and can confirm that the S9+ comes without Optus Bloatware.

        • someone advised on page 3 someone got a HN version without Optus bloatware. Must be different each store

        • @jayzorz: It would be foreign stock that they sold them then. They have to sell optus stock first, and get approval to sell foreign stock

  • +1

Quick service. Ordered yesterday morning and already delivered

  • +1

I purchased mine at HN and I am glad to report that there is no optus bloatware on it. There is no optus startup screen or any kind of optus application installed. Its a stock galaxy s9+… reason might be that Harvery Norman give you S9+ they have in stock and is fore sale for outright customers (which is not optus branded) as compared to optus store which might be handing out optus badged products.. Can someone who has bought from optus store or optus online please confirm if there is optus bloatware on their S9+?

  • anyone torn between S9 and S9+? I still don't know what to get.. I wish the S9 had 6gb RAM to make it more future proof but the S9 plus is too big

    • Get the s9+. Its only an extra 4 bux but the screen size, bigger battery and ram is worth it.

  • Mine came with wireless charging pad/stand.

    • +1

what? where you get it from? Which s9 model?

      • +1

see my other posts in this thread.

  • So I got this deal (s9+ 256gb for $84p/m) at Harvey Norman on Sunday Morning porting from Kogan prepaid. Its now Wednesday and Im still on Kogan. Chat online to them last night and they said that Kogan havent released my number, and to wait another 3-5 days for their back office to sort it out..

Thing is, my Kogan data is running out/nearing expiring and was intending to use the 20gb optus data that I signed up for!. Far out ~

    • Yeah I came over from Virgin and they were also slow in releasing my number. I gave it until the next morning before I re-engaged with Optus and they gave Virgin a kick in the ass to release my number.

  • Just got off the phone from 3 different stores in NSW, they all said that the $100 Gift/Eftpos Card is only available to NEW customers and not re-contracting. They also said that they would happily still offer me the free case up to $50 value. If you would like to purchase a case over $50, you can pay the difference as well. Anybody know if there is any cons about going through Harvey Norman instead of directly through Optus? Thanks

    • Well get a prepaid sim from Voda and port over. Then port that back to Optus. Easily done.

    • +1

HI, my first time replying… but I went to Harvey Norman in Broadway NSW and I got any case and any screen protector I wanted. I opted for getting the official Samsung case ($80) and a $50 glass screen protector. I didn't get the eftpos card when I asked they said they would not do it. I was re-contracting to the s9+ $74 plan. I don't have the receipts with me at the moment but I can attach them when I get home. Also before I reconnected I asked Optus to carry over my 10% student discount and waive my current handset fee which as $180 even though I was re-contracting through Harvey Norman which they said was okay. It took me about 5 hours going back and forth thou over multiple days. Tip speak to customer care service or if using the online chat go to the billing department.

  • So does anyone know if this offer stacks with the 50% off deal for bringing on a new service?

    • +1

50% off second service doesn't work on this plan

  • Do you know what the number is for customer service? I keep getting transferred around.

    • Customer service is 133 937.

  • Just got mine from HN Sunshine. The manager of the mobile phone section said they can either give me the gift card of $100 or an accessories. I did not mind anyways. Took the gift card and order my Spigen case on eBay.
By the way, I am 23 yo and the credit check said I'm eligible for 3 services. Is it low or high for my age?

  • Got S9 Plus from HN. Also scored a free tech21 case worth $70 along with $100 gift card. Thanks op.

  • I signed up to Optus (porting from Virgin > Optus) on Sunday March 18, it's now Friday March 23 and I still don't have an active service with Optus. They cut my Virgin service off on Monday morning, so I was expecting the porting to happen that day… to date I've been without phone/internet all week and they've been so unhelpful resolving this. Can't believe how bad their customer service is, ridiculous. Support advised me yesterday that I should have service within 24hrs. I called back this morning to check up on it and was told 2 more steps need to be carried out (the same 2 steps previous tech's said they carried out for me) and was told it's still a 24 to 48 hour wait… but it was confirmed that's BUSINESS hours… I could be another week without a functioning "phone".

Amazing. Anyone else having any issues porting over to Optus? They had a porting outage on Monday (the day my Virgin service was cut off - I still had a month to go on my contract with them btw) and since then I've just gotten the run around.

    • I had the same issue with porting from Virgin. I was in HN on Sunday but because they wouldn't get the CID I had to go back on Monday.
Once CID was in the system my service was disconnected by Virgin within the hour. But Optus left me hanging until Wed before connecting my service.
I went into an Optus store and asked that they provide me a prepaid sim because I couldn't call and couldn't access internet!
So I suggest you do the same so at least you are connected until they activated your service.

    • I ported from Telstra. Took a total of 10 mins.

    • Finally activated, only took 5 days! UGH

  • Is this own or lease after the 24 months is up?

  • Is any one else not able to activate their Harvey Norman eftpos card?

  • Deal expired ? Ouch was going to try getting it today… any similar offers going around?

  • Missed it. Any other good deals for the S9?
