Malaysia Airlines??? I don't dare to choose Malaysia Airlines.

    • +3

If more ppl thought like you it will get cheaper for the rest of us.

      • -3

Do you remember MH370 and MH17?

        • agree they must pay me to fly with them.

        • MH17 was shot out of the sky by Putin's goons. Most other airlines were flying a similar route at what should have been a safe height.

        • +1

          @dontpanic:

There was actually plenty of airlines that did not fly that route. But just because others did, you are saying that Malaysian is ok?

Considering that a plane was shot down less than 100km away just the day before?

      yolo man

    "return" heh

  • +1

That's pretty cheap for full service to Japan!

    • +3

      full what in japan again?

  • Transit at KL?

    • Yes

      • able to eat durian on the way! wohooo

  • Strangely cheaper to fly on Malaysia Airlines to Tokyo via KL, return… Than flying to just KL return. What?!

    • +2

Yeah, this often happens on flight routings, however you cannot make use of it for a cheap KL flight as if you do not board one of the following segments, the rest of the trip is voided.

      • For $23 more you can stopover in KL for few days.

  • +10

I appreciate the cheapness but I would pay $200 extra for direct flights rather than spend an extra 20 hours in transit for a return trip.

    • +1

i agree, no long stops thanks, unless of course if you wanted to have a look around the city you stopped at as my son did on his way back from a trip last time he traveled.

      • +2

actually i always prefer stay over, so with 1 tickets you get 2 countries for holiday (or more if possible)

    • yeah, don't forget time is money too

      • +5

Then why are you here on OB?

        • +12

          to waste time and money

    • The longest transit time I found in the link is 5 hours. Not great but not 20 hours. You'd be transiting on any of the LCCs like scoot or air asia anyway. Plus you'd have to transit at Cairns for Jetstar. This is a very good price for a full service airline in any case. And I might add it arrives at a decent time in Tokyo with the whole day in front of you.

      • The transit time I quoted was for the whole journey, not one leg. Qantas was $200 extra for the dates I searched and flew direct to and from Narita. Any time is a good time to land in Tokyo, though I do prefer to get in in the early evening, take the Limousine Bus to the hotel and then head out for a nice evening meal.

  • Any deals Melbourne - Tokyo Return in October?

    • $648 with SQ. However this deals ends today (midnight)

  • can we stay like 5 days in KL? dont mind pay little extra

    • That's a multi city trip which will cost you a fair bit more $ when booking online. I've found that travel agents (remember them?) can often do a stopover for the same or not much more than the cost of a layover flight.

    • Yes you can. From Sydney its $23 more - $598

If you are interested, let me know.

      • I'd be interested to know!

  • Arigato kozaimas~!

    • +2

I think you need to brush up on your Japanese before you head over.

      • +2

        Naa-ni~!

        • Ahō, in the nicest possible way of course.

  • I've always wondered. Is there a trick to finding these deals or is it just a matter of continuous searching til you find one?

    • +1

      google flights?

      • That and just being aware of the all the specials available currently.

  • Waiting for a Qantas sale in July…

  • I can't seem to get flights to show for Sydney – Tokyo for $575.. What dates do I need to pick? Looking to depart in September for a few weeks.

    • I have just sent you a PM :)

  • Dang, i'm looking for flights around xmas/new year, would love to get them for this price!

  • Having trouble getting those prices for Sydney in April

  • Hey buddy, could you possibly help me out on a trip I have planned for late Nov- to after Christmas? Could you provide me with the cheapest airfare to anywhere in Europe (Milan, Paris, Rome, etc.) for dates after 26 November departing from Brisbane?

    • Check this guy out

      • customundo, not sure what you mean?

    • Sure. If you are ok with long transit times and flying via China (1 stop) I can see fares for $925 (Frankfurt - Air China). Or London with Cathay Pacfic/British Airways/Korean Airlines (1 stop either way) for $1159 (10hr transit on the way back unfortunately)

If you like any of these options or have any questions, send me a PM. I can look at ways to cut down the transit times as well. Hope this helps!

      • Hey buddy, sorry about this, but I used skyscanner and found an Air China fare to Charles De Gaulle for $870 ish. Do you think that’s a good price, or will it go any lower?

  • +1

I've been through KL airport before. Wish I'd stopped over for a few days.
