PICK5

Was looking for a VESA mount for my new monitor and seems like this is a pretty good price for a dual monitor mount with gas springs.

Supports 10-30 inch monitors
VESA Size: 75 x 75, 100 x 100
Weight Capacity: 9kg (per arm) (Title says 8 so..)
Inputs: USB 3.0 x 2
Tilt: -85° - 15°

Currently on Kogan's website for $79 as their "lowest price ever".

Here's an unboxing/setup/review of the single arm version which looks pretty solid.

  • What are the 2 cables/wires/connectors coming our of it?

    • +1

      Inputs: USB 3.0 x 2

    • 2XUSB 3.0 input from the looks of it and the descriptin.

      • I ordered this a while back (same listing), the one I got also has a 3.5mm audio jack and 3.5mm microphone jack (which wasn't mentioned in the listing), on top of the 2x USB 3.0.

  • Might have to look at this one plus single cause Kogan have taken 4+ weeks to answer a question about the triple mount which is now sold out.

    • How much was that one do you remember?

      • Can't remember lol, but it looked a slightly better build. I think it was $20-30 more than the locktec one at the time (diff being one had fold out from main pole and other had spring joints).

  • Does anyone know the maximum thickness of table I can clamp this on?

    • +3

The manual says there's two mount options: clamp for for 25-120mm desks and grommet for 25-100mm.

  • I get the "This code can't be applied to your order." message at checkout.

    • Have you used the code before?

Are you checking out with Paypal?

      • Haven't used the code before, checking out with Paypal.
        Price AU $52.78

        • Hm..I'm not sure sorry! Maybe someone else can shed light on this.

        • +1

          @currentfad: bought for $52.78 anyways :)
          thanks)

        • +1

@Sve: hopefully you can swallow the extra 2 bux hahahaha

        • +1

@currentfad: hehe better +2 bucks than out of stock lol
          cheers mate

  • Can it handle the 32 inch AOC that was posted last week.

    • Correct, manual says 9kg per arm support.

      • Thanks mate, you are too quick. Do u think it can handle the 32 inch AOC?

        • +1

Sorry it won't! Max supported is 30".

        • +1

Just wondering if size matter or just weight.

        • +1

@boohooimissout: Both matter - 9kg max per monitor, and 30" max per monitor.

        • @boohooimissout:

Just wondering if size matter or just weight.

Of course size matters, the arms are joined in the middle.

        • +1

@Maverick-au: I am thinking to use only one.

        • @boohooimissout: Even the one arm version says it only supports up to 30" in the manual.

        • @Maverick-au: What if you have a 34 inch 9kg monitor like the LG 34UC97 and then add in a smaller 24 inch monitor on the side? This is where I don't think the actual width matters compared to the weight per arm.

Also, there is the option to set them up in a combination of Portrait and Landscape as well.

        • @boohooimissout:

I am thinking to use only one.

In that case you can use larger as long as you don't exceed the weight carrying capacity.

I agree which is why I said they are joined in the middle meaning there is a limit to the size which will vary if you don't want to raise them as high for example.

They might be better off with two single arms however depending on the use.

        • @danielh:

The max recommended size is also to do with the distance it can raise up from the table.

        • @Aneurism: I was thinking maybe the size can feel change the centre of the gravity and make it heavier that it can support.

        • @boohooimissout:

You always have to be under the weight limit, but you can go above the size recommendations, but as i said the max distance between the bottom of the screen and desk decreases.

Weight matters specifically.. Size matters subjectively depending on intended use and needs.

In terms of center of gravity , it should be at the point where the vesa mount attaches. Differences in rotational weight can be offset with rotational tightening.

Whoever downvoted this comment, they asked if it would support 8kg per arm before they edited the comment :P

        • Yes he is right, I changed my comment. Sorry about that.

          Im tempted to buy.

Do u know the maximum height of this thing? I need this because current stand is a bit too short and not height adjustable

        • @boohooimissout: arm length 39cm.

          Out of stock now :/

        • @currentfad: thanks for posting. The single arm is still available

    out of stock ;(

    • When almost double the amount sold than votes. Feelsbadman!

  • It's interesting that Kogan sell it under the Dick smith brand for ~$81

    • They had an "hourly deal" on Kogan's website for $51 earlier today which might explain the price difference. When I clicked in it was already back up in price, but I checked the eBay page and seems like it wasn't changed back yet :)

  • Ugh, deal over, I needed exactly this today when shopping around, anyone have any suggestions for something close in value?

    • It's on their website for $79.. Obviously ~$29 more than during the sale but in the scheme of things is it that big a deal ?

      • Personally, yes. I could do with these and they would make my desk a bit nicer but I dont actually need them, so there’s no way I’d pay 80 bucks for them. 50 on the other hand…

  • missed it..

  • damn..i miss this deal.

  • Missed out on the deal, but found something comparable from Ali at $46 aud:
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/360-Degree-Gas-Spring-Deskto…

    • plus another $50 in postage

      • Ah yeah sorry, says free shipping on search listing, but turns out that's from russian warehouse for russia only :/

  • It’s on presale at Kogan for $59, not as good as the expired deal above but still better than normal full price.

    Plus free shipping.

    Delivery after March 15th.

    Just bought one, thanks OP.
