@CodeXD: Yep, good find. I Googled the model number and got a bunch of US retailers like Best Buy & Walmart.

            • +2

              @CodeXD: Doesn't seem likely..

    • which store was this please?

      • +3

        Vic Park, WA

        • Put the store in title, don't think it's available everywhere

          • +3

            @yanyan1: No need.

Clearance prices are denoted by a yellow tag and are national prices. No need to note the store in the title for clearance but please mention the store & quantity left in the description. Clearance prices denoted by a white sticker (about 2cm x 1cm) are for that store only. Please mention the location in the title

@Twix: Thanks for the info and cleaning up my post Twix

        • +1

Lucky you OP, good find and great price.

    • +1

Tried 2 stores in Vic but they are $1200

      • +3

Which stores? This will help others who are looking.

    • Can someone please let me know if this was the better choice over the s23 from experience? Same price 256gb. Didn't get the targeted email.

      • +7

I'd still pick the S23, worse cameras but much better SoC.

        • +3

I love how we're at the point where people are going to Samsung to avoid using a Samsung SoC. (The S23 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the Pixel uses a "Google" Tensor G2 which is Exynos under the hood with customisation)

      • +3

S23 for battery/SoC, Pixel for software and camera. (I have a pixel 7)

        • That's interesting. I thought I'd lose the camera game. Coming from a Oppo X5 pro.

      • +2

Tons of review sites compare the cameras on the two phones - the P7Pro and the S23Ultra. Cameras usually rate very closely - some websites give the top mark to the P7Pro cameras, other websites give the top mark to the S23Ultra. I'd say they're pretty much equal in that area. I've got the S23Ultra.

        • Thank you all. All I wanted was a Motorola with a good camera and settled for the s23. I've compared and compared. User experience feedback is another helpful side in deciding or regretting

      • Is the s23 available at this price?

    • +1

interesting that this is instore only - I guess they are trying to clear last stocks before the 8/8P is released on 4 October.

      • The 7 pro is sold out even on the google store, this is the last remaining stock.

      • It's actually model GA03454-US — doesn't come up at all on NRBY

    • +1

I have this phone after using multiple S phones. The screen is very fragile. Replacement is $500. Copying files to PC is a pain cause Windows doesn't recognize it as a device. Fast charging only works with certain types of C-C cables, and not really fast as advertised. Auto macro focus doesn't work with the latest OS update.

      • +5

Copying files to PC is a pain cause Windows doesn't recognize it as a device

I have a P6P; this is more the cable you're using rather than Windows. Try a USB-C to USB-C

you need to do this https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/2840804?hl=en

      • Screen is fragile because it's curved rubbish. Moving back to flat is a fantastic move by them.

        • +2

You mean the 8 Pro will have a flat-screen?? I can't wait for the end of curved screens.

          • @jason3w: That's the rumour yes. It's pretty much confirmed to my knowledge.

            It's about goddamn time.

      • Surely everyone uses a case these days anyway?

      • I've noticed macro mode playing up - thought it was a scratch on the lens or something. Seems to engage for no reason, even for landscape shots. Is this what you have experienced?

      • Screen is fine. No problems whatsoever. I put my phone in a case.

    • Can someone try do a price beat with their local? Lol.

    • +3

Don't forget to scan your One pass to get 5x flybuys point, in store purchase only

    • +2

Question, so many upvotes already but has anyone else found this price at any other store, or is it only one store in the whole country?

    • I find these clearance items tend to start with only 1-2 left over stock and aren't available everywhere, by the time it's listed on bargain sites or reddit they're all gone

      • rapid popularity of this post is going to give many people false hope

    • +4

Definitely store specific. I've now tried 3 stores in Victoria, all scanning at $1280.

      • Which model did they scan?
        OW sells two, gpx7pr128s ($1287) and ga03454-us ($787)

    • +2

      Toowoomba, QLD - $1280.

    • +3

Stores are able to set store specific prices and print off on clearance tickets. I used to work for Officeworks.

      • Can other OW stores price match this?

        • +1

Up to the store. They have the ability to change the price to match or set a clearance price it but up to the store whether they will do it. Considering the phone is still on the Officeworks website but unavailable online it's probably in the non replenished stage where we don't get new stock. But it hasn't reached clearance yet. Once it reaches clearance stage, head office will start dropping the price automatically. Usually we used to only set a custom price to rapidly clear it out when it was in late stages of clearance.

      • Thank you, that’s good know.

    • Don't get how the P7P is still mainly going for full retail almost a year after when Optus offered the 24month deal at launch that effectively made these about 650ish through HN and others, and Telstra wasn't too far off with their points deals.

    • That's a brilliant price for a very good phone. I got mine for $869, a very good deal in itself, a few months back and am very happy with it.

A steal at this price, nothing in the same price range will even be close to being as good.

    • +1

Terrible battery life, horrendous fingerprint reader (doesn't even use an USS). Yeah nah I'll wait for Pixel 8 next month

      • Fingerprint reader works fine for me. No problem with the battery life.

      • Absolutely no problem with fingerprint reader on mine, works just as well as other phones I've had.

Battery life is fine too, comparable to the iPhones the rest of my family have, probably a bit better.

How do you know so much about using the 7 pro if you're waiting for the 8? 8 pro will be around double this price too.

    • Need to do the price protection claim. If anyone goes to Vic Park, WA store. Can you please share the screenshot of the discounted ticket price "Hazel" Color please

  • -1

Just tried to price match in the Perth store, and they flatly refused, and wouldn't even go any lower than their sticker price.

    • +1

If you put one aside at Vic Park, I can collect and pay for you.

      • +3

cheers @mmd, but I actually went to East Vic Park store tonight and grabbed the last one (they would only do it for the snow, as that's what was on the sticker, but that's ok, it will have a case on it) - ! got the last one they had in stock. Cheers @ozilicious. The tag wasn't there any more, but I'm wondering it was still on the system at the reduced price, as I showed the photo and the girl on the registered looked it up.

Now to find a phone case, belt case and screen protectors (screen + cameras).

        • good on ya mate :)

  • Merged from Apple iPhone 14 Plus Leather Case with Magsafe Midnight $19 + Delivery ($0 with OnePass/ with $55 Metro Order) @ Officeworks
    Go to Deal

Apple will no longer be selling Leather cases as of the introduction of iPhone 15/15 Pro. Those FineWoven cases they are selling now are just not quality products, but they are selling it at the same price as previous leather cases. We all know that leather is far more superior than that of some recycled content. But understand it’s better for the environment.

If you own an iPhone 14 plus, here is your chance to snatch up a good deal for an Apple leather case.

The other leather colour option Ink is currently available as well.

Merged from Reid Sphinx Dual Suspension Electric Mountain Bike L Size $3099 + Delivery (Free C&C) @ Reid Cycles
    Go to Deal
    Coupon Code: TECHMANPAT200

Reid quote a RRP of $3800, down to $3300, and then $3100 with the above coupon.

This is the best price I could find for a dual suspension, mid hub ebike.

Compared with the Merida eOne-Forty 400 ($5000 at 99 bikes), it has Ananda electrics rather than Shimano (a big step down) but quite good components (but still a small step down from the Merida).

I know Reid gets some hate here. I'm, clicking and collecting, so I have a little more confidence.

In the end, $3100 I could swallow and $5000 was a bit too big a bite. Posting for opinions and the $200 voucher, mostly. (Tech Man Pat gives the bike a pretty good review).

    Here's a chatgpt comparison.

No mention of the rim details on the reid, any idea if they're tubeless compatible? Be a bummer if they're not.
Also no dropper, and not sure how you'd be able to route an internal cable for one either, which is limiting.

Mostly though: (profanity) me bikes are expensive now! Basic Suntour forks and shock on a 5k bike?!

    • I'd steer clear of any ebike that doesn't have a motor from a well known motor manufacturer. My giant ebike has had several controller and sensor problems out of warranty. The local giant shop has always had the parts required in stock and replacement costs are reasonable. Not sure that Ananda motor parts are going to be easy to acquire.

    • +1

Please check the comments section of other Reid posts before purchasing. Customer service is horrid.

    • If you have a reid sphinx, you should probably see a doctor.

    • Yes this is a great deal on an e-bike and luckily backed up by a warranty (you'll likely need it).

The forks and rear suspension are budget

Brakes are Shimano's cheapest and i'd say almost underpowered for a 15-20kg e-bike.

Drivetrain is decent - no issues there.

Electronic drive is a bit hit and miss, i'd personally stick with shimano, but hey if it gets the job done and is covered by warranty who cares.

    • Personally I wouldn't risk the Reid.

There's some serious discounting on mountain bikes at the moment, try your luck with Merida (as mentioned) or Marin or Polygon.

If you're only riding on a road this Reid one might be ok, don't take it on a trail.

  • -5

Nothing wrong with Ananda M100 motor, I stripped mine down and was impressed with the components and build quality. Stupidly powerful. Reid finally paired it with a bigger 15Ah battery which was it's previous weak link and nothing wrong with Shimano MT200 brakes.

If you don't need rear suspension check out the XDS E-Rupt 3.0 & 4.0 models from $2679 / $2349 running Bafang and excellent value for money.

    • Cheers. Having ridden down my road on a hardtail, my arse seriously desires rear suspension.

Merged from New Balance Made in USA 990v1 Green/Yellow $175 + $15 Delivery @ Up There Store
    Go to Deal

    $55 cheaper than SUBTYPE

    DESCRIPTION
The 990’s original designers were tasked with creating the single best running shoe on the market. The finished product more than lived up to its billing. When it hit shelves for the first time in 1982 the 990 sported an elegantly understated grey colorway, and a then unheard of three-figure price tag. For avid runners and ahead of the curve tastemakers alike, the 990 was a mark of quality and superior taste. There have been updates to the design since ’82, and more color options, but the 990’s aspirational status symbol aura has never changed. Simply put, the 990 is the shoe so good, that we’ve never stopped making it. The 990v1 features a premium upper construction and ENCAP midsole cushioning.

F00tlocker has some great prices on clearance shoes - https://www.footlocker.com.au/en/category/mens/shoes?sort=pr…

tip - if they don't have a certain size - there is a certain competitor that price matches.
When requesting the price match, request a size that is in stock from f00tlocker.
The competitor then sends a voucher code that can be used to purchase the equivalent shoe (in any size) from their own store.
