    • Probably not the time for bling watches, however cheap. ..🤔 . !!

    • lol once upon a time these things were only a couple of hundreds not 3k for the basic quartz ones

    • +2

I had this watch in mid 90's and gave it away to nephew in around 2010-2013
he is still using it from time to time
has been abused during my time
Does keeping the time pretty accurate. good watch and brand
however $2599 is only about 23% less than RRP
I believed you can get most tag watch (low to med) for that much anytime any day
this is not a bargain at all.

      • +2

"he is still using it from time to time"

I see what you did there

    • Rba liking this

      • +3

Australia post, on the other hand, prefers Cartier

    • +2

wow, i didnt realise Tag's were 3k for a quartz. At this price, surely you'd expect an automatic movement?

    • -1

lol at the 'poors' thinking this is a flex……

    • +1

better of with this… can buy 2 for the same price https://luxuryswisswatches.com.au/tag-heuer-formula-1-chrono…

      • +1

Cheap as. I bought 365, one for each day

        • well the reason that's cheap is that its NoS

amazon says 2016 but this is what is reasonable for quartz tag chrono

$2,5k for quartz shit is taking the piss

      • Have you ever bought from this store? Are they authorised resellers?

        • +1

well they have stores all over australia so they are like shiels angus coote or any mass market high street jeweller

      • Another option here https://luxuryswisswatches.com.au/tag-heuer-formula-1-quartz…

Better value and a much better colour way than posted deal.

      • +1

as someone well versed in replicas, the listings on this website look very sus. would not recommend buying from here.

      • Lol, posts a site that sells replicas….

    • That expensive for a quartz movement? Really?

      • swiss quartz…

        • as much as i love auto chronos really they arent for a most people

the person who buys a $2.5k tag wants a quartz

    • +3

Many moons ago I picked up at a bargain price a Heuer Deep Dive 1000m. Big, chunky thing. I loved it. Then one day I put the most almighty scratch in the glass after bumping against a star picket. Agh! So I took it to the local dealer who was a Tag dealer and asked if they could fix it. No probs they said, but they'd have to get a new glass in. Fair enough, I thought. About three weeks later I checked in, new glass still on order, they were tricky to get being an older model, etc etc. I wasn't in a hurry so left it there. After a couple of months of not hearing anything I figured I'd better chase them up and…the shop had gone. Closed, emptied out. No warning. Watch gone! I tried to chase something down for a while but got nowhere.

After that, I just haven't been able to face picking up a Tag again.

    • +1

Take it with a bag of Salt.

      Considering this is Quartz.
Way better options are there for 1% of the price.

      Head to TEMU or ALIEXPRESS.
and for 10% of the price you can land a Seiko/citizen Quartz Chronograph.

    • +1

      Tachymetre? More like Tackymetre

    • Have the grey version of this and hasn't missed a beat in 8 years, great reliable quartz chrono.
      The colour of this though…
      not a fan.

Also Tag have lost their way in terms of market demographic, it's not high end and doesn't do mid range too well either.

I'd get an Oris if i had to do it again or Omega/Rolex as a proper watch.

    • Btw anyone know of a good place to service my Tag Heuer watch in Victoria? Anywhere except the shop in Vermont South shopping centre.

    Merged from Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 Gaming Laptop - 17.3" QHD240hz, R9 7945HX, RTX4090, 32GB, 1TB $5139 Delivered + Surcharge @ Centre Com
    Go to Deal

Yeah I know, I know. But this is the deal to get if you are after a 4090M laptop with the no.1 mobile CPU there is. Can't believe Im posting a deal from CentreCon but here we are with them being a good several hundred dollars cheaper than everyone else, and Ive been watching eBay sellers with coupons and whatnot but none have been this 'cheap'.

A comparable desktop build performance wise (base tower only, no fans or monitors etc) I got on PCPP is just above 3100$, with everything setup, a proper desktop of the performance of this would set you back 4 grand give or take. Probably 3.5 if you get in on all the deals and such?

As per the usual, the 4090 here is not a desktop 4090 or anywhere close to it. Its a 4080 die with GDDR6 vram running at a very conservative 175w leading to ~4070ti levels of performance. I dont have the proper benchmarks to back it up, but you can estimate worse performance than 4070ti at 1080p, while QHD/4k/UW will see 4090M giving better frames due to higher bandwidth and larger vram. The 7945HX is, to put it simply, a delidded 7950X running at reduced wattage, single core wise it runs worse than a 7900x but better multicores which puts it in under the 7950x.

To round it up, this laptop uses the same chasis as last years Strix Scar 17 SE, with the huge vapor chamber design, so thermals definitely isnt an issue, points are taken off for the 16:9 screen with many others using 16:10 now with higher brightness, but apart from that, its a good 1440p 240hz panel with 100% dci-p3, gsync and the whole nine yards. 1TB of PC801 is included which is an oem version of the hynix P41 - basically the fastest consumer drive there is. And as for the wifi card its our same old meditatek* friend, which some folks may considering into upgrading to an ax210 or ax410 whenever that is released.

*Not to Asus's fault, going across the market you will find no AMD based machine from any brand uses Intel/Killer wifi card stock and opted for Mediatek/Realtek etc solutions, a loss to the consumer, whether if its intel or AMD forcing manufactuerers to do so is another question.

A more detailed review on the 7945HX here and a review on the Scar 17 here, for those that like reading more than watching a video should go to notebookcheck's review here.

    Surcharges: 1.2% Card & PayPal, 2% AmEx.
Free shipping excludes WA & NT.

    • +4

Thumb up for the detailed description. Bought 0.

    • One more thing, I forgot to make a deal for this before it was expired. But for those that dont care about AMD (i know some folks disliked the whole p&e thing on intel that doesnt run well with the program they use), L7i Pro is your go to for cheapest 4090 as long as you wait for a return on this cashback deal. Lenovo doesnt seem to be doing a flagship amd machine this year which is sad but what can you do right.

    • Good description. A laptop will never match a desktop. At this price you are losing money

For those who missed out on the earlier amazon deal, Target is clearing these out. Online looks to be only available in Tweed Heads and Launceston, but check your local target by quoting the Item code: 65524077. YMMV

  • Merged from Phillips Hue 100w Outdoor Power Supply $2.19 @ Bunnings Albury
    Go to Deal

Only 5 left, in store only. Bunnings deleted product special

      • +1

Because there's stock still available across the state according to the Bunnings staff. Apologies for not mentioning this in my post.

        • They won't match other stores tho

          • @chris666: The staff member at the counter said that because it's a deleted item, it is currently in their system at either $2.19 or 55c (depending on the store) across NSW until gone.
If they have it in stock, that's what you pay. No price match needed.

    • Wow paid $80 price matched at bunnings yesterday

  • Merged from The Iconic Cricket Jumper $329 Delivered @ Ralph Lauren

Pretty good deal for a brand that doesn't discount much.

    • +6

      England has left the chat.

      • Sorry back soon just checking Smith's pockets.

    • +4

Sorry, but I wouldn’t spend $20 for this.

      • +1

not sure why you got a downvote, you're entitled to your opinion.

        • +1

          That was probably OP.

          • @Thrifty Dan: That was me. $20 doesn't get you much these days. This is pretty good for $20.

            • +1

@ozbs25: The question is, what are you going to do with your extra $5?

              • @kiriakoz: They aren't the same thing. No point in trying to compare. Both the $329 and $20 price points are ridiculous for a jumper like that.

                • @ozbs25: I never said they were the same thing. You said $15 doesn't get you much. Please point to where I said it was the same thing.

                  • @kiriakoz: A noname hoodie doesn't count.

                    • @ozbs25: Why not? They're usually made in the same factory as your overpriced name crap.

                      • @kiriakoz: You can get it anywhere, anytime. They aren't as comfortabe and don't last as long.

                        • @ozbs25: Doesn't last as long? Your name crap is almost 22 times the price. It's going to have to last for a few lifetimes to justify the extra price. Absolute bollox from you here mate.

                          • @kiriakoz: Tell me where I said I'm getting name crap for almost 22 times the price. You like Superdry right? That's not cheap.

                            • @ozbs25: I was literally talking about this Ralph Lauren jumper that we've been talking about. Remember or did you have a breakdown midway through this conversation?

                              • @kiriakoz: I didn't say I was buying it. I even said the price was ridiculous.

                                • -1

@ozbs25: I never said you were buying it either, I was comparing the price between the two and telling you it's 22 times as much. Are you okay mate?

@Nom: mine is wonderfully hidden (laying on its edge) in cable management trays (from ebay (like these: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265860790222) 2 large ones (i have a massive desk and lots of cables for IT gear) - cat proofing, no dangly cables for kitty to play with) under my desk

note: those cable management trays ARE far far better than the cheaply made IKEA ones which fell apart in 2 months, and theyre easier to install

    • Was gonna grab it but says coupon isn't valid:(

      • The 6 port is $40 right now -https://www.amazon.com.au/Belkin-BSV604au2M-Travel-Surge-Protector/dp/B074858LY9/
