Fantastic deal. Go watch it if you are into stuff like Family Guy, South Park (same creators), and don't mind a little blasphemy and vulgarity.

DO NOT GO if you are easily offended. I had a ball, the guy beside me didn't.

Went twice in Melb, after listening to the soundtrack I think the Aussie cast is better than the original!

      • I thought the exact same thing, loved the Aussie cast!

        • +1

If I’m not wrong the Aussie cast is actually from Canada, (I bought the program - very unozbargain-like of me). I didn’t think Australia would have a diverse enough pool of talent to support a production like that.

        • The two main actors were from Canada, but there were some local talent among the cast

I hope this comes to Brisbane.

    • If it does I will see you there BUDDY.

      • Don't call me Buddy, PAL!

        • I'm not your pal, friend!

        • I’m not your friend, buddy!

        • @jok3r: I'm not your Buddy, Guy!

  • Saw this in Melbourne, I think it was worth the ~$70 ticket price, and normally I hate musicals.
    Very funny, very crude.

    • Me too. Not a big fan of musicals but this one rocked.

  • Hilarious, I saw it in Melbourne, very funny, I laughed all night. As another poster said above though, if you are very religious or offended easily by vulgarity go to the opera instead. In the bar at the interval of the show I went to there was a woman demanding that her husband take her home straight away as she couldnt watch another second etc etc, the group I went with we were using the break by holding our sides and gasping for a break from all the laughing. The basic pretext of this show is lampooning the Mormon Church and their associated missionaries etc. This is done by the same guys that do South Park. For me that was a great indicator i would have a laugh and it was spot on. If you are deeply religious or a Mormon and offended by swearing etc then stay at home.

  • i thought this is about mormon religion thingie?

my mother is very religious so I was shocked when she said she was going to see this. She absolutely loved it, she said it was rude, crude, vulgar, funny and hilarious. She loved the fact ti took the piss out of everyone equally and she said if you can't laugh at yourself then you need to lighten up.

Your mother sounds like a great person

  • would the english be hard to understand? (fast and lots of jargon?)

      Colloquialism at its finest.

Its aimed at illiterates, sheep followers and those who can't use their brain to seek and see the truth!

      • alright, was thinking to bring someone with english is not their 1st language, probably better not. plus they are church fanatics.

        • Try listening to the soundtrack, that will give you an idea of what to expect

  • Great show and every time I'm reminded of it I keep hearing this tune "Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb!"

I just got back last week from skiing in 'SALT-A LAKE-A SEEETY"

  • What are the chances there'll be no one waiting in line?

We did the most ozbargain thing ever. Looking for good seats, the missus and I. But there were none together in the front of the stalls.

So we picked the very last seat at the end of two consecutive rows. $250 seat for 80 each!

    • haha - That's the ozbargain Spirit! :)

Heads up… My friend lined up for these $20 tickets in Melbourne. He arrived a couple of hours before the start time of 9am, and still waited 12 hours in line, in the heat, getting sunburned. In the end, he still missed out and was offered $40 tickets for standing in line.

    Just a heads up!!

I'm all for getting a bargain, but to spend 12 hours in line to save $80 per ticket seems so unproductive and a waste of a day.

      • Exactly.

      • There was coffee, donuts and sing-alongs (mainly RENT).

    • Can confirm it was about 12hrs (we got there 10pm btw). We got $20 tix, then sold one, and bought another at the end of the season.

      • You mean 10am? And how much were tickets at the end of season?

        • +1

Haha no. 10pm. The worst thing was that this theatre was on the route of ALL the city's garbage trucks. $120-ish, but we got $40 rush tix.

  • Anyone knows if it is coming to Perth? Heard rumours a few months ago but couldn't find anything online that confirms

  • Can anyone please give live updates? I can't make it but just interested to hear what I missed out on!
