  • Any real feedback from this? I don't want to feed my Diogenes lol

    • +8

Got one from shopping square or some site.

Used it once.. came out useless. Now is a wiping cloth.

    • +2

Well I now feel more educated on Diogenes, at first I thought you were referring to your potato eating pet :P

      • +1

Just don't feed him in the marketplace…..

  • Some on Amazon say they catch fire if they touch the sides of the microwave, so watch out.

    This one anyway.

    • Yeah, I'm not going near this.

You don't need to put potatoes in a bag to cook them in the microwave. Just pierce them a few times with a knife and put them in; rub some olive oil on the skin if you like as well.

    • +2

      agreed. This item is useless.

      • +3

now how many times could people post that here….

      • +1

The most positively voted deals often have cheap useless items. cough cough Zapals?

rub some olive oil on the skin if you like as well.

I guess you got to entertain yourself while the potatoes are cooking.

      • K that got a giggle.. high 5

I make 'cheat roast potatoes' by cooking them in the microwave for 10 minutes and then crisping them in the oven for 20 minutes.

    • Same deal using a steamer.
Not all spuds are good for microwave either.. some come out chalky with the water loss

    • How big are these potatoes? I cook 2 or 3 in the microwave for any more than about 8 mins for 2 and they start to shrink and slump in on themselves.
      I can't imagine 10mins + 20mins in the oven, they've have disintegrated into nothing…

      • I got 5 or so potatoes in microwave for 4 mins… and 20 or so in the oven. works great

      • I use Dutch Cream potatoes and usually go for large ones as they're quicker to scrub. I'll cut them in half and add some olive oil and season with salt and pepper. They haven't disintegrated on me yet!

  • I used it to make sweet potatoes. It worked great. Not as nice as a buttered proper one, but considering how much healthier it is it’s fine.

    • Why bother with the bag/cover/cloth for cooking sweet potatoes, I just put mine directly in the microwave.

  • +2

according to above comments this is actually a wiping cloth that catches on fire… which is still more useful than a microwaveable potato bag

  • I lightly wet a tea towel and put the potatoes in the middle and fold over the top. They come out lovely.
