  • I love this design. The SRPB53K1 seems like excellent value for genuine diver and unique design. Prices seem to be dropping, so I'm going to hold out a little longer. I think they look fantastic on the SS bracelet.

    • Yeah this is a fairly new model, so prices should keep dropping.
But if you must have one now, this is the cheapest I can find.

    • price dropping caused by bad build quality, search the net u'd see, and a few owners made video about it…

      • -1

I'm too lazy. Can you tell me why the build is bad? Loose glad? Not water tight?

        • The usual Seiko problem of badly applied indices and chapter rings etc (Details on the face aren't lined up properly)

        • Brand new releases aren't discounted, it takes time for the prices to trickle down as they become more readily available and the initial hype is exhausted. Lower-mid range Seikos often have mis-aligned bezels and chapter rings. But let's not forgot these are cheap, mass-produced divers with extreme durability and longevity overall. It's easy to come across owners of Seikos with visual defects since thousands are made in comparison to most other manufacturers of divers (at this price point).

        • just saw ur post, in addition to the above, some reported crown (stem) was not centred, lume application…

        • @alexGoodwin:
I've seen the complaints about the crown being off center but most seem bogus. It's easy to make it seem off in photos or even just holding it at the wrong angle.

    • Love the Pepsi dial. Why do you think the price will continue to drop? $356 is expensive, how much lower do you think it will go to grab it at a better price?

      • Grabbed mine on Ebay for $300 AU with express delivery last month.

        • Link? What’s your thoughts on the watch?

        • @Ozjoey:
It was from https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Seiko-Prospex-Samurai-Automatic-… . Tried posting it as a deal but it was deleted despite having plenty of stock :/

Dial is beautiful, can't stop looking at it. Lume glows like the sun, quality feels great for the price.

Biggest downside is it's very thick, and the sharply angled case makes it look really tall on the wrist.

        • @Merlict: 13.5mm thickness is pretty good for a 200m dive watch though.

        • @Merlict: Thanks but price is $403. Is the watch chunky on your wrist due to the rubber band?

        • @Ozjoey: Sure, just saying they've been cheaper than this and probably will be again. The rubber keeps it pretty tight to the wrist, wouldn't really look slimmer much slimmer on other bands

        • @Merlict: Ok, Thanks. Will hold off for now

  • hi OP, what's the difference btw 4R35 and NH35, NH36 …?

both hack and hand-windable, and looks almost same? is it a markeing trick of Seiko, given NH35 movement watch is really cheap? not to mention the dirt cheap Seiko fives (no hack or hand-wind).

    • Different day and date configurations mostly and ability to hack. I think NH is the code used for wholesale movements i.e. micro-brands.

      • Seiko's trying to differ 4R35 to old Seiko Five, but i think 4R35 is just another NH35/36

        • 4R and 6R are in-house movement codes. Micros use NH35/36. Same movements. Just google for the code comparisons.

What is the different between SRPB53K1 and SRPB53K, it was $293 during past Starbuy sale, which i bought one and really happy with it.

    • No difference, I forgot about that deal post, which doesn't make this look that good after all.

I think I will delete this post now, haha.

    • Probably just a number.

  • Ah damn, nice looking watch but the case size of 44mm is humongous.

    • Maybe keep an eye out for a deal on the legendary 42mm Seiko SKX007/009 models.
Old post for specs & reviews.

    • It's not that bad and wears fairly small, I have a 6 inch wrist and it looks ok on me.

    • It wears small on the wrist since the lug to lug (which is probably more of an indicator of fitment than case size) is only 48mm which is quite short. The bezel will make it feel smaller too. My SKX and Turtle both feel much smaller than their dimension indicate.

Good price but if anyone is visiting the Philippines this watch can be had for about 300Aud

  • Automatic winding type with manual winding mechanism

    why all the trouble

    • +2

It's automatically powered by the movement of your wrist, but it takes a fair bit to get it fully charged.

So if you haven't been wearing it for a few days you can pop out the crown, wind it up and set it and it'll be good to go straight away.

  • Can anyone comfirm how to do returns or warranty claims with items purchased from amazon USA ?
I have just received a portable hard drive which is faulty (dead on arrival) .
Im hoping its similar to ebay in that the receiver of faulty items is not responsible for any costs associated with return.
If anyone can comfirm please how we in Australia, do returns or warranty claims for items purchased on Amazon USA , would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.

Click the 'Orders tab' on the top right of the screen near 'Cart.' Locate your purchased item to get more information. Look for 'return or replace items.' Follow the wizard and answer the questions. If you can't get an answer, then initiate a chat. I wouldn't leave it too long though, Amazon should take care of it. If they don't do enough on chat at first, be a little more persistent and they will probably cave. I've always found them very helpful.

You'll probably get more of a response next time if you ask in the forums.

      • Thanks very much.
I ended up emailing their support people and they have been quite helpful. They offered replacement, then replacement from same seller was out of stock, so they said to purchase from another seller, and they wiuld refund the difference.
The original supplier seemed to come back into stock. The support people emailed me links to everything , including return post labels.
They were quite good really. Very helpful and understanding.
        Thanks for your advice.
        Happy New Year
