Citizen Tsuyosa Automatic Watch (Teal, Blue, Black) $319 Delivered @ Starbuy

150

Banger prices for three different Tsuyosa models. Makes me a bit envious considering I bought the Teal for ~$400 several months ago, but a deal is a deal!

  • Does anyone else experience this coding error on Starbuys' website?

When you hover over the first photo on a product page, you get a zoomed in image of the first photo.
When you hover over the second photo on a product page, you don't get a zoomed in image of the second photo… instead it gives you the first one again.

    • Wow, yep - good pickup!

  • Actually want to buy this but it's the wife's birthday next week, not mine :(

    • buy a matching one for her and you're good

  • Heading to Japan in 3 weeks - wondering if I can get it cheaper there (especially with the tax rebates).. anyone been recently and went watch shopping? Are the watches there generally more pricey/cheaper?

    • +1

I've been to Japan several times over the past decade (returned from my last trip about a week ago). My experience (looking primarily at Orient and Seiko) has been that normal prices are similar to Australia (after deducting sales tax and dollar-yen conversion) and not competitive with grey market options (e.g. an Orient Star watch I had my eye on for a few years was always $AUD2k+ whereas I'd seen SkyWatches in Singapore list it for AUD$1.6k or less). So you might need to hunt down any specials/sales which are on when you go. (On that note, there was a 20% sale on Orient watches the other day, but there was nothing in that particular store that tickled my fancy.)

The places that I usually go gawking are BIC Camera and Yodobashi Camera. Some stores are bigger than others and have a better selection, so be prepared to take a few train/subway rides :)
