Agreed! It's just really….. different.
Unique colour, very pretty.
Got the silver dial version but would prefer this or the salmon dial.
Looks alright wonder why it costs that much?
I'd recommend a Komasu (mako 2/3).
was wondering the same - aussie dollar is pretty sht against USD. Id be tempted in the 200-300 buck range
aussie dollar is pretty sht against USD
it's too bad that most Japanese sellers only cater to their domestic market, made it harder to capitalise on the weaker JPY, especially 6ish months ago when it was at its lowest
could have been some great bargains but most items for export are marked up, or the savings are mitigated by proxy service fees
Yeah the dollar isn't the best but still cheaper than locally (or not available locally). Plenty of choices around, and yes Creation Watches is a grey import obviously.
I still don't know what is so good about it besides being purple, has anyone looked up the movement? No doubt similar to Orient Makos (in-house calibre).
For comparisons sake I got this Orient 'Kamasu' for A$305 back at the time.
@G-rig: Honestly, they’re completely different genres. The Kamasu is a tool watch, while this one (despite being styled as a diver) is more of a dress watch. The leather strap should be a dead give away.
And speaking of the strap, don’t forget that with every other Orient you need to factor in the cost of a replacement strap. Their pressed metal bracelets with hollow end links are beyond trash. I’d read that they were bad before buying my first Orient, but didn’t really heed it. But they’re honestly awful. I changed the Kamasu for a cheap jubilee with solid end links from eBay, but I have a Mako II I practically refuse to wear because I don’t want to jangle all day. (And I don’t like it enough to spend the money on a replacement strap).
@ASR-Briggs: So it's just cosmetics really, no doubt a similar quality movement (i'd assume no ghost date)
Yeah not hard change watch straps/bracelets, I got a jubilee for mine the stock bracelets aren't great.
Just get what you like the look of, no need to justify to anyone but yourself :).
@G-rig: Absolutely true. I like this one because I think it’s unique. And different enough from a Kamasu to warrant a purchase.
On the movement, they are actually different calibres. Cal.F6922 in the Kamasu vs Cal.F6722 in the Mako 40. They have the same bpm, power reserve, and rated accuracy. I assume the 6722 is a slightly miniaturised version to fit the smaller case.
@ASR-Briggs: yeah mate sounds good - different fore sure date vs day date. Quality should be the same, just worth checking but I'm sure both are reliable.
ps. CR has 17% adult fashion and accessories for Myer, watches should be included in that (?) if I'm not mistaken..
@G-rig: Mostly fashion watches hey, but they at least carry Seiko, some Citizen and Mido (although, everyone poo pooed my last Mido deal 😛). It’s a shame they don’t carry the Timex titanium deepwater. I’d be all over that.
@ASR-Briggs: Didn't see that. Yeah I was looking at The quartz deep water reef, looks simple and clean (no date or cyclops). Wallace Bishop want $999 for the titanium. It does look nice, especially the lumed bezel but it's still too expensive, and got a basic Miyota 8 series auto.
So I reckon the 17% would apply and just do a 28 d price protection as they are often $270. I tried one on and not too bad. The bezel is a bit light but totally fine. I reckon I'd put a normal tropics strap on it. I'd usually go black but the yellow rubber may be more heavily reduced in the future.
Ps tictacarea sell them as well for just under $270.
@G-rig: Keep in mind that CBA Yello are running a flat 25% off code at The Iconic. I know that it works on the Mido watches (saving $500+ dollars….). But I think there’s a lot of overlap in the range, and you can probably roll the dice with a cash back site also.
@ASR-Briggs: Nice, don't have that. Just had a look, full price so no point (no doubt good on reduced items). Watch direct still has 15% off as well I think).
No idea. But it’s much, MUCH more expensive trying to source it in AUD from eBay or a reseller.
And I already have a Kamasu in red (which I love dearly), but this is a very different style. I don’t really think they’re comparable.
AU$395.52 on eBay.com.au???

I think CWtime is Creation watches.
The reference numbers are different but this was the first web search hit when i entered your reference in the post title.
Oh wow, great find. Did not come up in my searches this morning. Every eBay listing I saw was ~600AUD. I wonder why they’re using a slightly different model code. (Perhaps to signify the revised version….)
I updated the post with your much better find
@ASR-Briggs: except says 5 in stock
I've been waiting for a sale on the Kamasu, I'm eyeing the blue
It's a bit too expensive for a mako tbh, I got my silver dial for $323 in July last year with bracelet (not strap).
That's beautiful.
