Hey hey, I actually got one of these from Yodobashi while in Japan a couple of months ago.

The blue is very sedate under normal indoor lighting, but when in the sun/stronger light it really shines and is very vibrant. Worth looking at some videos on if you're interested, pics don't do it justice.

While only a couple of months in its run well for me otherwise and has been my daily for this period, my copy has kept time quite well (but YMMV).

This price seems very good too, I paid $295ish tax-free in store. Add tax/international shipping and this seems more than fair

    • please is it sunburst like other orient blue (i have no green/blue green)

      • Not sunburst ie no radial pattern, but has the sheen that sunburst usually have.

I have a quick vid I'll see if I can upload it

My attempt at a quick vid.

Obviously better in actual sun rather than just with phone torch, but hopefully gives you an idea

        • Did you film it in a commercial kitchen?

          • +1

@MS Paint: No, just a white benchtop.

Lighting is funny because I had to set the camera to manual, otherwise it changed exposure a lot and didn't show the shimmer of the face.

            • @mattman: I was more curious about the background audio. It sounded like a commercial setting.

FYI - Camel says the average price is… $321.80

Newly released Mako 40 is a good price too. Most stores have this for $500.

    use code NY10 for $220

    orange highlight Blue bezel/dial

note i bought from this site many times, currency conversion by store and bank overseas fees ~ 7-8% on total

  • That's the regular price on Amazon.

  • Nice….don't look too hard and it could be a Omega.

  • Nice colour. A Komasu with sapphire wouldn't be too more?

  • Hey, how can we be sure these are legit, most of these are going for around 500 aud, and this is shipping out of Amazon Japan, on which this is the cheapest one, and only has 47 reviews, with another being sold (with 1000+ reviews) for around 700 aud

  • Before big A setting up shop in Aus, only big A UK and US would post to Aus address. There were items listed on big A US from big A Canada France Germany Japan that required freight forwarding company charging "insurance" based on value, so you should recall Rakuten (similar to the Bay and big A) from Japan marking up prices 15-20%

Orient USA used to sell US addresses only at Japan domestic prices

  • Also price increases and depends if companies are clearing stock, the Komasu didn't even use to be over $400-$500. No unusual to get 30% off a watch these days. Does seem like there aren't many AD in Aus though.

    • someone got the last blue above for 325

      now it's near 600

  • Arrived : beautiful

  • the teal one only 1 remaining

some smart person snapped up the red ones they may not be popular colour but resale price would increase faster (sold out)

  • the teal bezel is pale green between 0 and 15

    better photos here

    https://www.orientwatchusa.com/collections/sport/ra-aa0811e1…

  • teal sold out same as red

only all black or all blue now

    Back in stock

    Price the same

    • Thanks, always wanted a Komasu and in teal.
Edit: so this is a actually an Kamasu Mako III?

better pics showing green highlight on bezel

comparing Kamasu and this just different colour schemes and tea-stained hour markers

  • Is it fair to assume the RN-AA0811E is the Kamasu and same as the Mako III, hard to really tell much difference.
The jomashop watch that looks the same is the RA-AA0811E19B (Assume USA version or something).
    Cheers,
