  • If your invoice cost is >$1000, surely they will hit you GST on the way Into Australia?

    • Not all sellers do, the smart ones declare the value below the $900 mark

        smart

        You spelt dishonest wrong

I wonder if customs pay special attention to anything with the words "galaxy" and "note" on it now, in case someone is sending one of the old bomb versions through the post.

hope someone can help me here - wondering what is the point of a Dual Sim if one Sim can only do 2G? Or have i read the specs incorrectly?

    • So that you can receive calls and texts without carrying a second phone?

      • +1

but if second Sim slot only 2G and Aus networks have closed their 2G bands, then is is useless.
usefully only if Sim 2 is 3G as mentioned below, but then issues with microSD

        • Oh sorry missed the 2g part. Hmm my dad uses a dual note 5,it does say 2g but he still manages to receive the calls and texts with the overseas sim in that slot.

Apparently they specs are wrong and the phone does 3G on the standby SIM. Trouble with this phone (and many others) is the 2nd SIM is shared with the MicroSD card. So if you're intent is on using both SIM cards and a MicroSD, it wont work unless you get creative.

      • They are trying to save money in the design, so they don't need to create an additional slot for the second sim. Bad design as the user needs to compromise whether to use the second sim or the micro sd. This trend doesn't appear to be changing.

      • Omg I remember filing my micro ad card down to thin it and then striping the chip of my GSM card and sticking it to the back of the sd card and jamming it into my Huawei mate 8

As per various forum sites claiming this will work

End up breaking a plastic bit inside the phone.😭
