iPhone 6S Plus 32 GB $747 at Harvey Norman

170

While looking for stock for the iPhone 8 $59/month deal at Harvey-Norman, I found that the 6S Plus 32 GB is on clearance for $747. There is some stock for online ordering as well. JB Hifi has a similar in-store price of $749 (jb hifi online shows a different price of $849).

If you have two registered Amex cards with the HN $100 credit, then add a $53 filler, and split the $800+ payment over two cards for a fantastic deal on the iPhone.

That sounds very high for a over 2 year old phone…

    • But at $550 with 2 Amex cards it is much better.

      • How? $400 min spend per card required. $600 is the best you can get it by adding a $53 item.

        • About 547 for the phone and the $53 item. Or, if you want to apply the $200 in proportion, then the final cost of the is $747 - $200 * ($747/$800) = $560.25. However, that still assumes you have two (unused) Amex cards with the HN offer loaded. And that you have something you need priced at ~$55.

Personally, I find the plus displays too big and I am happy with the SE form factor but posted this deal since I know a lot of people really prefer the bigger displays.

      • AMEX condition: Excludes purchases of AEG, Apple, Asko, De Dietrich, Elica, Fagor, Falcon, Gaggenau, Miele, NEFF and St George products.

You must be new to AMEX offers?

      But but but… Apple….

It will be much cheaper to head down to Woolworths or Coles to buy 6+ apples.

Wouldnt the iphone 7 be a better phone for an 649? And you dont have to spend extra cash as its already above $800.

      Which store?

6S is just over 2 years old now, and 3 generations old behind 7, 8 and X. At that price I don’t think it’s worth it, given the SE sold for about $400 when it was about a year old which will be similar in specs except for size and some internals like front camera.

    • I'd have to 2nd that HN trying to doing what it does best rip people off

I think you'll find Apple is the one setting the base price to rip people off. But for that kind of money you could get 2x Android phones with double the specs. If I'm spending $700+ I want more than 32GB…

        • I agree that's why I dont have an Iphone

  • Depends when you need a phone and what form factor you preffer.

Im currently on android but the iphone x is appealing from a hardware perspective …5.5" screen res but common 5" form factor as no home button space wasted … Might have to wait 2 updates until its in my budget.

    Just a thought

If you buy this phone and add the current optus promo of 15GB data for $30 over 24 months it will cost you $1467

You can right now get the iPhone 8 64GB (not plus) with 20GB data for $59pm which totals $1416 over 24 months

    Pros and Cons

    ….just saying :-P

    • I agree. This deal is mostly aimed for people that want the bigger screen

    • I think you're right, but something to think about is BYO plans are 12 months.
24 months is a looong contract and prices fall.
My Optus 12 mth 10GB plan just ran out.
Moving to Voda 30GB for the same price.

      • Yes. Im not a fan of contracts but this is a 20GB plan, should keep you satisfied for 24 months. You also have the option to return phone, pay $99 and recontact in 12 months if you wish.

As I said , Pros and Cons :-)

sold my mrs' 6S Plus due to slowdown and battery from the current update. Had to downgrade just so it's usable and avoid battery drain. Don't update to iOS 11 if you have an iPhone 7 and below. This happens each iteration to push their customers to purchase the latest iPhone.

    • Maybe it needs a new battery?

      • No.. I can vouch notable differences in speed and battery life with iOS11. Anything up to 20% less usage is noted in my testing. I am tempted to factory reset to see if it helps.

        • Factory reset definitely helps. My 6+ was utterly unusable until I did a reset.
Ironic that iOS now needs periodic resets like Windows XP.
Also have a newish 6S running iOS 11, which runs like a dream.

  • A bit early for April's fool,init?

  • It has both band 28 and a headphone jack… But still not a bargain.

  • So 14 Isheep thinks this is a good deal of a phone. I rather spend 202 dollar more fora samsung note 8 via kogan.

  • Is a 'like new' graded iPhone 6s+ 64gb from one of those ebay preowned phone businesses a good deal though for $550?

    • I bought a 6s 64gb and the description said it was new. Although it was activated and Apple warranty expired. Paid $550 for it. Checked battery wear and it’s at 13% ( 2 months since I bought it). Can’t complain cause the phone was in excellent condition.

    • Compared to this? No way.
2 year Apple store walk in warranty. TRS refund if you travel within 60 days.
Brand new unscratched phone. No risk of stolen phone.
