    Be aware that the 32gb is rated U1 and not U3 i.e. it has a lower min write speed compared to the 64gb evo plus

    • +2

      This might be useful for everyone else who doesn't know what they're looking at: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/computers/tips-and-solu…

      U1 = at least 10MB/s write speed
      U2 = at least 20MB/s write speed
      U3 = at least 30MB/s write speed

    • Will that be fast enough for 30fps 1080p on an action camera?

      • +2

        Unfortunately the resolution and FPS does not contain enough information to answer as it depends entirely on the bitrate you are recording at. 10MB/s = 80Mb/s, which should be sufficient for most consumer level devices - the mavic pro and latest gopro only record at 60-80Mb/s from what I can see, even at 4k. Similarly iphone 8 records 4k at around 54Mb/s.

      • In other word, look up on the specification of your action camera, see what video bitrate is its 30fps 1080p mode recording in, then you will know if this card is fast enough or not.

  • Best 32gb price I have seen in a while.

  • Good work OP

          But yeah never leave UX design to IT guy haha

        • @MiniInTheBox:

          Also, your system doesn't seem to send emails to people with a hyphen in their email address. I haven't received ANY emails from you since signing up, despite hitting "re-send verification email" many times, and successfully ordering the SD card in this deal. Nothing came through, not in my spam folder either.

          EDIT: I Just got a "Payment Confirmed" email from you - to my still-unconfirmed email address. Still no sign-up confirmation emails.

  • Stick this in a dashcam. All you'll ever need.

  • How long does it take to arrive in Australia?

    6 - 35 business days that is insane long.

    • +1

      normally 3-5 weeks

  • Code doesn't work

    • +2

      just confirmed, still working, please don't add any blank, nor sure if this worth a neg vote

    • Sorry for the negative vote, fat fingers :( Can't seem to reverse it. Code is working - maybe there are multiple evo+ 32gb item pages and the code only works on some.

      • +1

        :) never mind, hope you enjoy this

  • +1

    Is this good for a dash cam or overkill?

    • Overkill? They're probably the lowest quality cards you'll want to buy. Lifespan will be limited because they're not designed for the constant overwriting they'll endure in a dashcam.

  • I assume this is no good for the Gear 360 due to write speeds? Wouldn't handle continuous 4K I imagine.

    • It should be fine. The 2017 Gear 360's bitrate is only 7.5MB/s (60Mb/s) according to this article. The older Gear 360 has a lower bitrate.

  • Is it ok to use for 4k recording? If not could you recommend any 4k sdcard?

    • Nowhere near for 4K. You definitely have to care about what card you buy when talking about 4K. I’d recommend something like the Lexar Professional 1000x UHS-II cards. Others will have their preferences.

    • It depends on what is the video bitrate your 4K video device is recording in?
      I know older GoPro and DJI drones record 4K video in 7.5MB/s, this card can write 20MB/s, so it has no problem handling 4K video recording in those devices. But i am sure newer devices may record 4K video at much higher bitrate, then this card may struggle, so you have to check the device you intend to use first.

    • Probably, the bitrate for consumer level cameras is not that high.

      To be sure, check the specs of your camera.

      e.g. GoPro Hero 4 black
      The maximum bitrate is 60Mbps.
      Divide by 8 to convert from bits to Bytes.
      The bitrate for 4k video is 7.5MBps which less than the rated 10 MBps for this U1 card.

  • im getting AUD $13.47 via paypal ?

    • Paypal does charge additional conversion fee.

    Any deal on SD cards?

  • +1

    Showing as USD $10.49 for me, insurance removed.

  • The codes are working. But the prices in this post are not accurate after the coupon. Please update this post with accurate price. It's AUD 13.56.

    The coupon code "TUT4132 " is valid! Your discount is AUD $ 4.27 (expiration date: 12/11/2017)

    Subtotal( 2 items ): AUD $ 17.83
    (+) Shipping Charges: Free
    (-) Coupon Savings: AUD $ -4.27

    Grand Total: AUD $ 13.56

    • How do you pay for it? Does that payment charge an additional fee?

    • +3

      You need to pay in USD, not AUD. I paid USD via Paypal, linked to my 28 Degrees card with Paypal set to bill "in the currency on Seller's Invoice". Checked my 28 Degrees statement and I was only charged $12.85, which is cheaper than what the OP has quoted.

      • I couldn't find how to change the currency on the site/cart to USD. So it stayed AUD. I selected Paypal and paid via Paypal. This was the price shown in the cart before going into Paypal.

        • Look at the top of the page on the right side where it says "Ship to:" with the Australian flag next to it. Click on that and it will open a window with all the shipping destinations. At the bottom of the page is a box where you can choose your currency. Make sure it is set to USD.

          To set up your Paypal correctly, follow the instructions here.

  • After going through the hoops - & cutting back the composite coupon code to just the first ;( - had to limit my dual purchase to just the ONE. Reduction NOT scaled up - but U$9.80 sale.

    I guess further purchases need to be individual?

  • +1

    I'd rather goto kmart and get a verbatim one for $25 and walk away with it today than save $11 and get it in 3 to 5 weeks (and probably less likely to be a dodgy knockoff)

    OR a Samsung EVO from the evil Harvey Norman for $18 even though they claim its "The class 10 Samsung Evo+ features read speeds of up to 80MB/s." which is contrary to what was posted above (though you can get an ultra for $24).

  • will the 32gb samsung work good on the recent car-dvr deal?

    https://www.gearbest.com/car-dvr/pp_196898.html

  • +1

    from previous post, lightinthebox seems sell fake memory card, can anyone confirm that.

  • Worked for me. I got US9.80, but the PayPal exchange rate meant I paid AUD 13.50.

  • more code added:TUT4133/TUT4134 in case previous code all used.

  • TUT4131 still working just now…but not when combined with buying the raspi. Fixed by making 2 separate purchases.

  • just tried again, shipping to Au, postage $0.69 for tracking and free for no tracking, was this what you guys get?

  • TRIED 100 TIMES AND KEEP TELLING ME "This shipping address is incomplete, please supply all the needed information." i've filled everything?? wtf???

  • Mine arrived today, 9 January. Ordered on 7/12, so it took four weeks and five days to arrive.

    • Mine arrived today also, just did some tests on read and write speeds which were disappointing. Considering it's advertised as 95MB/s Read and 20MB/s Write. Getting around 17MB/s Write and 18 MB/s Read speeds. Have you tested yours?

      • Just tested mine, I filled it with 30G of random data in 15m49s, so that's 31.6Mbytes per second.

        Here's how I did it, in Linux. First I created a 1G file of random data in a ram drive, then copied it 30 times:

        # dd if=/dev/urandom of=test.dat bs=10M count=100
        # time for i in {1..30} ; do cp test.dat /mnt/sdc1/$i.dat; done && time sync

        real 15m48.084s
        user 0m1.077s
        sys 1m25.330s

        real 0m0.900s
        user 0m0.000s
        sys 0m0.000s

        I used a USB3 card reader, not the card reader they gave away.

        For reading, I read 30G in 365.6 seconds, so 82Mbytes per second:

        • Seems complicated but your speeds are up to spec. I just used a micro sd card adapter and plugged it into the SD card slot in my laptop and used CrystalDiskMark to check, perhaps it's bottlenecked by my old laptop. Might consider getting a usb3 card reader then. Thanks for testing yours!

          @fuzzball:
          This is the reader I was using. I was surprised how fast it is, I wasn't expecting much for AU$4!
