  • has anyone had any problems with using multiple scoopons for a booking?

    I got a phone call regarding my booking for 8 people using 4 scoopons that they had a limit of 1 scoopon per table and also a number of scoopons per hour.

    It does not state this anywhere on the decsription/terms&conditions.

    He just cancelled all my bookings for this saturday because he wants more busines and won't accept vouchers.

    his name is Mod: Private number removed, my friend got it from the restaurant when they cancelled her booking and the restaurant refused to take responsibility.

    I havn't called yet but will do so after i finish this task at work,

    • Excellent work impoze! And please keep us posted on the outcome of your call. These guys need to be made accountable for screwing their customers over.

      I called the restaurant (with no intention of booking) and the first thing she asked me was "is this a Scoopon booking?". As soon as I said yes, they became fully booked until January next year! Then she also said that only 1 Scoopon per table was allowed, as they only allocate a few tables per night to Scoopon vouchers.

      I call on everyone to boycott the restaurant AND Scoopon, and even though I posted this bargain, I'll never post another Scoopn bargain until this is sorted out !!

      Let's all call Daniel and tell him what we think !!

  • What a crock of shit. Looks like scoopon has really gone downhill.
    I loved it when I bought the scoopon for FishMongers at Manly. Those boys know how to run a business, they were happy to accept the voucher without an issue at all and gave us a fantastic meal with huge servings.

    With all the horror stories of late though, I dont think ill be buying another scoopon.

    I would suggest also to go onto Eatability and leave a negative review for this restaurant if they are not honouring the coupon.

  • Pathetic restaurant, had a voucher going on a website but once you paid for the voucher they claim it was only valid for a weds lunch time.

    Really pathetic, rude & you can already tell a complete rip off!

    Save your dollars for some place where the food is better & they are more honest.

  • I took a look at their Eatability entry. It seems that it's only been going for less than 6 months; it used to be called something else. Of the 15 reviews, 12 glowing reviews were by one post wonders. Have to wonder about that.

    Also I have to be suspicious of a Scoopon rep who misspells the suburb name. I wonder if this was all done over the phone and some T&Cs left out.

    Both Scoopon and Minnow are in my bad books until otherwise proven.

      Although we can't give out details information on the way the deals work, all our deals are submitted in written format. Nothing is confirmed or completed via telephone conversations - to reassure you.

    the restaurant called me back apologising for the mix up.

    apparently the agreement with scoopon was for 1 scoopon per table but they didnt specify that on the site,

    he then accepted my booking for 8 ppl using 4 coupons for this saturday

    still not happy with the way scoopon handled the situation, its pretty much impossible to contact them..

      You should have told them to shove it. They're obvioulsy now getting bad feedback from forums like this, and are becoming concerned with their worsening reputation. I'd be wary of the food they serve you on Saturday! Good luck!

  • The fact that you guys wanted to argue about the scoopon and not accept at particular times in the first place is enough to make me never want to go to your restaurant. If you treat customers like that then good luck staying in business. Fine that the issue has been rectified now, but should never have been an issue in the first place.

    I cant believe all you tight arse people who are so negative about everything and complaining about a $49 deal. It was a great deal. You cant beat great food with the great price you bought the scoupon for. Grow up and stop picking on the restaurant. If your so tight go to a take away place to have a crap meal.

    Have respect for others. The business needs to make a living too you know.

    For all you other positive people out there, I would just like to say i have already used my scoupon and the food was amazing. I will definitely go back again. I even tipped them for the great experience i had.

    • Nice rant whoever you really are, but the issue was not about the quality of the restaurant, or whether the offer was worth $49 but the confusion with T&Cs of the offer. The consumer shouldn't have to get stuck inside a misunderstanding between the merchant and the group buy site about redemption conditions. They should get their story straight. Otherwise both the merchant and the group buy site lose credibility.
