Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti G1 Gaming 4G Video Card $199 ($208.75 Delivered) @ Shopping Express

90

For this price it's pushing the cheapest you can currently get a GTX 1050 ti for but it's a better card than a single fan Galax or an Inno3D or something of that ilk;

Notably higher clock speeds than most GTX 1050 ti's, really solid cooler design and RGB to boot. RGB!

Next cheapest I can find is $229 at Umart and MSY (without delivery).

For $200 better wait for 1060 3GB I reckon for a bit more.

    • Yeah this is pretty expensive for a 1050 Ti. Unless prices in general have gone up even more in the last few months.

  • Zotac 1050ti mini is much smaller and can fit in a tiny 5L mini itx case with the ac-dc power supply.

    • And it was $180-ish (Aus) delivered on Amazon for Black Friday too. Sold out in a damn hurry for that price though, I know I missed out.

Guess GTX1060 even 3GB version will be a lot better than 1050ti. Less than $100 more, worth to get it.

    • It's like $30 more lol

    • Iirc, a 1060 3GB is about 40% more powerful than a 1050 ti. So if you can afford it (and it's not more than 40% more expensive), definitely go for it. Buying a 1050 ti I know I'm going to be playing around with graphics settings that I wouldn't need to with a 1060. But this deal fits my budget and I need it now, so this is it for me.

  • Sorry about the n00b question, but does this card fit in a Dell SFF PC? Is this a low profile card or a regular one?

    • +2

You need this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/336843. Wait for a 20% off tech sellers sale and it'll be around $200.

      • Thanks. I can't believe I missed that deal. Hopefully there will be another one soon. Cheers

      • Can anything more powerful fit in those Dell sff's like a 1060 or 1070 or is the galax low profile 1050ti the best we can do with these prebuilts?

        • Don't think so. Also the PSU will struggle most likely/not have 6-pin power for GPU (generic PSUs).

        • @currentfad: ok cheers thanks.. damn I am aiming for a GTX 1060 6gb minimum but if the 1050ti galaxy is the most these cheap Dell sffs can handle then I might have to reconsider.

Btw 8 or 16gb RAM memory for this configuration?

          Will probably add in 1 x 512gb Samsung EVO SSD and 2 x x300 Toshiba 5tb hdd I saw for 2 x $170 AUD delivered from Amazon.

        • @AlienC: 8gb will do fine (so bloody expensive!!), and yeah a SSD will make it day and night.

        • @currentfad: do you know if the Dell's had enough space for a SSD and two HDD's?

        • @AlienC: I have an old optiplex sitting here and I think it supports 2 drives. Google the one you have and you'll get an answer :P

        • @currentfad: haha lol cheers thanks currentfad sorry I just thought you might know or have the answer ready off the top of your head haha lol.

To be honest I will probably be aiming for a much higher specced machine but it's always good to see my options.

Man those Dell pc's look like such great value but then you look at Ryzen 5 1600's and Intel i5-8400's paired up with 1070's and 1080's and just start drooling haha lol.

I think it is better for me to save up for the big guns but hey anything (for better or worse unfortunately) can happen. :p

        • @AlienC: Depends what you want to use it for. If you wanna play AAA titles at high res & high framerates then definitely save up, but if you're like me, mostly playing competitive titles in 1080p, those would be overkill :P

        • @currentfad: my next build will be trying everything from some competitive titles to seeing some newer non competitive stuff some online some not.

Will basically be exploring a bunch of new games so more cpu/gpu power definitely needed.

Won't just be a csgo/tf2/dota2/cod/moba/fps machine like my previous laptop.

Will be checking out a lot of new RPG and RTS titles with witcher 3 and ashes of the singularity being the most taxing one I can think of atm.

Also PUBG needs all the help it can get.

        • Not sure about length, but check out the Galax 1070 Katana, it's a single slot 1070. So pretty.

        • @chossenger: damn that does sound pretty and pretty awesome too.

    • This is not a low profile card.

  • been checking price for both 1050 Ti and 1060 3g for almost one year.

Lowest price for 1050 ti I can remeber is 167 from MSY before the crypto currency hype (not listed on ozbargain, just happened to see on msy website one day).

Lowest for 1060 is this one. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/340295

    RGB to boot. RGB!

    :|

  • get a 1060 3gb for $240 instead of this tbh

    • -1

Yeah but the Dell sff deals were like a decent 2500k around about ish cpu, 8gb ram, standard motherboard, stock psu and case for like under $300 AUD delivered roughly.

Even if I went with a g4560 and equivalent parts all bought individually second hand from ebay or new msy it would probably cost me more a lot more.

  • Good product tags OP. These are so important for finding past deals and comparisons.
