Lowest US price I might add. I personally use US to avoid exchange rates… however….

Combine with Cashrewards to get it for ~$1037.13 AU.

Edit: Just checked on Gearbest. $814.70 US which is $1,073.65 AU on current exchange rate or $1062.87 AU on Gearbest's AU rate.

  • Wait for a further discount. You might be paying import tax unless they mark down the value.

I'm waiting for it to fall under $1000AUD too, but this is a pretty significant discount - it was ~$890USD just a couple days ago.

Hoping the price falls even more soon, although it may not be until after Christmas at this rate

      • It's still new and you've had a $82 discount already. Won't be long before it drops below $1000. It's a brand that gets deals all the time.

        • xiaomi does not give much deal, this is their normal price in China. It is a deal though when considering the shipping and importing.

        • @simion1232006: I should rephrase. The brand is a brand that Gearbest, Banggood, LITB, Topbuy, et al like to discount often.

  • Would be nice if it was <$1000 AU so you don't risk GST

  • Is it possible to convert to English with the BIOS Windows Product Key if you reinstall the image?

    • You will need to install Windows 10 English version.

The Product key that comes with the Xiaomi Laptop is for single-language Chinese only, and cannot be used to activate other versions of Windows.

If you contact Microsoft support they may be sympathetic and give you another product key for Windows 10 English, however, they also might not.

TL DR: you will probably have to source a Windows 10 English product key if you want to reinstall windows!

Just an anecdote, might not work for you, but with my Xiaomi Air 13" as soon as I got it, I logged in with my microsoft account to make sure the key was registered, then clean installed W10 Home edition over it. It registered and is working dandy fine right now.

    are xiaomi laptops mighty incredible?

    • From a distance it looks like a MAcbook.

    • Certain brands need local support for people to buy :D

      • But not for xiaomi 😄

  • Usually I dispit all xiaomi high end product (phone, laptop) but since linustechtip gives really high screen for this one, I would try it out in store first before buy it.

Neever the less, the 8th gen intel is killing the game.

I concur strongly. Never had a good experience with Acer.

  • My EZBook 3S arrived tonight, DOA from LITB. Looking forward to the return….

    • morning mate, do you mind pm me your order number? i will see if i can help any

      • sent, thank you.

edit: received the return form and they're refunding me the cost + postage,

but how the heck do I ship to china?? recorded, insured??

        • You'll probably have to use dhl or fedex.

        • Just went to the post office at lunch and did their tracked service '8 days $65' (the 4-8 days was $75). LITB specifically told me after asking a couple of times that I should do the "cheapest option" and that insurance "isn't required". Hey-ho, bit strange but I've covered myself at least.

On a side note, the guy at PO asked me if there was a battery in it, which I said no. I explained I was just returning the laptop as-is. In any case I couldn't have taken the battery out anyway, it was delivered to me that way so I figures it was ok to return it that way as I didn't want void the warranty etc. Anyone else have this problem? Is it a problem?
