Title should say 5GB data per month

Darn, wish I could redeem end of January. I'm covered until then.

  • Who is the carrier?

  • When does it actually start when you redeem? Doesn't Vaya charge at start of the month? So if you redeem on the 30th you only get 2 months worth?

    • +3

start when you activate, not redeem.

yes. bills on the 1st day of the month.

      • +1

So does it mean you can buy it now and activate, let say, in two months time?

        • +1

          dunno. ask vaya.

        • @PissLUR:
I just spoke to Vaya about the previous groupon plan (1.5gb monthly plan) about porting my number later and they said you just register, they send you a sim and you activate when you're ready to. Also seems very difficult to stop the data service when it reaches the limit. They said you can call them to bar the service but then you need to call them again to unbar when the next month starts. Seems like a lot of work.

Wouldn't it be more flexible to buy the Vodafone $50 pack for $20 at Coles this week, and activate it on prepaid mobile broadband to get 30G of data to be used within 180 days? You don't then need to worry about vaya and what happens after 3 months, you can choose when to use the data and not be limited by the monthly limit, and there's no deadline for activation (you may only get 20G if you activate after Jan 18 though). Unless Optus works better than Vodafone in your area…

    • When does the coles deal start? Is it the "$50 Data Combo SIM Starter Pack"? This is a combo sim pack (35 day expiry, calls + 12GB) not the mobile broadband sim (180 day expiry, 20GB broaband only).

      • It's on now 12GB for 35 days….

Vodafone Prepaid $50 Data Combo SIM Starter Pack
        BETTER THAN 1/2 PRICE

        • 12GB data
        • Infinite standard national calls and TXT
        • 35 days expiry

        Limit 1 per customer.

        Was $50.00, Save $30.00
        $20.00 each
Offer valid Wed 8 Nov - Tue 14 Nov 2017

      • Started two days ago and finishes next Tue.

    • Can you do that? buy the Vodafone Prepaid $50 Data Combo SIM Starter Pack an activate as a prepaid mobile broadband?

      • +1

Pretty sure you can although I haven't done it recently. You can also activate it on the 365 day plan too. Essentially you can choose any plan with $50 credit.

        • thanks ill give it a go

I knew that it wouldn't go smoothly but $9 for 3 months thought it was worth a try. Went to Vaya signed up entered the voucher code and got this message "Sorry, this code has expired". Contacted Groupon and they said to contact Vaya - left a message with them and will wait for them to get back to me

Tried Vaya again today still haven't fixed it. I just now got of the online chat with Groupon and they have re-credited my Paypal account. They first said that they could not refund me due to their terms and conditions so I gave them a lesson in Australian consumer laws.

The then said they would give me a $9 credit which is only valid for 30 days - I told them to stick that where the sun don't shine and refund the money to my Paypal account (quoting consumers laws the ACCC and the Ombudsman). They then agreed to the refund and said it could take 7-10 days but I got an email from Paypal a few minutes later confirming the refund.

Has anyone had a good experience with Groupon for Vaya? Sounds like Vaya still has poor systems

    • +3

Not one person has a good opinion of Vaya.

      Not one.

      • Thought so. I'll continue my Vaya boycott after the $20 deposit scam
