    This so called 'Australian owned and operated business' has got all the red flags ticked in my book -

    1) website domain registration is hidden by proxy
    2) no abn number
    3) no business address or tel number in the 'Contact Us' page

    I got burned by visiondirect (http://www.visiondirect.com.au/) this year - ordered and paid for 2 boxes of lenses but never got them. Some lessons are learnt the hard way.

      I bought 2 pairs of sunglasses from VD and they were very helpful. The 2nd time I went through a month of backordering because they couldn't get hold of stock. I told them I wouldn't mind and I also wanted to change the colour and they actually did that. Really friendly. If you reply to their emails they should respond. They're based in Hong Kong btw.

      Whereas for contact lenses I'd recommend contactconnection. Again, really friendly and helpful. I had problems with some acuvue trueye lenses (not related to the recall) and the rep swapped it for me without any problems.

      Good luck with your purchases with Contactlensesaus if you're planning on getting some of those lenses… and share your thoughts.

        About VD,I've sent about 10 emails to them with no reply, and tried calling them numerous times - the number rings out. Even called the ACCC about them.

      We have chosen a personal page rather then a fan page so that clients are able to chat with us about any feedback or questions they may have - rather then just posting on a fan page wall. This indeed keeps it on a "personal" level where the client can have an instant response, rather then wait for an emailed reply.

      Any customer that purchases lenses from www.contactlensesaus.com is required to submit their full name and address so that we are able to mail out the lenses. So rest assured, we are not concerned with any 'personal details' you may have listed on facebook.

  My item arrived today although I am not impressed as it contained nothing but the contact lenses. You'd think such an item would include some sort of instructions or even a receipt? I am a little afraid to try them out

  I had to purchase a cleaning solution and a case from the supermarket and then look up instructions on their website. The product actually feels extremely uncomfortable when being worn so I don't think i'll use it. I also doubt I'd be able to get a refund, on the plus side postage was fast.
