      Still buy it and use it with the older Google Cardboard stuff (though the controller wont work).

        I spent a good few hours trying to get it properly working on my S7 (both stock & custom roms). Works fine until you actually start an app and then crashes :(

          What resolution are you running the S7 at? on the S8 you need to bump it up to the full resolution for it not to crash (it's a bug)

        You're only considering the worth of the materials that go into it. You have to consider the cost of designing & developing the hardware and software. E.g if a company spends a billion dollars developing something that costs $10 to build, the price is going to be way higher than $10 so the company can recoup investment costs.

        Pitty the controller is useless for iPhone. Watching videos and panoramic photos are great. Very comfortable head set compared to my mates Samsung gear I tried before.

      Although the S7 Edge is not "Daydream ready", it has the hardware to handle VR. You can install the Daydream APK to get the DayDream app. Not too sure how performance goes. Should be relatively fine given its similar specs to the Pixel.

      That one is much more basic. There is a new Xiaomi VR that looks awesome, similar styling to PSVR with internal sensors, but currently only supported in China

    These sucks. I get a pair when there is a sale. Can't believe these are made by google. There is always unexpected shaking when using. And the apps are boring. I also have gear VR which is amazing comparing to these. I even think gear vr is no worse than ps bvr which I also enjoy. Daydream,Simply sucks.

      This is technically compatible with the older Cardboard stuff - so you can use this as a Google Cardboard too that will work for all the other non-Daydream compatible phones (with the exception of the BT Controller).

      Turn off NFC on the phone and you can use it to play Cardboard games

      iPhone will work this way too since they ported Cardboard to iOS.
