  • I saw this cruise as a agent fare for $549/pp the other day, carnival are despirate to fill the boat. Not as good as the $250 last year.(also with carnival you have to prepay the gratuities works out around $16 -20) per person per day.

This cruise is not in school holidays so much cheaper.

I also think the one-way cruises to NZ are better value because you can spend a few extra days in NZ before / after the cruise.

      • Agreed i just had a look online and this cruise is coming up as sold out. With kids its often better to wait for kids cruise free promotions.

I've never once prepaid or had any gratuities on the Carnival. I think it only applies when leaving from a US port (which you can actually remove) . If it's leaving Australia there is no gratuities

      • Deception,

That is correct. You are not obligated to pay gratuities.

It's a ship not a boat. Also having worked for these guys in a contracting capacity the family and friends prices are way better (but they're not open to all). Typically you get a twin balcony for about 65/night on the longer duration cruises (8-12 nights).

    • Wrong. Carnival Australia do not charge gratuities.

  • Seems expensive to me

  • BUT WAIT.. THERE'S MORE!!!

    • +1

      Don't leave us hanging.

  • I am unable to guarantee prices until a booking has been confirmed

HUH? So you can't confirm how much it costs, until a customer commits to buy.

    • Hi PainToad.

Because cruise prices are constantly changing. What this disclaimer means is that the advertised cabins (and prices) may be purchased and therefore that particular deal will no longer be active. There are only a certain amount of cabins on a ship and therefore you sometimes need to be quick to reserve cabins at low prices. You can reserve a booking without paying anything. You know exactly how much the cruise will cost before you put down any money whatsoever.

    • I think the term is bait and switch, the cruise industry needs to reform often advertised prices are not what you pay when you book.

      • +1

No worse than airlines. The cheapest price is advertised, but depending on the size of the ship / plane there's only X amount available at the cheapest price.

he who hesitates is lost so often you need to get in quick, but sometimes you can end up paying more when no one else follows you :p.

  • +3

    Advert. No bargain.

  • Do these prices include Taxes, fees and port expenses? I'm looking at the carnival website which has identical prices, plus $408 in taxes and fees.

    • The advertised price would be the total and inclusive of these charges.

  • +2

    Best weight loss week

  • Interestly…. they dont disclose the actual taxes on these cruises….. its one lumb sum figure… unlike how the airlines detail the taxes

  • -1

cheaper to get gastro, influenza or any other highly contagious illness by hanging out in the local dr's medical center

    • -1

      Or daycare centre.

  • There was a sale on P&O for $285 Sydney to Auckland

hey, this is also just the normal price from Carnival, you arent providing any deal or extra value. Its the same price as all other sellers.

    • +1

But with a lot of added exclamation marks!!!

      • +1

like Big Kev said many years ago … I'm Excited.

  • Your advertised prices are not that great but quite common.

Three weeks ago I booked 10 night cruise in December on Carnival Legend. I paid $3550 (incl. all taxes, charges and credit card fees) for 4 passengers for a cabin with a Balcony plus got $400 spending money on board.

    • Can you pm me the info? do they have any kids spaces left?

      • I checked and the deal that I got 3 weeks ago is no longer available.
But I think they still have spaces for kids.
        It's for 6 December.
