    including the Grand Final?

    • Unlikely. Only Weeks 1-3 of the finals were discounted in previous years.

    • +2

Wouldn't worry you anyway would it? Your boys will be off on holidays as per usual and for the foreseeable future now Ed has resigned Bucks :D

      • Your boys will be off on holidays

Nope, we're playing Richmond this Saturday.

        • +1

Let's save that discussion for the VFL GF ticketing thread.

        • we're playing Richmond this Saturday.

lol, you'd think the VFL Pies with superstar $500K a year Chris Mayne would go a little better than 8th out of 14.

    • +1

Good luck actually getting a general admission ticket to the GF, once they're divided out to sponsors, corporate, clubs, players, members (in that order), your left in a race against scalpers to to hugely overpriced to sit in the nosebleeds.

      • -1

        Depends who is playing.

        • +1

Still doesn't mean they're available to general public.

        • -2

          @linton:

doesn't mean they're available to general public.

you can always buy a dining package that includes a ticket.

        • @jv:
Sure, but how is that classified as a bargain?
Have a cost breakdown/analysis on that one to justify it?

        • +2

          @linton:

Sure, but how is that classified as a bargain?

          I didn't say it was.

  • Selected games only and Grand Final doesn't seem selected.

  • guessing it is only the first weeks games on sale.

    • If the previous years' offers are anything to go buy, they'll release discounted tickets for every week of the finals excluding the Grand Final. Only Week 1 on sale at the moment.

  • +2

I cannot believe how good this deal is. Used it last year. Absolutely nuts.

    • +6

yeah too bad I purchased my tickets at 9:01am this morning. At least I got the seats/location I wanted! Good luck to your team

  • +1

My team didnt make it, bring on trade week!

  • Any idea what Adelaide Oval tickets cost? For the GA area (behind the northern end goals?)

I logged on, but can't see any mention of pricing?

    • For both Adelaide games they're currently selling Category 3 seats for $34. Not sure if other seat categories will be released later.

      • Only 1000 left for Adelaide and 12 thousand for Port.

None left for other 2 matches.

        • +4

          12 thousand for Port

          Hah!

(Getting negged. Sorry, poor attempt at humour. Best of luck to Port fans!)

        • +2

struggled to buy 3 tickets about 5 minutes ago and there was only 2 sections left available.

update: All tickets for both games @ Adelaide Oval seem to be sold out now, how did Port manage to sell 12'000 in 2 hours?

        • +2

          @toblerone21:
Probably the same way they sell memberships, there'll be a lot of pets attending.

        • @toblerone21:
Seems to be some tickets available right now for the Port game if you log in. Category 3 @ $34. All other games listed as "Sale closed".

  • Thanks OP - I'm not any member (MCC, RFC, AFL etc) - but Geelong Richmond - which is the ticket I should select from the AFL, Public and MCC reserve list for the best seat? Thanks!

    • +1

Selecting 'public reserve' seems to work. Currently only Category 5 seats at $29 available.

      • +1

Might be all gone now. About 30 mins after your message MCG tweeted that all public tickets are exhausted.
Unused club, afl and function seats will be released on September 5th 2pm. So maybe another chance then.

  • Are Telstra doing any discount tickets for the International Rules Series?

  • anyone getting any decent seats for the SCG next weekend? needing to find a mate who has Telstra if so. thanks for posting @OP

    • Only Category 3 seats in Bay 43 available at the moment. $30 each. I'd jump on them quickly if I was you because according to the AFL there were only 1,750 tickets left for the general public at the beginning of the day. Likely to sell out soon!

      https://twitter.com/AFL_PKeane/status/902437039060041729

    • I got near the O'riley stand, went back to check tickets for mates around 5ish and only single tickets available.

Edit: Just checked with my telstra account, tickets are $30 in bay 43 which is near-ish to the middle of the ground

  • What's it mean by Seating Type: Family of 3 (2 Ad & 1 Ch)? Does that mean 3 seats?

    • Yeah, 2 for adults 1 for a child

    • Yes. thats the tickets i booked. 2 adults and a child

    • Does it matter if I bring along a man-sized child? And I assume it's $30 per seat not $30 for 3 seats?

      • Just get them to act disabled. (Don't tell anyone on the internet though)

    • +1

The seating type family (2A & 1ch) is when purchasing general tickets which i believed are sold out. The tesltra tickets are sold individually for $30 each regardless of child or adult bay 43

    • Im still confused, If I buy one of this type, im assuming its one seat and not 3?

  • I bought three tix for Crows vs GWS in ADL next Thursday. Any way to retrospectively half the $180 cost?

    • Sell them then buy new ones.

  • +2

Great deal - well done Telstra and the AFL.

  • +1

    Nice deal OP +1

  • +2

Most tickets would already be sold out, wouldnt they?

    • No…

      • +1

Yes jv, please tell me where are Collingwood finishing up this year?

        • -1

          Ask me after Saturday.

        • +1

          @jv:

          Ask me after Saturday.

How'd those VFL Magpies go today??

  • +2

Can I get tickets to see the Tigers go out in straight sets?

    • -1

I hope that can get it done this year and beat Geelong, anyone but geelong.

  • +1

    Nice one OP

  • +1

It's neat they give them a point for trying.

  • +1

Anyone wanting a chance to go to the grand final on the cheap next year - GWS membership.

Think allocation of tickets to low member numbers interstate and high probability of them being there or thereabouts.

  • +1

I have 4 tickets for the match in MCG on Friday, I got it from one of my friend who is working for an umpire association. When he asked me for tickets i thought he was asking for the grand finals., I am not planning to go for this match., Please let me know of anyone is interested. its $25 per ticket, tickets are for ground floor under cover.

    • I'd be happy to take two! Let me know :)

    • I will take the other 2 or all 4 if still available. Can pickup.

    • ranjankmv you dont have accept message turned on in your profile. Can you do so and I will contact you or you can send me a message so I can call you to arrange if they are available Cheers.

      • Not sure where to select this option, can you please let me know.

Update - Got it., i have enabled it now

    • Thanks @Gnarlyrocks and @judge25. I would prefer to give all 4 tickets to one person as i think all 4 tickets are present in one pdf file. I have asked for the ticket to be sent to me by email. i will let you know once i have more details.

      • Great ranjankmv. I am very keen after misssing out online yesterday and today and I am a club and afl member go figure! I tried to message you but I only signed up to reply to you and I am throttled for new messages for one day as a new user! Hopefully you can send me one and I can then call you or email etc…just in case my email is judge25 at outlook dot com dot au Cheers

        • I am meeting the guy tomorrow and i will let you know the details after that., I stay in Bendigo so i dont think you can pick up the tickets personally., i can send it via email. I will let you know after i have more details., thanks

        • @ranjankmv:

No worries. I'm on Holiday and family is from Bendigo (nice drive for me) so could pick up, but we will work it out.what ever is easiest. My fingers are crossed Thanks!

  • Darn, saw this too late. If anybody is selling 2 tickets to the Adelaide v GWS Game, please PM me. I need to be seated & not the nosebleed section, eg. the top half of the Stands.

Did you guys get an email about this when they went on Sale? Just wondering how it works, assuming Telstra Home Phone Customers & Pre-paid Mobile customers are eligible? I can't find any details about that. Thanks

  • +3

tickets are on sale for Week 2 finals get in quick

  • My Telstra account wouldn't authenticate so think I've missed out on tickets for RFC v GWS, can someone kindly let me know if any are still available or become available if you can't go to the game? Thanks.

    • I got this 'Not eligible' message despite having bought tickets the last 2 weeks:

Sorry, we couldn’t identify you as an eligible Telstra Customer. You must have an active Telstra service to access offers in the Telstra Thanks® program. If you have an active service please check that it is linked to your Telstra My Account log-in.

After frantic clicking, it finally linked through to Ticketek at 2.03PM AEST.

The page you're looking for doesn't exist.
The event is either over, or is no longer on sale.

I don't think anyone would have got any tickets. The Adelaide match changed from 'Coming soon' to 'Sale closed' before 2.00PM AEST. :(

      • Super unfortunate as I was looking forward to this game.

Can't complain as I got a bargain last week and got to see the Tiges into their first prelim since I was learning my times tables.

Hopefully Telstra fix for next year and Richmond will be defending their flag ;)

      • I got the same error as you guys (even though I have used Telstra thanks before). I gave up and went straight through ticketek - couldn't afford to waste time because I didn't want to miss out.
So unfortunately no bargain for me :(

Someone should write/ring up Telstra about the eligibility issue and see what they do about it. I wonder if they'd reimburse half my tickets haha

        • Sent a query to Telstra, got a reply telling me how to purchase tickets after 8PM (gee, thanks!), went on the live chat, spoke to 3 different people after escalations, now waiting of a further response tomorrow. Absolutely zero answers so far.

I assume Telstra's ticket allocation was very small and there may have been 1000s of us trying to do the same thing, but that doesn't explain why the Adelaide match tickets never went on sale.
