Not technically true, you just need someone who has a Telstra account to share the code/password. Same goes for NRL finals, but that's only 20% off.

    • +1

And to have an account you need to be a Telstra customer

  • +5

Tickets are available for all games,

    Including Grand Final?

    :p

    • Ha!

  • How does one access the tickets? I am assuming via the above link?

    • +10

How does one access the tickets?

      Thou needeth thy Telstra account.

      • +8

If oneth hasent thy telstrath accountath, are thou emailed a codeth?

        • +7

          noeth.

        • Nah, you have to login > Telstra Thanks > Sports > NRL/AFL and then they show it. I assume some kind soul will post it on here (after securing their own tickets of course). I used it for a round 24 NRL fixture, got very good seats in s. 527 at Suncorp Stadium (admittedly there is hardly a bad seat in the place) all for $26 + BF.

        • it doesn't have anything yet, jsust says to come back august 31st at the moment

Tickets are available for all games

    LOL…

joke post… belongs in the forums…

    • haha

Just a note that all the members pre-sales start tomorrow, so it's whatever is left :)

    • Yep, bloody useless for member pre-sales so as you said will only be good for the scraps left over, if there are any!
WCE V WB will be a sell out anyway!

  • If there is a final in Melbourne involving any combination of West Coast, GWS and Sydney they have to give away free tickets! Particularly for GWS, the AFL will be desperate for their franchise team to be seen as a massive success given the huge $$$ invested and a 1/2 empty MCG during finals would be a slap in the face.

This is why the retards running the NRL & AFL need to get with the times and move the GF should there be a completely out-of-state finals combo, such as last year's NRL final between the NQ Cowboys & Brisbane Broncos.

      • +7

The AFL grand final will always be a sell out, no question. So many corporates and so few seats available to fans. It's the other matches in the finals series which may be an issue (say we saw Bulldogs vs GWS at the G, that might only be half filled).

        • Do you think Syd v GWS at ANZ Stadium will be a sellout? The AFL will definitely hope so but I'm not so sure…

        • +1

          @sween64:

Not even close. I expect a crowd of high 40s to low 50s

        • @sween64: nah I don't think so. The SCG's capacity (~50k) is about perfect and Stadium Australia is too big (~80k) but it's contractual issues keeping it there. Still, this kind of match is how rivalries start, and future derbies will be bigger. I actually think that long term GWS will be a success for the AFL.

AFL in Queensland, on the other hand…

        • Agree, corporates and MCC/AFL members. I think GWS has about 15K members. if you take out the probable dodgy subsidized memberships, people that bough 3 memberships to help the club etc I wonder how many passionate travelling fans they would have. Problem will be the cutthroat prelim final somewhere that deserves a full house but will probably have empty seats. Most of the passionate fans of the Big Melbourne based teams, the maniacs that will do whatever it takes to see their team play in a final will be at home posting trade rumours on bigfooty! I cant wait for the Grand Final parade, Dan Andrews has given us all a Public Holiday, I am praying for a Sydney vs GWS Grand Final so that I can have a laugh when the crowd for the GF Parade is 100m long and the CBD is a Ghost Town on a weekday!

      • +3

AFL players know and prize the experience of playing the ultimate game on the hallowed MCG turf. It's the spiritual home of the best football game on the planet. The GF should, and will, never be moved from the G. NRL on the other hand has no soul so it should sell the GF to the highest bidder.

  • Note its usually for category 5 only at MCG games.

  • +2

I will be very surprised if they have any tickets for the Crows game at Adelaide Oval knowing that this will sell out regardless.

    • +1

Ditto for the WCE v WB final at Subiaco. Members get access 24hrs earlier.

      • +1

They had them last year at subi. Cheap seats in the 3 tier stand only though.

        • Yes I agree, probably only worth the risk for the MCG game, other games there is a strong chance that it will sell out before then.

Best bet would be to buy tickets sooner rather than later if you really want to go to the match.

        • +1

@treeman: Swans v Giants will have plenty available even after the members pre-sale

        • @carkell:

Actually that's true, forgot it was being played at ANZ stadium.

    what about NRL final?

  • I've logged in however cannot see anything as of yet. I would imagine it will appear once the date comes around. Anybody have any experience with this?

    Cheers

Offer available from 12noon (AEST) Wednesday 31 August, 2016.

  • Has anyone seen the pricing schedule for general admission to the cats hawks game?

    • +4
      Category 1 $89
      Category 2 $79
      Category 3 $73
      Category 4 $65
      Category 5 $56
      Category 6 $48
      Category 7 $35
      Restricted View $35
      Standing Room $35

      from http://www.geelongcats.com.au/ticketing

      • Right, so same prices for both members and public then I guess?

        • +1

Correct. However for this game it will likely only be for category 5. Still makes it cheaper than the cheapest seat.

  • I think there are no tickets left for the Adelaide v NM game?

  • The Telstra tickets for the Swans v GWS game are Category 2 tickets. Usual price $73, now $36.50

Edit: Just seen some Category 3 tickets. usual price $58, now $29

    • Have been in these before, pretty far back, but fine. Was $20 during a normal season game last year, and could easily get to some slightly better seats.

Logged on to the normal site after getting these, they are only selling category 2 tickets (which these are in) from $22??? $22 = junior 4-14, $73 for Adult, ouch!

  • Just got some in Category 6 for the Geelong v Hawthorn game ($48 reduced to $24) - managed to get 4 in a block, but now the maximum you can get is 2!

Had to be quick, website was getting hammered from 12pm.

  • Looks like Adelaide is sold out. Can't even get 1 ticket..

Scratch that, after the first 10 mins they were avail again

  • +1

Thanks OP, managed to snag 4 for the Adelaide game. Frothing.

  • Snagged 4 to West Coast :) cheers OP

  • +1

Scored 2 tickets in 2nd tier for WCE v WB. $33.50 each! Thanks OP!

  • Got 3 for West Coast very excited! I couldn't get regular season tickets when I tried a few weeks ago

  • Marked as expired - not actually expired? There are still (limited) tickets for:

Geelong Cats vs Hawthorn (Friday 9 September 2016)

Sydney Swans vs GWS GIANTS (Saturday 10 September 2016)

    • Cheers, fixed it.

  • Shouldn't be marked as expired, week 2 and 3 are still going on sale.

  • Is anyone getting the message "There are no tickets available that match the entitlements of this password or group code."? I can't seem to buy tickets to Friday night's match…

    • UPDATE:All good was able to purchase tickets. Only 4 at a time

  • Just bought 2 tix to the Doggies vs Hawks game! Go Doggies!!!
Confirming Category 5 only. $28 per ticket + outrageous $6.85 Ticketek fee for emailing me my tickets.

  • Could not get any tickets for Swans v Crows at 3pm on the dot :(

    • +1

There's some tickets available now under Telstra Thanks. Bays 2, 16, 25, 43 and 47.

  • Seems like Telstra sold out on their Cats v Swans game? Couldn't even put 1 ticket in basket. Give us some CAT7 tickets.
