    Purchased thank you OP

Eh, why buy from the price jackers when you can save $2 and get it from sincerity trading?

    • +6

Because that's HK stock, some people might want it sooner than later

      • +1

        Correct. You'll get it sooner.

But I'm willing to wager that these are also HK stock, just pre-imported.

Still worth paying $2 more if you need it now though, and that's what I would do personally. Except 64GB is the 32GB of 10 years ago. It's not enough anymore.

    • I don't understand why this deal got so many upvotes, and Fiximol's comment didn't… It's $1.53 cheaper at sincerity trading's AU ebay store, and its likely the same HK stock, similar level of store unreliability and same ETA… what am I missing?? Why are savvy ozbargainers upvoting a more expensive deal. Maybe they are mistaking Shopping Square with Shopping Express??

Link to cheaper card here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SAMSUNG-64GB-MICRO-SDXC-EVO-PLUS-…

      • The one you linked says 'U1' not 'U3' which implies it's a lot faster. Also the description for this implies it's a 2017 model.

        • Right you are! That would be the reason, thanks for pointing it out, I didn't look at it close enough :)

  • +3

    Xiaomi. Powerbank 2. Fiasco.

    • can you expand further on this? I bought a xiaomi powerbank 2 from them around 2 months ago when they had that $1-$2 shipping deal but it never came. Had to submit a missing in transit case with them, replacement is on the way …….. hopefully

      • +1

Something they didn't deliver and people had to chase it up with paypal. I'm willing to bet it had something to do with batteries now being difficult to clear customs. I don't expect the same thing to happen with these though, because one, they're not batteries, and two, they're already in Sydney so you should get them quick.

      • I had the same thing happen…

        • did you contact them for a refund or replacement? Maybe I should have got the refund instead seeing as batteries may not clear customs :(

        • @bayc0n: Went for a replacement as I actually want the item, according to the tracking it's in NSW currently

Having dealt with shopping square probably fakes anyway. Buyer beware.

    • +1

Has anyone else had issues with fake microsd cards from Shopping Square?

How about the likes of Futu, pc byte etc?

      • +1

Have bought multiple of the Evo+ cards (64GB variant), two from SS and one from PCByte, and all check out as genuine. Haven't heard of anyone receiving a fake card from futu, pcb, SS other than slightly different packaging (but tested as genuine).

      • +1

If they are 100Mb transfer rate, then they're not fakes.

They also sell the "fake" slower ones @ 48Mb.

You can tell by the price and you get what you pay for.

  • +1

Do these include the microsd -> sd adapter?

    • need to know this too. from memory all evo's do but i could be wrong

    • +4

I’ve previously purchased one and the adapter is included.
Be warned, it may not work as U3 in a camera with the adapter. Mine didn’t in a A7R2

      • Thanks for that. It is for a camera, I'm going to stick to a full sized SD. Ta :)

        • yes, I stick with full size for my camera, SD are also less fragile to handle

  • +4

    Perfect for the switch.

  • +2

Thanks, grabbed one for my action camera.

  • +2

Beware that if the card is played up then good luck with warranty from Samsung Austtalia. I had called and emailed them 3 times in 3 weeks and no reply at all. Also from reading reviews, there are quite a few customers who also have bad experiences too.

    • It's $33 bucks what do you expect?
You are better off working extra hour or two
rather than calling up/sending back/ visiting stores
      wasting energy and time.

  • Would this be suitable / appropriate for a phone?

    • +1

      Why wouldn't they?

      • underkill ? overkill ? i dont know - thus the question

        • +3

Depends what you do on your phone.

But for this price, you won't save that much by going with a slower card, so may as well.

You may not need it. But it's a good price. So you may simply want it instead. And that's reason enough.

        • @lostn:

          Thank u!

    • +2

yes, great for a phone, and it's fast write speed U3 …..

    • +3

      Yes.

Your phone will write to it at 18MB/s or slower. Usually slower.

      • LOL you are right. I wonder which smartphones have been tested to write faster than 20MB/s? None?

        • I'm sure there are a few these days. The S8 for example will write to a suitably fast Micro SD card at ~42-43 MB/s.

That's from Internal Memory > SD Card though. When copying to the phone from an external source though things top out at ~30 MB/s, which means that even in 2017 the (profanity) USB interface itself is still a bottleneck :(

    • Valid question. About two years ago when I was researching microSD cards to put in my Windows tablet, I remember that benchmarks showed random read/write (which you'll get more of in a phone/tablet) was a bit worse on cards that had high advertised [sequential] transfer rates. I ended up buying a standard Evo for that application.

  • am getting a 'This code can't be applied to your order.' error while applying PLAYER code. anyone know why?

    • So am i. i am trying to apply it to the "Add Vouchers" section on the checkout page like i always do and it doesnt work. This has happened with the last couple of ebay codes i have tried using. Anyone have any ideas? This code is applied on the ebay page and not the paypal page right?

in the T&C's it says something about needing to have a paypal account

    • +1

I was having the same problem, even though I have a PayPal account. Turns out my PayPal account was still linked to an address in the US (where I set it up years ago). Changed that, then the eBay voucher worked fine.

      • Yeah my eBay account had a UK address attached to it. Thanks for your help!

      • no luck :( checked both paypal and ebay addresses. thanks for the suggestion though.

  • I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 through this site.

It has a Micro-SD slot and I'm thinking of using a card as permanent extended storage (the laptop only has a 125GB SSD drive).

Would this card be overkill for this - too fast, too slow? Or would you recommend a card with more capacity?

I'm assuming that there wouldn't be a problem with long-term reliability with the Samsung EVO?

    • Only you know how much you need.

Did you have a computer of any sort before the Inspiron? If so, then you should know your own usage and how much is enough for you.

For me it's not enough, but for someone else it might be more than they need.

      There's no single answer.

    • +1

You cannot perform simultaneous operations on the card unlike an SSD or HDD and it's much much slower, 18MB/s or less. Usually less.

So it's OK for storing things like media or small installations but not much else.

      • Depends on the quality of his card reader.

Mine can do 100MB/s speeds easily.

    • Have the 128GB for mine. Full of FLAC music files. Also used in my XDUOO X3 portable player.

Also external HDDs up to 4TB. Movies, music, etc.

    • Thanks guys.

It would cost me $80 for a 128GB micro-SD card, which would be a more useful size.

Or I could simply replace my 128GB SSD with a 250GB for $130.

I think that's the obvious way to go!

      • I would go for 500GB if possible.

You're paying $130 for only an extra 122GB, since you have to give up 128GB to make room for it.

  • Watch out for these guys.
I bought an SD card from them in June, and it never arrived.
Filed a dispute and they asked me to close it and deal with them directly, then didn't respond after I refused.

    • so,did you get your money back?

      • +1

        Yeah, via the ebay dispute.
I asked ebay to step in, and instantly got refunded because these guys didn't provide a valid tracking number.

Hi there, looking for a 200/256 GB memory card for my new Samsung s8+

  • Hi there, looking for a 200/256 GB memory card for my new Samsung s8+, any suggestions if I should buy Samsung which comes in 256 GB size or should I go for Sandisk 200 GB

  • +1

In case anyone is still checking in here, has your order been sent yet? Mine hasn't.

    • +1

Hey, has yours been sent yet? I still have not received mine.

      • No, still hasn't been sent.

        • Finally got a dispatch notification a few minutes ago.

        • @cainn:

yep me too, about 1/2 hour after I put in the ebay dispute.

        • Have you got it? They told me they have put it on Auspost but I still have not received the item.

        • @FFx0:

No, it hasn't arrived. Wasn't in today's mail either. So I doubt they're being honest about when they sent it, or at least where they sent it from.

        • +1

Scrap that. It did arrive today. Mail was later than usual.

As annoyed as I may be about the long delay I can at least confirm that the card I received was as described, and genuine. Here are some test results (using a Samsung SD adapter** in a USB 3.0 card reader connected to a USB 3.1 Gen 2 USB port), with some Samsung PRO results thrown in for comparison: http://imgur.com/a/93bps

I also successfully copied 60+ GB of data to the card and observed 60MB/s+ average transfer speeds for the duration. Data integrity is fine.

          **which was not included

        • @cainn:

Got mine yesterday too (15/8), is the packaging on yours confusing? My packaging says "Class C10 U3" in one spot, but also says "UHS-1" in two other places. The card itself has the "U3" logo. Almost all the writing on the packaging appears to be Japanese. Just above the barcode, it says "Model: MB-MC64G Model code: MB-MC64G/CN" in English. Is yours the same?

I can't test mine, I don't have a card reader/writer that is fast enough. All of mine are USB2 only.

        • +2

          @Russ:

UHS-1 (and UHS-II and UHS-III) is a designation that refers to the "bus speed" or the "bus interface" and doesn't necessarily say anything meaningful about the speed of the flash memory itself.

The "Class 10" designation is something I'm guessing you're familiar with, and the "U3" rating is an extension of the same speed class system. Specifically a "U3" rating ensures a "minimum" sustained write speed of 30MB/s, which also obviously meets (and indeed exceeds) the Class 10 rating, which is why it is also included.

It's a confusing mess I know, but hopefully I've done something to make it a little more clear.

As for the model number and packaging mine is the same. It's basically a grey import, which is common with sellers like this. But I wouldn't worry about that as there is nothing inherently inferior about products that are intended for different markets. Fakes are what you need to look out for, and it seems to me (based on my tests above) that Shopping Square (or APUS CORP) is supplying genuine items.

        • @cainn:
Thanks, it's clearer now. I thought U1 and UHS-I were the same thing, now I know they aren't. If only they had chosen a different letter for speed class, instead of "U", it wouldn't have been nearly as confusing.

        • @cainn, @Russ

Thanks for the updates. I still haven't got mine for some reason. At least I know not to buy from them again.

        • @FFx0:

Nope, i've received a refund from eBay, as no tracking was ever provided by Ssquare.

No idea if it'll turn up, but I doubt it. They obviously lied about sending it in the first place.

    • +1

My order still hasn't been sent either

      • +1

        My order also too.

        • Hmm mine also.

How long before we can open a dispute with ebay/paypal? Does the expected delivery date have to expire?

EDIT: I've messaged them and asked for a refund. cbf waiting around for this (my expected delivey date was 4th-6th August.

  • I just received a refund from ebay, as no tracking information was ever provided.
