He was also kind enough to post some photos of the watch here.

I like the chrome finish better, as it's a homage to the Citizen Eco-Drive AW1360 ~AU$120.02 shipped

    Awesome. Thanks

  • "Homage"

    • +12

The word "homage" is used on watch forum websites to describe a watch that looks pretty much exactly like a more expensive model.
A copy is used to describe a watch that even has the same name (fake)

      • hahaha

      • +18

I know a genuine Panaphonics when I see it.

        • +4
        • I think the word "homage" is hard to apply here because this watch is copying a Citizen that no one wants.

I like to think of myself as a watch enthusiast but that Citizen isnt really popular enough to copy… unless you're Chinese.

Ironically this Naviforce uses a Citizen Miyota movt.!

        • +6

@tonyjzx: But the Citizen AW1360 got 107 votes in this old deal post, and 55 votes here, so I think some people like it.

And look, there's Magnetbox and Sorny.

          @altomic:

Gotta love the new Sorny PlaySystem 4 Plus.

      • hey, I'm not knocking it.

    Thanks op. Got one.

    Water Resistance Depth: 30m

    means not WR at all…

    • +1

no.. one of the pictures in the link says "3ATM water resistance, stay in hand-washing and raining"

Imagine having a watch that you had to take off when it rained…

      • Don't need to, I had a 1ATM Chinese watch…

    1. Of all the cheap CCP watches i've bought so far, this Naviforce is the highest quality by a long shot. This seems consistent with the experience of a few folk on watchuseek.
    2. Naviforce appear to use a decent movement, and the case quality is very good. Hell, i even like the crown.
    3. None of these cheap CCP watches are waterproof, though i'd say this is more water resistant than most, especially given the screw back.
    4. This is close to as cheap as it gets i'd say.
    5. If you're thinking of buying the citizen, this could function as a test drive of the style before burning real money.
    6. I'm kind, and every time i read 'homage' i think 'fromage'.

Thanks @WatchNerd for sticking this together.

    • How is ticking noise from movement? Is it any better than Timex watch? The control button seems to stick out too much.

      • +3

I can hear it tick when up against my ear, and maybe just at 15cm away, but no way at 30cm. Not much background noise where i am (he says as a plane happens to fly over).

Control button? You mean the crown? Yeah it sticks out, but it looks solid. It sure looks like some kind of metal and i can't cut into it (the watchuseek review mentioned possibility of plastic, but i don't think so).

I'm astounded they can stick these together, sell and ship them for just over $10.

BTW no idea cf Timex - the only super duper watches i have are Eco-drives.

        • +1

Yeah I mean the crown. Timex watch is quite noisy. I can hear ticking noise 50cm away in office even when people are talking & typing. It's annoying for me at night.

        • @kctt: Timex is a watch company. They make many watches. Which watch do you have? Or are you asserting that all Timex's are made too noisy? If so that would be very interesting.

    • how about the Megir M2011 ?

      • +1

        In terms of quality?

Firstly let me just qualify everything i say by conceding i'm still a mug punter when it comes to watches, though everyone acknowledges i've got a big brain.

The Megir is pretty good - it's more minimalist i guess and some go for that, and it does have chronograph function. I just think the case looks cheap and my crappy photos reflect that i think. It's more complicated given the chronograph and therefore more things to go wrong. I expect it to break sooner or later, but i expect this Naviforce to keep going until its tiny battery hits the wall.

Haven't gone the whole hog and opened the back of either yet - haven't actually ordered the right tools to do all that but i will be.

        Hope that helps.

BTW there's plenty of other Naviforce out there and given the prices you could get any of them. For example Gearbest and BangGood, though i'll be waiting for them to discount them in turn. The reviews on BangGood seem genuine…

    • I doubt the caseback screws down, most likely it snaps in place.

      • You may well be right as I simply assumed that based on the indentations. Once I've got the right gear I'll report back…

  • +2

Good to see you living up to your name.

  • Ooh, I've been looking for a cheap but half way decent watch to wear when I hit the piss, to avoid scratching or damaging my daily wearer. Perfect!

  • 45mm case diameter, damn daniel!

  • black on black is sold out..

  • Bought the silver one the other week. Quite like it so far. The tick is quite audible though. At night can hear it across the room, not a problem though. Band that comes with it is pretty respectable but plan on getting a different style at some point in the future.

    • Yeah? Mine's only got a tiny tick.

      Expired? That was short-lived…

Still 8 in stock at Gearbest for $12.27 shipped.

    • +1

Cheers mate - literally went to buy now and it kept setting my price back up to $22, glad some are still up

      • Gearbest - Out Of Stock Now.

  • How does this compare to a Rolex?

    • +7

Their advertising budget is a lot lower.

  • ordered mine, now it says its on back order, black on tan

    • Same. Black on tan too.

      • smh - not really good service if I can buy it and post sale they say its on backorder.
It takes forever for them to delivery something anyway, now its going to take forever.

  • Still haven't got my mi band 2 from 4th July post, should I be concerned.

    • No, usually 4-7 weeks.

    @WatchNerd:

Yep, that works for me, but not on every watch.

      Wow

      @WatchNerd

    • Great find, edited the deal. Thanks.

  • Code isn't working.,,

      Still works for me…

This watch brand is such bad quality they couldn't afford someone to retype the caption on the first photo..
"The perfect combination of fashion and sprot"
They also have missed a space after a comma on the last photo with a black background. Wow these guys are dodge

    • Haha, welcome to Internet shopping from China. It's to be expected that they get some English words wrong.
The watch however is considered pretty good for the price amongst people who know their China Cheapos.

    • They also have missed a space after a comma…

That on its own clearly warrants the death penalty.

The watch itself is fine - these posts benefit from stress testing by the OB cheap watch posse.

  • Does anyone know how to adjust the date lol…

    • +3

Crown has 3 positions - closed, 1 click out, 2 clicks out.
I'm sure there's a better technical description, but you get my drift.

Transition to 1 click out, and rotate crown anti-clockwise while reciting the Lord's prayer.

      • Thanks champ!

        • I am pleasured.

  • Is this deal still on? It comes to $15.79 for me.
    Thanks

  • Just got an email from banggood yesterday. Customs blocked the delivery of the watch :(

    • That's harsh bro. I came here to order this watch but stopped after reading your post. Please keep us updated

      • +1

Well, I contacted banggood and they refunded me the money. I'm super sad that it didn't come through though. It was supposed to be my first Ozbargain watch :(

        • That's weird, why would customs block a $10.00 watch?

        • @WatchNerd: That's what I've been thinking! Thought that AU really cracks down on "homages" maybe?

        • @Gaeb: Haha it's not a counterfeit.

  • I love the look of the watch but mine has been really unreliable. It will just stop randomly all the time and almost always won't be the correct time.

    • Sorry to hear, maybe send Bangood a message. Let them know you are an Ozbargainer.
