  • Is this the one to get for the Vodafone network?

    • +1

It will work for all our networks just fine.

  • +2

OMG, when I have bought with eBay 15% discount from dwi, it was $504, QD was like $530 something, now price drop, even from QD :-(

    • Told you so lol… It will continue to drop and in a few months they'll have to pay you to sell you the phone.

    • Me too ($504), CTAX20 did not work last week.

  • -1

    Link is not working

  • Does this one come with a boot loop feature?

    • -1

      Unfortunately, No.

    • No and you should time travel back from 2015.

      • -5

you guys have no sense of humour…

or never owned a g4 that has bootlooped!

        • +11

Our sense of humour ran out due to the same group of ppl mentioning bootloop every 5 sec

        • -2

          @MadMaxBargainRoad:

And people should be reminded for the rest of eternity how bad LG products are and how bad there customer service is as well.

At least then your an informed shopper!

    • -3

I wish you get so many NEGS that they haunt you in your after life.

    • -1

      lol

  • How's the g6 so cheap!???? Isn't the G6 basically like 2 months old and supposedly RRP $1000 flagship!??

    • +7

      Because LG flops and loops.

      • I love my LG washing machine, poops over the other one we have which is a Samsung.

        Is it waterproof?

    • I think they got edged out by Samsung/Qualcomm which forced them to go with Snapdragon 821 instead of 835. This along with the half step back on display & camera quality really hurt them.

A few years back these small drawbacks can be overlooked. However, 2017 is a brutal battle ground for mobile manufactures.

      • +2

The G6 camera is actually fantastic. The wide angle lens on the second camera is incredibly useful.

        • +2

It's fantastic if you don't compare it to Pixel (Nexus 5x & 6p), Samsung, Apple and the HTC u11.

        • They cut cost on the sensor. The G5 actually has a better sensor, despite a generation older.

      • I just wish next year, LG can release the G7 with the latest chipset, instead of having to use last gen ones.

      • +2

821 over 835 makes negligible difference, you'd never notice it - not only that, but the G6 is half the price of an S8 or most major brand phones with an 835. So its a dumb comparison for people to make.

        • +4

Zeral asked why its price dropped this fast and the SoC is one big factor. No one here complained about its value.

Also an fyi, 835 is noticeable faster than 821 in app launching and multitasking. Go have a hands-on with HTC U Ultra and U11.

poor marketing is what i think, last weekend i went to Telstra store for a random visit, i noticed samsung devices are given special importance in showcasing, where as LG g 6 was kept along with mid range devices. it took 2 mins to figure out where g6 was sitting, poorly marketed by LG.

      • +2

Honestly I think all companies have shit marketing compared to Samsung… (and possibly Apple)

    • +2

Great phone, but not their flagship for 2017.

      V30 would be it.

  • +1

    Is this Duel Sim?

    • +36

yes the sims duel each other for reception

    • +1

but you can't use micro sd card, if you are using both sims in slot,

    • Dual?

  • +8

No idea about the phone, but just wanted to provide a positive comment about the seller. Have had a good experience dealing with them.

    • On a warranty situation ?

    • +4

I have a positive experience with QD warranty and I have bought from them many times.

If the repairs take time it is because it is repaired overseas. I'm happy to pay the lower price and have warranty taken care of although it might take some time.

  • Damn I didn't get the coupon

    • +3

Don't worry, it will be 15% off soon.

  • Awesome price for this phone. I've picked up the V20 since I love having a removable battery, but if not for that, I'd be all over this deal.

    • +1

I went for the v20 as well - better camera, removable battery, dual SIMM plus SD card, milspec tough and I.R. blaster, against incrementally faster processor, better chance of Android O and the ability to fish it out of the toilet.

      • Why a better chance of Android O?

        • Four months newer, and - well - LG …

      • Better camera?

        • 16 Mp as opposed to 13 Mp main with the same F1.8 lens. The wide angle one is as good as the back of a spoon for finding out what you should look like tho.

      • +1

I think another plus is the ability to replace SIM/SD cards without needing a stupid pin. The back cover comes off rather elegantly and allows these changes easily.

  • +1

I have a LG4 and a Boot Loop issue. On the forums I saw many customers of QualityDeals left high and fry when their G4 went into boot loop.
LG would not recognize ( QualityDeals ) warranty ( Seller warranty ), phones took month to return or where not repaired at all.
I was glad to have bought mine from MobileCiti ( needed to be repaired twice, and both time, return time was around 2-3 working days.

    • +6

QD were fantastic for my bootloop and it's the main reason why I would buy from their store again. Couldn't rate them highly enough.

    • +1

QD was ok for me too in regards to the bootloop issue. Not fantastic but they did get it fixed.

    • Qd have a pretty good rep. They have even fixed up G4s outside of warranty. Of coarse being a grey import it takes a bit longer than local.

    • +1

qd_au were great for my LG G4, which bootlooped 15 months after purchase, or 3 months after qd_au's 12 month warranty ended. Despite being 3 months past the end of their warranty period, they still replaced it with a working refurbished LG G4 (any working phone is better than a broken paperweight), so my personal experience is that QD were great.

LG were not great. They wouldn't honour warranty on overseas purchased phones, even though they're all made in the same factories, and even though it was LG's manufacturing fault.

So I think the 2 most sensible options are:
      1) Buy from a good seller overseas. In the case of the LG G4, both qd_au and Kogan proved themselves to be good sellers. It's worth paying the bit extra to buy from these sellers.
      2) Buy local stock from a good local store with a tax invoice. You can get the GST back if you go overseas within 90 days of purchase, you get a local store hopefully with a storefront that you can return to in the event of problems, you get 2 years warranty under the ACL with the either the store or the manufacturer, LG Australia will honor the warranty, and your credit card may offer an extra year of warranty of Australian purchases (so 3 years total, but typically have to pay a $100 excess). The main downside is that option 2 almost always costs more than option 1.

    • QD fixed my G4 out of warranty…many others as well going off the whirlpool.

Not sure why you would expect LG to provide warranty cover for a grey import?

      • same here! QD_au replaced ours 6 months out of warranty, awesome service. Very happy to purchase this G6 from them. LG on the other hand, but $500 for a flagship phone!

  • +1

If you're into rooting your phone, the LG G5 was un-rootable when I last checked. I'm assuming G6 to be much the same.

    • I checked the G6 when it came up in a previous deal, it was the same situation as the G5 - European handsets could get the bootloader unlocked, others could not. Same deal as for the LG G4. So no custom ROMs for most people :-(

      • I had a G4 before it bootlooped but that was one of my biggest issues with it. Camera, screen, curved design, all fantastic. Just the fact that I couldn't put whatever I wanted on it was a massive negative.

        • Yeah I completely agree. Two primary negatives of the G4 were the bootlooping and locked bootloader. If both of those had been fixed it would have been a total standout of a phone, and both were own-goals, entirely under LG's and only LG's control. They can unlock regions at will (e.g. their unlocker tool worked on SEA/South-East-Asia phones accidentally for a month, and then removed that ability when they realised their mistake), so it's baffling to me that they don't just allow unlocking all regions, and let people run whatever they want.

  • S8 plus having issues with bluetooth.. and it seems G6 is too

  • Oh no, I just clicked "order & pay" thinking it would take me to the PayPal page. Didn't even type in the promo code, will try and work this out with PayPal.

    • +1

20 minutes on the phone and all sorted, eBay sending a refund for the promo amount.

  • I bought one from DWI THIS FRIDAY for same price but they haven't shipped yet

    • +2

      surprise surprise.

    • +1

I thought this Friday would be 2 days from now?

      • Last Friday. Sorry i had a burger in one hand and phone in other.

    • PHONE HAS BEEN SHIPPED. Got an email right now from DWI.

    • -1

      Cancel & reorder mate

    • I bought a V2 from them on Sunday - and have just got a text stating it is out for deliver today [ on the truck @ 12:44] in Adelaide. Update b- arrived as I was typing - now to wait a few days for the case coming from Melbourne…

      • What made you buy a v20 when g6 is already on sale?

        • I answered that higher up. The "V" series are the flagship. Better camera, removable battery, I.R. blaster, Milspec tough - and, if I'd known, still with B&O earphones :-) :-) I'd played with both in store, prefer the feel and llok of the V20, and now I have it live in my hand, am very well pleased. I dithered for a while, but the low % speed difference between the 820 and 821 was not enough to sway me to the lesser specced [ for what I want] G6. Had it been the later Snapdragon, maybe…

        • +1

          @terrys:

I see. I have been following Lg v20 and g6 news etc online. I just bought g6 because of the DAC and 13mp wide angle camera.

Also, some people found v20 a bit sluggish. However, its a great phone. Absolutely beast with that secondary display. For me the deal breaker was the 8mp wide angle cam and the poor battery life. I don't like changing batteries.

I am keeping an eye on V30.

        • @Braintrain1000:
Whereas I went with the Quad DAC and the reports regarding the sound recording quality. The water resistance of the G6 was a draw, but I've dropped my phone more often than dunked it [ or put it down on pub/coffee tables] so I went for the toughness. Be warned tho - wear shades the first time your turn it on - if it is set up full like the V20 was , you'll need SPF60

        • +1

@terrys: that is good. I think G6 also comes with Quad DAC. true, glass back phones are not durable at all. Water resistance is not a great thing to have but I usually use my phone in the toilet so I think I will need it however, I wanted to buy a metal phone but all others look so outdated.

        • @Braintrain1000: The metal doesn't really do that much for me - but i do like the idea that i can just replace the battery in a couple of years. My Samsung nexus was still rocking for the chap I passed it onto last week with an OEM battery, whereas my Xperia Z is definitely a one-day wonder now :-/

        • @terrys: thats a strong point v20 has. removeable batteries are important if you want to keep the device for more than 16 months.

  • Why isn't the coupon name- Buy&Cry.

  • Does anyone know if these come with 100Gb drive storage free for 2 years?

Also, are the black ones usually cheaper? The silver one seems far less prone to fingerprints than the black. Hopefully I can pick up a silver one for less than $500 in the coming months

    • I ordered one last Wednesday (got it Monday) and I receieved the offer for 100gb free storage.

What happens to it after 2 years though?

      • You pay the price!

Thats what dropbox did with S2. 2 years later you pay what they ask or remove your photos and go to their free basic plan.

    • It was offered [on the V20]- but then I was told I couldn't have it on that account, probably because I have had and accepted an earlier offer?

  • +2

Com'on QD, I want the platinum for the same price.

  • I have a feeling 15% sitewide is on tonight :)

    • Yeah ebay facebook says sale at 6pm every wednesday of June so… 2 more hrs?

DO NOT DO NOTTTTT BUY LG mobiles!!
currently have lg mobile and when i go do a backup on pc, the app tells me my phone doesnt have enough space to do backup.
    im like what!?!?!
so i talk to support and they tell me to delete/move some things off my internal memory to free up space, that is, open up file browser and delete folders/files in internal folder structure and fingers crossed you dont stuff your mobile.
Absolutely pathetic!! Itunes, samsung, sony doesnt have this bloody problem.
But lg mobile software, ooo lets backup your whole mobile onto your mobile and then copy across to pc. Bloody idiots!!!
