  • Can you buy these at local supermarkets or is it only online?

    • $10 at coles at the moment

      • +1

$40 Vodafone is $15 at WW also.

Compare lyca mobile online & lebara mobile online. They are in big competition now. Online is chapet than in store. Lyca $9.90 is better than this.

    • why lyca is better?

      • +1

        $9.90 which is $2 more than this & 10gb instead of 5gb.

        • Oh nice!

u have the link for that?

        • @ozzyoi:

There's 2 deals with Lyca ATM: 10gig/unlimited for $10 and 6gig/unlimited for $8. Scroll down the linked page to view: http://www.lycamobile.com.au

@pupdog: when do you need to activate the sim by, any idea? I know lebra is 60 so holding off till I use up my Kogan sims. If this doesn't have restrictions when might get it now.

        • +1

[@huntress_love] Hang on, I've just received my (Lyca) receipt and you only have 15 days to redeem! I based my previous answer on the general terms and conditions. Sorry, if I've misled anyone.

        • Yes, true, maybe 10 GB data for $9.90 but old system and customer service and the part of Telstra NextG 3G/4G network can be lacking in coverage/speeds for people who live in patchy coverage areas like me ( Voda is better where I am, unless I have full Telstra, even then Voda can at certain times still be better ), so check coverage where you are first. I got the Lycamobile $4.95 unlimited + 6GB data and could not always make calls from home and had to use data elsewhere when out of house to make it usable.

      • Stay away from Lyca if you're an Iphone user

        • Have not got iphone, but wondering why?

        • @ozhunter68: Imessengin activation is a mess, 1 hr backwards with time difference, 4G is patchy = random no service, conguestion on 3G, SMS characters are F%$$@!!!ed

        • @repair-pro:

I connected an Android Sony XA with similar experience to you all round from the start. Not going back for a while if ever. lol

        • +1

          @ozhunter68:

It was a MAJOR problem for my hoyts/village booking service. $ sign would come up with an upside down Question mark so customers would think im dodgey….. I was over the moon when Imessenging was finally re-activated after 8 days.

        • @repair-pro:

I see, imessenging issues too for iphones as added problem for iphone users.

      link please?

"Lycamobile uses Telstra telecommunications 3G and 4G network in Australia."

        • Is there a trick I can keep paying $7.9 every month, do I have to keep jumping to other carriers every month and come back?

        • +1

          @kaikor:

Yes, telcos reward people who churn.

        • +1

          @Crownanchor:

Correct, but most people can not be bothered to do this and probably wary to port over their number if too hard or take too much time to process and be off the air. After doing this a few times, you learn to do it on weekdays in the morning or late at night ( where possible, so by 9am or 10am or earlier next day it's being ported over already. Just don't port late Saturday arvo lol.

        • @ozhunter68: I port provider twice in a row every month.

I can no longer do it online, have to do it instore thanks to Australia police state making life difficult for non-criminals.

        • @Diji1: Why can't you do it online?

        • +1

          @Diji1:

Seriousely? I have been porting every month for the last two years and mostly ok ( a bit flaky for Telstra and boost as often need to port number via Live Chat as records show as still existing account(s) ).

Data starter sim packs and activating new sims with new phone number are usually a breeze, activate at least 1 to 2 new data sims starter packs loaded with credit per month and often new Optus $10 sims on the $2 per day for data without hassles.

Not sure why they make it harder to go instore for you? Middle Eastern sounding name maybe ( half joking ) lol

        • +2

@ozhunter68: Probably bought a bag of fertiliser from WW for his rose bush, and filled his 4WD with diesel, the day after his last port. So the brainacs in security put him on the terrorist watch list.

        • @GregMonarch:

          Yes lol.

    • Yes..very Cheapet…:)

Advice: This site does not enforce the use of SSL (Secure connection), just make sure to use HTTPS when entering any details into this website to avoid any personal details stolen by other parties.

    • What browsers don't use HTTPS by default? I didn't think it was something that had to be worried about any more.

      • Well i clicked on the link in Chrome v58 & FF v53 both are using http for the website

        • chrome v58 here goes to https once you proceed to cart checkout

    • Sometimes they only protect the payment page. Obviously it would be better if the whole site was https.

  • How long is delivery?

    • 9 months as usual

  • Wow, just having second thoughts about this carrier.

    Terrible reviews:

I echo the bad CS. I was on online chat for 40 mins the other day, firstly it took 10 mins before they even typed anything after I got to the front of the queue and prompted with who I was chatting to. They typed 3 lines during this period. All I was asking was had my number ported and that I thought my sim was faulty. I had just bought it in the last $4.90 deal they had. I don't know if they are short staffed or what!? I ended up calling them and was on hold for 11 mins before being told that I must have a faulty sim, really!?!?, but that I need to go and buy a $2 sim to confirm it. F that. I port each month hence simply ported to my next in the rotation. I won't be going near Lebara again.

  • Is it for new subscriber only? Or old subscribers as well?

    • +1

      ok, only for new subscribers

    • it doesn't say it's only for new subscribers, I feel it's safe to say it's good for everyone to use

      • Their website says "starter" and "No SIM swaps or credit transfer"

    • Telcos do not reward existing subscribers

  • The drawback I learnt about is that after the SIM activation I started receiving marketing and survey telephone calls…

  • Maybe I missed it, but when do these need to be activated by? If I could get 6 months out of it, I'd buy a few for friends traveling.

    • It says 'Offer available on National Plan $29.90 starter packs purchased online on or before 06/06/17 and activated within 60 days'

    Do they have visual voicemail?

    • Did you manage to find this out Jake?

    • +1

Someone on Whirlpool say it doesn't, which is annoying as most Vodafone MVNO's do :(

      • +1

I think not having visual voicemail is a deal breaker. I don't know why but I can't stand not having.
I was on Optus years and never realised it existed. I went back to them last year and they did have it. Cancel my contract and received a refund (poor reception got my house)

      • Yeah it's a deal breaker for us too! I wonder if it would be as simple as them flicking switch to turn it on, but out of our control…

  • Is it possible to use Lebara refer a friend and get this deal?
Link to refer a friend below: https://www.lebara.com/global/en/lebara-has/services/talk/re…

  • I am using same plan Lebara now , bought in last promotion period for $4.99.

its very poor internet , no 4G signal at all in Sydney. I m getting rid of it once the month is finished.

    • It uses part of vodafail network

      • VODAFAIL…. :)

        • But Vodafone network provides 4G , Kogan(also vodafone) provides 4G

          dont know why lebara cant

    • Oh no - I've just bought the 12 month prepaid deal as well which got 170+ votes. I'm currently with TPG - and get fair 4G in my parts of Sydney around Hornsby. What have i done!

      • 3 G provides decent speed around 10-15 mbps most of the time but not as good as 4G speed ..Also found network glitches when I went out of sydney 100 KM plus.

you can talk to customer care they are selling SIMS advertising with 4G , If they cant give you what they promised then get refund.

        • Cheers, will check it out and see how it goes.

  • How much is the recharge after 30days ? I cant find it … can I just recharge $10/month ? What do I get with that $10 recharge. Someone please tell me.

    • recharge after 30 days is whatever you choose to top up. ATM they have a $15 a month deal for 360 days. Check out the website..

      • Thank you for that

        • offers have been extended by the way. :)

  • How dothis work?
I bought this 2 dollors lebara sim pack from coles but i can not get the discounted sim recharge through lebaras website.

I am already on lebara and in order to avail this discount I'll have to switch to another provider and port back to lebara?

  • Thanks OP, bought the sim last week and it arrived just in time for our long weekend holiday(Fri-Tue) @Surfers Paradise. 5GB of Data already gone :) Coverage was very good(4G) @Surfers. Cheers

  • I was sent a $2 starter pack. Is this correct?

I assume when I activate this SIM I will get this deal? I'm confused as to how it works, it doesn't say anywhere that I would get this deal?
