Speed is fine on Apple TV, I don't like the squishiness of the remote compared to the real thing. Does long and short presses well. Probably better off using appletv remote.app
Which remote are you talking about? This doesn't come with one :)
I have the Logitech Harmony Companion with hub and i find it works well with both Foxtel/AppleTV and Mii Box (android tv). I found my old harmony was slower than the foxtel remote but the companion seems to be pretty close to the original, maybe a tad slower.
It sucks because you have to look at your phone to control things.
I've got the RM pro from belkin and love it.
It has radio frequency emitter but does not support "rolling code" which is what garage doors and gate motors use.
Anyone know of any hubs like these that support rolling code?
I have one with the remote - known as the Harmony Smart Control. They're great - but I recommend getting it with the remote - easier than the phone. I only use the phone if I misplace the remote. The setup is much more reliable than infrared remote, smaller neater remote, CR2013 remote batteries which last a long time, don't need to be in line of sight of devices or pointed at them. I just ordered another 2 on a deal that seemed available only for a few hours - and required Amazon Prime registration - I registered for a free trial - AUD 205 delivered for 2 - but that expired before I had a chance to post it. Yep. That is the normal price. I was just mentioning expired deals from the last few months where it was around AUD 105 - 110 delivered. Still a lot cheaper than available here. (170 plus delivery at PC Case Gear. 190 plus delivery at Kogan). Note that the remote doesn't have backlight. I don't mind that - there's always a phone or light handy if needed and you haven't learnt where the buttons are - and the remote being smaller and more solid than the larger backlit remotes makes it seem less prone to damage - especially in our home with toddlers occasionally getting their hands on it and dropping it. Have had mine over a year and have not had to change batteries yet, which is a big winner.
