With Shipping to Brisbane, it came out to $109.xx AUD.

Nowhere near as good as the run-out price JB HiFi had at $79 back in March - but I guess it is delivered.

I use mine to control various devices in a centrally located server rack (Tivo / Mac Mini / Binary hdmatrix switch / Sony hifi). It comes with a secondary IR transmitter which I spliced in to a UTP run to get it to power on/off a television in another part of the house.

The main negative for me (with my centralized setup) is that the hub cannot be used to run concurrent 'activities' at the same time without some ugly workarounds. For example activity 'Watch TV1' maybe associated with TV1 and device Tivo. I would have liked to be able to create activity 'Watch Movie TV2' associated with device TV2 and device Mac Mini. Even though these are separate devices, the Hub won't allow 'Watch TV1' and 'Watch Movie TV2' to be used at the same time. So you need to get a second hub if you want to do something like this.

  • I have this and it's great to control up to 6 devices using the remote control

  • What is the difference between this product and the Harmony Hub, which costs $US92? This comes with hub and remote? So it would be silly to buy the hub separately?

And if you purchased this and wanted more activities, is it a matter of upgrading just the remote control?

I have a couple of LIFX bulbs and an Echo Dot (on the way), so am looking for a way to issues voice commands to control my TV/speakers/Nvidia Shield TV. Is there still an activity limit if I'm using it this way?

  • This is a great price, but after my recent experience with a Harmony Companion (the new version of the Smart Control) I would be apprehensive of buying from OS.

I bought the Companion on the eBay $50 voucher deal for $195, so effectively it cost me $145 and the first hub would not connect to anything (iPhone, iPad or PC with USB cable). I contacted Logitech and they gave me a case number and told me to return to the shop. The seller was really good, paid return postage and shipped a replacement before receiving the dud one, but the fact that it was DOA would make me nervous buying from OS unless it has an international warranty (which it might).

Great remote though - not too hard to programme once I got it connected, and works well inside a closed cabinet. Still getting used to not having to point the remote at the device :-)
