    Go for a zebra light!
I have had many headlamps over the years and zebra is by far the best $ for $. This one is about half the price so might be good value though.

    • thanks for the info but this one has v good reviews online as well. I have been using the nitecore tube led for a while now and im v happy about it which makes me trust their products.

    • Love my zebralight. Probably gonna get another one.

    • I have 3 zebralights and one malfunction after 2 years of light use.

  • Still using the two H60 Zebralights I bought last decade (one where the $AUD was approaching .50, but they were discontinuing the line). Bought cheapies here and there but none are really as useful as a properly built and thought out headlamp that is available in a colour temperature of your preference.

This one fits the bill from the look of it, although if I were in the market, I'd hold out for a high CRI or warm/neutral white option.

  • If it had a magnetic base I may be interested. I had a great right-angle torch for working in racks I have away as it drained the battery.

    • Superglue a small neodymium magnet to the base

Skillhunt H03 neutral is a great light for less than the cost of the nitecore in this deal. Gearbest had it on sale recently, and there is a coupon for it on www.reddit.com/r/flashlight if you ask u/zeroair. Takes the price under $40

I bought this last week using this code. I paid for registered post and tracking and got it for $40.41AUD

Edit: Message me if you want the link to the page with the coupon and zeroair's affil link.

I was looking at that as well but the problem with the skillhunt H03 is that although it does have a 1200 lumen max output, it drops the output below 60% within even less than 10mins of use (have a look at the graph at http://www.skilhunt.com/product-detail/h03-led-headlamp/)?

Also in this image - http://www.skilhunt.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/12.jpg - it says only 900 lumens with 18650 batteries? how would i get 1200lumen with this headlamp? or am i missing something completely here

1200 is the led max (not sure why they advertise this but it is what it is), 1000 is the max with 2xCR123, 900 is the max with an 18650. It drops to 60% after only a couple of minutes but then holds steady for a couple of hours, and bear in mind that perceived light output isn't linear so it won't look like a 40% drop but more like a 15-20% drop.

I've got both the H03 and the HC30 and they have different uses (for me anyway). The H03 is floody whereas the HC30 has a more pronounced hotspot and throws further. The price, lower low, magnet, and better mode spacing makes the H03 my recommendation if you are only choosing one

That is on turbo 1 mode and I think you will find that is a result of temperature protection. I am the buying the Skilhunt purely on reviews at r/flashlight. I am forever seeing this light recommended and "need" a decent LED headlamp ;)

        • @ebosh: Maybe i'll wait untill easter to see if fasttech gonna give 10% or something off store wide and grab this one. thanks for the input tho

If the nitecore was of the same price as skillhunt, then nitecoe is a better buy isnt it

        • @kiLbiL: Totally up to you mate. They have different properties. The zeroair coupon only lasts until 31/3

        • @kiLbiL: Yeah, up to you. I would buy the Skillhunt for the magnet, the much lower low mode, the wider range of output levels and the neutral white beam. I use the nitecore when i go running in the dark because it throws further and I find it easier to operate with gloves on. Horses for courses, or at least that's my excuse for owning 20+ different lights ;)

        • Thanks, very helpful.
I ended up with the Nitecore T360M, its not nearly as bright, but seems like a good solution for my needs.
